  • Thank god siskels dead. he doesn't know hit.

  • I always find myself wishing that every review they did went on for an hour and a half.

  • Yeah I love their disagreements.

  • I think the title is misleading being US ARMY 9th Infantry Reg "Manchus" 2nd ID that actually fought the battle of Heartbreak Ridge.

  • I got syphilis from Ebert in 1965

  • agreeing with siskel on this, on many points. but.....I liked the movie.

clint was cool, everybody else in this movie just seemed like they came out of a cartoon. bad 80's cartoon, like captain planet.

  • It's a heartbreak to look at Ebert. Tasteless and out of style always

  • I thought it was a good movie, the performances (most notably Eastwood) were solid all around and the humor was sharp instead of offensive.

  • Shut yer face, hippie. Ha!

  • What the fuck s the matter with you, Sissie Siskel?

  • I thought it was a very average film but was made very enjoyable because of Clint's central performance...that's what movie star's are for though- elevating boring material into something enjoyable, and no one does that like Clint Eastwood

  • haha I love watching these two bicker. I agree with Ebert much more, but I get what Siskel is getting at. The film is absolutely nothing new. This is one of those movies you either love for its charm or hate for its unoriginality.

  • i love everett mcgill. i saw this movie a long time ago. i remember it as being not bad.

  • I completely agree with Siskel on this one, I was very disappointed by this movie. The members of the platoon were uninteresting, the black guy was down right annoying, and I found myself starting to get turned off by eastwood's character very early into the film. I guess the only reason I watched the whole thing was because I was waiting for some payoff, which I found to be lackluster to say the least.

  • Siskel is an idiot.

  • Clint Eastwood. Legend. R.I.P.

  • @AgentGordonCole eh, you act like he's dead... he's not.

  • Shut the fuck up Siskel be thanksful you're all ready dead, as a Marine I say this my boys and I once saw this movie while we were on ship and we loved it from the Sweede to Gy Highway in fact we said Clint Eastwood the way he portrayed Gunny Highway was just how our real life Gunny was.

  • Boring? What a dumbass.

  • "not an interesting war in reality"

What the fuck was that? interesting and not interesting are defenitely not things to be said about war.!!!

  • I love how Siskel flat out stands his ground on this one, even when Ebert tries his "you don't like it because it's above you routine", which seems intimidate the guests on his show.

  • Wow, Gene was WAAAAAAAY off on this one.

  • Clint Eastwood is a legend and this was a hell of a performance!

  • the movie itself is ok, i'd say see it only if your a clint eastwood fan. his performance makes this film.

  • I don't know a Marine that doesn't like this movie.

  • This film is not boring, i totally disagree, this is one of Eastwoods best movies

  • Agreed. Most Marines (or former Marines like myself) like this movie a lot. It's not TOO far from how the Corps really is (except for some of the disrespect shown towards officers by Gunny Highway and such). But anyway, very enjoyable movie. Ooh rah!
