Oddly, I thought that the second time I've beaten the game. The mind of a child, lol. It wasn't until I thought long and hard about what the ending said and the shape of the aliens that I figured humans weren't part of the "Children of the Vortex".

Ecco doesn't kill the queen, but to avoid spoilers you'll have to play through the game to see how it really plays out.

The drones DO appear in the final, but only in one version of the video, and there are two. One from the vantage point of a nearby Orca (full) and one from the Asterite's POV (ends early, for obvious reasons)

It is said that she escapes in the form of a Vortex Larvae, uses the time machine to escape to the Earth's past, and tries to form a new Hive. She finds out she cannot control the creatures there. So she integrates herself.

Man, I still remember my first time seeing her in the first game.

I didn't even REALISE it was her till I saw her open her mouth, at which point I was totally like:

Of the first game. The first game didn't really have any bosses other than that. The second game had a lot of stuff that could be considered "bosses" though.

Oh I know it was the last boss of the first game , The Vortex queen was hard as hell when I played it back in 93 . I was 12 years old and had so many good memories , I've never played the second game though

The first game had the ancient Asterite and the Vortex Queen (I also remember a giant seahorse as a kind of sub-boss).

Tides of Time had the Moral Eel/Conch Shell, the Globe Holder and the Vortex Queen again.

There aren't too many in both versions.

there were two sea horses in the first one....werent really sub bosses either...just gates to get past into another corridor. they took a few hits sure but werent really boss like...

I dont remember seeing the Vortex Drones appear in the final version and I dont see the orca from the final version in this vid.

I do agree with bloodofredmoon, though. Her attacks do seem way too strong.

Eh not too different from the original. Her attacks seem a bit more on the strong side though.
