I agree with you whole-heartedly! I am forty-one years old and I watched it religiously until I was nine! In my opinion, it remained decent until the early to mid nineties. Then it really went downhill! What a shame!

Nope... botht he singing and speaking were done by Jim Henson.

HE makes Guy sing like LINK HOGTHROB whom Jim also performed.

In fact, Brian Henson, his son, stated once that when Jim would do things like carve a thanksgiving Turkey, he would use Link's voice.

Looks like the announcer here is Kevin Clash, just like in "The School Game". That's pretty rare, as normally the announcer is either Jerry Nelson or Martin P. Robinson. Frank Oz also did it for at least two game shows during the first season.
