I do like the slim, but only for two major reason, 1 is because it does not take up a lot of heat, and I heard it does not get heated that easily.

However, you're making the right move on not gettn the ps3 slim. This is my first time owning a ps3, so I just went with the slim. I love the 60gb and the older 80gb modules.

im getting a ps3 slim because im buying a PS3 for the first time and id rather get the one with the best value i can get for the price im paying. 80 gig fat ps3 or 120 gig slim ps3 for same price... sure the 80 gig looks nicer and shinier, but im not really into how it looks, just the fact that i get more for what im paying for, in this case hard drive space. But this is only my opinion

But I'm getting a SLIM and if you have a 80 gig sorry to tell you you don't have BC, PS3 SLIM is the same price as 60 gig but has more HDD than the 80 gig, plus it makes up for the lost OS feature with bravia sync, slimmer lighter and bigger HDD 120 gig buy one if you ave an 80 gig, it makes sense or 40 gig, don't just don't buy one because it's ugly ups are better then downs. Don't buy if you have a good condition 60GB, Don't have bravia.

I'm getting a slim and I'm keeping my 60gb. PS3 Slim is really quiet and clocked at faster speeds that will be utilized later on in the future. wait till 3.0 to see the big picture.
