im a firefighter, the interview part has to be a fake, if he inhaled smoke, he wasn't wearing his SCBA, a fire department would never let a firefighter admit to the media that they were breaking federal OSHA regulations, they could get in serious trouble. Also, all departments have a Public Information Officer whose sole job is to deal with media as a liaison. a firefighter is almost never allowed 2 b interviewed regarding an incident, especially if there is going to be a criminal investigation.
