@CanwllCorfe615 Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'd never heard of Balmorhea before reading your comment. I've been looking for more music like this.
Brings me back those childhood summers with my friends when we were 13 years old. On a hot summer day used to run through the grain fields and cycle with our rusted bikes along the long dusty roads leading to the lake. This all sounds like straight out of a cliché book, but those were the best day of my life and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
It's strange that this is off a TV show soundtrack, it's way too....good. Though I guess everything else about Carnivale was better than most TV shows so it stands to reason.
It's absurd that I came here and you wrote that, because this song is *the* song that I dedicated to my wonderful and beautiful dog that is now gone, and easily could have been in the freak show of Carnivale. Or at least an entry in the world's strangest looking dog contest.
That´s just how wonderful this piece is, Beal was betting at the time, when Oklahoma was a beautiful land full of promise and then the dustbowl took everything away, the same can be said for the Carnivale Convoy, once a proud community or artists now reduced to a wandering group of beggars trying to survive in the middle of nothing but keeping alive the memory of what they once where.
This song is all about memories. That why it{s so melancholic...

did you learn this tune?

I´m at the process of learning the first exercises on the banjo, i bought it about a month ago... so I´m pretty new to it.
I plan on learning this tune and The Crow, from Steve Martin.

One of my Ipod favorites. The period depicted in the series was during the Depression. How appropriate for the times we find ourselves in nowadays.
