People with an eating disorder already have somebody in their head telling them they are weak, they are worthless, they are nothing, they are disgusting. Eating is one way to drown out this voice, purging and starving are both ways that they are slaves to that voice. I cannot fathom that reinforcing these messages through 'tough love' can in anyway help them break the cycle of their eating disorder.
@tamithomas If it was said to me, I'd prove them wrong. I'd change my thinking, realize there are people who have real things to be sad about and that I am being weak for letting things depress me. But I told MYSELF I was weak. I got therapy, started believing I was strong, living it and all of the sudden I wasn't depressed anymore. Tough love works for some people, it works for me most of the time. I use this channel to share what worked and is working for me. Grow up you say? I say Toughin up
I made the statements I did in the video because that was the impression I got from every person I have met that has an ED. The just don't wanna do the work, don't want to change thier ways, they'd rather take the easy way and just not put anything in their mouths or puke it up. As I've said before, its alot harder to defeat your inner demons that are the root of the disorder. Stop making excuses, Its in your head, change your thinking, adhere to your new ways and watch yourself change.
btw try not to be so harsh on the people with eating disorders.i get u were depressed & pulled urself out of it but these people havnt yet.remember its not a choice & TRUE eating disorders (not all the wannorexics ur probably thinking of)are treated with medicine & maybe these people were harshly taunted, abused at home, living by themselves & rejected.membr that an eating disordr isnt usualy about the eating but trauma about something else projected thru eating habits.try to b more sensitiv
@mkaykay876 1st read my response 2 tami. I realize there are those who have a serious problem. But I feel that problems like this aren't gonna go away with sugar coated therapy. I had 2 be aggressive with myself 2 get out. Having a compassionate and sympathetic approach seems like the way 2 go but for me it was better to hit it head on. But again, it's what worked for me. Some may be offended, but I have learned in 26 years that being overly sensitive gets you nowhere, life requires a thick skin
omg!!! one of the girls u featured in here is the personal trainer i get my workouts from !!! :D btw verry cool FITspo. im trying hard to obtain a feminine 6pack myself and this is an awesome song. 10/10 on this fitspo :)
i dont appreciate being called weak and uninformed...i have an eating disorder, its more than "starving myself to be thin"...yes, there is a HUGE HUGE population of "thinspo" or "pro ana" but those support eating disorders as a way of life or a choice, are obvi not suffering. an ed is a mental illness, ive been put in treatment twice, trust me i AM informed of the healthy way to lose weight
First off, don't takes things so personally. This is aimed at those who want to get thin and are thinking about starving themselves. If you have an ED, sucks for you but I don't have much sympathy for you, read my response to Bannaberry86. So you have the right information and you still chose to hurt yourself. That is a choice, and it's suicide. Sorry but I think your mentally weak. I pulled myself out of a deep depression and changed my ways of thinking about myself. If I did it so can you.
i just wanted to say that i actually have an eating disorder and its not some choice i made. i dont wake up and say "i wanna make myself puke every single thing i eat for the rest of my life". its not something i can control anymore. but im trying. i had to pause this video though at 27seconds 'cause your ignorance of eating disorders is overwhelming for me. i KNOW the healthy way to lose weight and that im probably gonna end up dead. its not something you can just stop. its a mental desease.
@bananaberry86 Sorry but I don't buy it. Sorry You can't take control, sorry your consumed by a habit and idea. Sorry you'd rather kill yourself than change your ways. It doesn't come easy, it takes blood sweat and tears to change your mental ways and pull yourself out of an ED. But its possible, I've seen it.
Oh I love this. For so many reasons but I can't be bothered writing them all. Basically, yay for fitspo, not starving, doing it the right way, being HEALTHY and just all around taking care of your best asset, yourself!
I've known a lot of extremely fit women (figure models) and they may not starve themselves but they definitely don't eat very much variety when they are trying to look as fit as they need to to be in those pictures. For weeks they may only eat chicken or fish (no salt or seasoning), veggies( spinach and only a few others) 1 to 2 servings of complex carbs and a bit of fats....and workout extremely hard on top of it all.
@CastaneyaS i gotta agree with you on this, a lot of pro fitness and figure competitors actually do unhealthy things before competitions and photoshoots too, like not drinking enough water or taking diuretics to flush out water weight for a "crisp" appearance :/
contrary to what is put at the beginning of the video.. starvation is actually a lot of hard work.. CLEARLY the WRONG way to go about things, but it is definately not the "easy way"... i've gone to different periods in my life.. sometimes i'm pro fitness and healthy eating.. and sometimes i just give up and reduce myself to eating nothing but a salad a day if that... still struggling between the two...
@rscard119 Its all a matter of opinion, but I think its harder to eat right than eat nothing at all. I went on a juice fast for 10 days, no solid food for 10 days... and it was hard for the first few days, but then its not so bad. Whats hard is controlling Your choices and changing your habits, cause that means you gotta break a possible unhealthy relationship with food such as emotional eating like I do :-/ Its harder to face your demons than ignore them, But thats just me and my experience :-)
@MsBeautyfulDisaster i've done that too.. the juice fast.. only i couldnt actually do it for more than a day...but i've gone other days with out eating.. not healthy at all...which im sureyou'll agree... i understand exactly what your saying..i haven't had a healthy relationship with food in years.. it is a lot easier to ignore the truth
You don't have to have a six pack to be fitspo. All these girls are examples of that, glad to see no ribs too :) I want to be pretty sturdy, and independent.
@cantlivethedream work out and eat healthy, its not a disorder, please, my mind is mentally driven to use it the wrong way, then get mentally driven to do it for the right reasons, excuses, and made up diseases and brainwash are keeping people down, don't let it happen to u,
omg everyone stop attention seeking and watch the vid. Or alternatively F*** off (in the nicest way possible)
