  • nozhnitsi it russian name of scissors))так, чтоб понятнее

  • russians are badass

  • i went to sambo for 8 years

  • @95Davron In what country ?

  • @Skilledman89 AMERICA BRO (:

  • yes Russians are nuts!

  • this art form is rip off of the Indian version of Kushti

  • @rajvora27

    its manny things ...

  • What's that move at 3:22? The Combat one

  • @dshojudo Flying Armbar

  • @origanalreaper Thanks. I'll ask my coach about it ;-)

  • Sambo has different versions, which is why some people mix up some of the rules. There is competition, Combat, and Freestyle Sambo. Competition does not allow chokes. Combat Sambo does

  • shit

y is there nuthin like this over here where i live :(

  • that scissors take down was sick..Sambo is the shit..`p.

  • in the hip throw the animation shows the elbow arm incorrect ,

  • Basketbrawl, epic game, epic name.

    Future Olympic sport?

  • I would totally do Sambo but there is no where that does it where I live.

  • @RememberJudas314 same, it sucks its actually the only martial art i want to do

  • @jabzxzxz its almost identical to judo in terms of throws and bjj in terms of groundwork, bjj is far more developed on the ground though.

  • @jabzxzxz Sambo seems to focus heavily on grappling, though there are some strikes. If you cannot find a Sambo school or instructor I would suggest learning a another martial that focuses on grappling, such as Jui-Jitsu, Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, or Judo.

  • @RememberJudas314 Most Sambo schools (If taught by Russian Sambo Masters or their descendants) practices 50% standup and 50% groundwork. The way it should be! In most Sambo schools chokes are taught as well because most if not all Russian Sambo masters also hold a black belt in Judo. The best is Combat Sambo because there you get to learn Karate & Kickboxing style strikes/kicks with Judo, Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu style grappling, chokes, arm bars and leg locks. Combat Sambo is like MMA with a gi.

  • @pcjudosambo From the sounds of it, Sambo is a comprehensive martial art. It just seems then that "Human Weapon" did not really do it justice.

  • @RememberJudas314 Possible. That last match was not the fault of Human Weapon crew, more like Fedor's fault for picking out such a "white belt". Sambo is great for self-defense and if you practice enough, it's great for all types of grappling (Naga, ADCC). You see, Sambo (as a self-defense form) was made for military and police. The goal of a Sambist is to stand and defend himself against 1 or multiple attackers. Now, a sambo guy is well versed in ground grappling but that's the last resort.

  • @pcjudosambo Mostly I am referring to their inability to describe the concept of Sambo; explaining, as you did, the initial idea of facing attackers standing and taking them to ground as a last resort. Otherwise I'm forced to use Wikipedia to help in my description of it and Wiki categorizes it as a grappling-focused art.

  • @RememberJudas314 well, it is a grappling art because grappling does not mean "ground only". Grappling means wrestling or combating against an opponent without strikes, kicks, or weapons with the idea of controlling your opponent on the top or bottom. Greco/Freestyle are also grappling and Sambo is actually "Sambo Wrestling". Sport Sambo is 100% grappling while Combat Sambo is 50/50. Also, all Sambo (Sport or Combat) have more ground grappling than Judo and Judo is a grappling art.

  • @RememberJudas314 There's one in Brooklyn, as far as I am concerned. My friend practises in that dojo.

  • @surefireaccount1989 I am in Houston. There are a lot of martial arts here, mostly Taekwondo. However, the exotic ones (Sambo, Capoeira) or the combat heavy ones (Krav Maga, Escrima) are either really hard to find or not available. I was lucky enough to find an instructor to teach me Escrima and a little Muay Thai.

  • @RememberJudas314 I'm not sure if I can call a Russian martial art exotic.

In Mother Russia, arm break you!

  • Any one feels like using this against the fuckers that killed Bambi's mom?

  • 2:35 lol he's in your team!

  • I'd rather tap the mat than get my leg broken, lol.

  • I am from Ukraine, used to study free style and classic wrestling - this video is great!

Totally agree with other folks JohnSalchiJohn and CombatSambist - why wouldn't we just enjoy the Art.

  • *sambo

  • I am from Russia, and I've been doing samba for six years,I also won championship of Moscow, and I can said only one thing, sambo is really cool!

  • @Combatsambist awesome ^^ i wanna learn sambo but can't find a place near me =(

  • @Combatsambist hmm .,. what do u think about systema ? ..

  • I mis-heard the advice/narration in this video and went out and picked a fight with a child, tossing it around like a rag doll.

Always listen carefully to what the mail order catalogue model is saying.

  • never do sambo naked!

  • @Legacycomics I think that goes for almost any martial art! ^_^

  • 2 mins in heaven = 2 mins of excruciating pain

  • i tired basket brawl at my martial arts gym and its fun but you could lose all that stamina

  • taking up combat sambo soon.basketbrawl looks amazing

  • May the Russian people stay strong and mighty.

  • kharlampiev just stole georgian martial art.

SAMBO is not Russian martial art. it is stolen martial art from Georgia.. Christopher Niniashvili has taught Russians. I have video with legendary Christopher Niniashvili

  • @Tibarenian

Yes, and first man in planet, Adam, was georgian...we all georgians...u fu**ck in your ass in osethia, and usa and israel craped with u, georgian SUPERMAN!

u know chechens, tatars, uzbekistan, kazakhs, yes, they are fighters but geogria...allways too much talks, but nothing can make..

  • @Raffida

1no.I think first man on earth was from africa

    2.you are not Georgian.envy-boy can't be Georgian

3.if georgians are not Fighters, why Georgia with 4 million population have more champions then Russia with population 150 million? Isrel, USA and all world ar our brothers. and what you have? Chechens and we are old nations. it's our bloodline. and who are you? SAMBO IS GEORGIAN MARTIAL ART. RUSSIAN OCUPANTS JUST STOLE IT FROM GEORGIA. IT IS HISTORY AND I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATIONS ABOUT THIS

  • @Raffida "Yes, and first man in planet, Adam" <--- Prove it!

  • Igor is a monster !!! He's the man!

  • Russian SAMBO the best of the best!!!

  • All these moves look too damn complicated. The marine corps moves seemed much more practical and effective.

  • I love how Americans pronounce Russian words, they make them sound more classy. Like the word Nozhnitsi= scissors in russian.

  • Martial arts basketball? My head just exploded from the awesome.

  • yeh i know why are people always comparing martial arts and saying this is better than that its not the art is the skill of the artist and to be totally fair in most real world situations where someone really wants to hurt (and i dont mean some drunk guy outside a club who might take a half hearted swing) if someone was going to rob you or kill you, they would probably just come up behind you and smash you in the back of the skull anyway, and oyu will be dead

  • This stuff from 6:54 onwards isn't healthy. That's just plain idiotic.

  • How is it that the History Channel is able to talk about WWII in every fucking program?

  • 3:28 that guy got fucked up HAHAHAHA!!!

  • Wow these techniques are insane. This is coming from a freaking asian

  • @RoxasDivine all these submissions are from jujitsu. nothing new

  • I'm looking at the scissor take-down and that knee and ankle on someone's chest look like easy targets.

  • Russia rulz, Sambo rulz :D

  • @Spetsnazcollector in soviet russia, sambo "rulz" you!

  • @willardftw XD Yeah!

  • 2 min in heaven ^^ Got to feel good....

  • You know, if you where teached sambo(i was and my trainer said) that, you if you are in fighting on the street you can't use throwing methods whitch you learn in sambo.

    Bad english, sor.

  • @San4ez39

Sambo is effective on the street. Generally strikes , counters and sweeps are what makes Sambo effective. The chokes , joint locks and throws are integral to make Sambo street fighting real and Sambo does have many techniques that a trainee can manipulate and use on real life situation.

Just like Taekwondo - which was used during the Vietnam and Korean Wars, Taekwondo was not a sport and the techniques are combat efficient.

Respect to all martial art masters and arts.

  • @San4ez39 why?

  • @PankrationWarrior

Because most of them don't know how to fall right, how to use hands and somersault to compensate energy from throwing. You can easily break an arm or do something worse, like break a neck

  • @San4ez39 You're too caring. In the street you should never rely on compassion from your opponent. A fight is a fight. Win or die.

  • @PankrationWarrior

I know:) I'm just saying what my trainer said.

  • Man, Sambo is just pure gay rape...lol

    Sambo is HARDCORE!

  • i LOVE hip throws,

they are useful, powerful, simple, size doesn't matter, and it's taught in so many arts because of this

    Hip throw FTW

  • 6:55 wtf are they doing?!

    Having sex?

Yeah I also got the 2 mins of heaven when in Bangkok

  • @762full U meant "Bangedcock" right?

  • In my opinion the best martial art depends on your goal.

If you're looking for realism and military training, practice something that incorporates brutal standup (Muay Thai) and Grappling & Submission (Sambo / BJJ)

Great thing about Sambo is its all incorporated.

  • Basketbrawl is better than basketball.

  • in america we call it jungle ball

  • @cycoman702 no one cares about america

  • am I the only one who thinks that basket brawl looks like the funniest thing ever and all martial arts should have some sort of variant

  • minutes of heaven, jesus. What came up with that?

I dont think i can even take 20 seconds of that. ...

  • Basketbrawl in English is Rugby. Lol.

  • @sgthobbes2 ur a idiotic racist bigget go watch some more news so u can learn some more about the world there teaching you well dumb ass

  • @jongee37 comment meant 4 pillsburydoughboy 47

  • @sgthobbes2 comment not meant 4 u sorry bout that

  • 7:00

most ingenious mental training method I've ever seen. Grappling is all about thinking when you can't breathe right?

  • Depends. BJJ will present the essense of grappling as a flow chart, position to position to submission and so on.. Judo is similar. Sambo and catch wrestling is found in the transitions, the inbetween moments. At least that's my take on it.

  • In BJJ you can choke somebody?

or lock them, or submit them?

damn, sign me up; I called it Brazilian Gay Jitsu once but, I always hated catch wrestling back when I took it in Jr. High.

I mean all you could do was pin or craddle, and fuck we weren't taught shit; coach just taught us like, two moves, threw us in there and said "wrestle."

  • with that background, he then threw us, the team, against guys who had been doing it since the age of 5, some of them with family legacies of wrestling champs in the region.

and you know what? I was only pinned once, I always only lost on points. The ONE guy who pinned me, was this horrifically strong native american guy, whose strength edge was in part given to him by weight training, that is how I got interested. His older brother though, was still strong.

  • even though he didn't strength train all he did was wrestle.

Dude, always losing is nothing to be proud of but, I was never pinned, ever, during matches, okay I was, but only once. All my other losses? Just points.

Probably shoulda taken Judo in college or something; explored my grappling potential some more. Oh well; hey, you say that BJJ has a "links in a chain" approach to grappling? That is one move flowing into the next?

    again, sign me up.

  • I am neither a "big hits" or "combo" oriented person; rather, I like to think of myself as a "use combos to set up big hits" type person. If BJJ or Judo follow a "combo to set up the big hit" approach to grappling again, where the hell do I sign up?

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 Just google your town or city and Brazilian jiu jitsu and you should find plenty. For note, high schools do not teach catch wrestling. They teach folk, freestyle, or greco roman. Catch wrestling has positional movement and controls similar to folkstyle, but involves jointlocks, chokes, and generally more varied takedowns.

  • You mean, freestyle is basically the foundation of catch?

Now that I recall, yeah, it may have been free style. I fucking hated it though it was restricted to pins. Additionally, like I said I lost on points and I had so many times, where I was positioned for a joint lock or choke, its painful to think back!

    thanks for the advice though.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 You could say that it is. Catch is really just a term for western wrestling styles going back hundreds of years, so it's more of a precursor to modern formats in the West, but speaking strictly of the movements, yeah, catch is an expansion on the more common styles.

  • my only regret from high school, is not having stuck with wrestling; shoulda stuck with it all the way through from 7th grade. It was tough as hell, and losing sucked so bad sometimes I wimpered like a sissy, but I had fun. Wrestling will literally squeeze all arrogance out of you man, I can understand why it was seen as a badge of manhood in so many cultures. Personally though I doubt Muhamad the prophet of Islam was a good wrestler; too much of an asshole. Good wrestlers are generally nice

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 why are you talking about muhammad what does he have to do with any of this

  • @sumoshinobi he is the "prophet of Islam," and I'm just saying he could probably get his ass kicked by these Sambo guys.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 dude i know who he is i'm muslim but what has he to do with this fuck you douche

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 u sir are a obvious idiot racist bigget go watch some more news your teachers want to teach you some more inacurate stupid shit

  • I practice Yang style Tai Chi though which, believe it or not is actually a standing grappling style, although its approach is a bit different.

  • is it just me or dose bill fial ?

  • why lol? borats = wrestler...=/

  • Borets, actually :)

  • i know sergei dragunov.he's a sambo fighter in tekken. =)

  • Club Borats lol.

    VERY NICE!!!!!

  • haha borats!

  • Бугай так смешно делал подъем переворотом...чуть себе копчик не отбил наверное :)

  • basketbrawl sounds awesome! it should be made an official sport!

  • all in all:

sambo is a lil bit like judo but sambo is more brutal

  • one of sambo's creators studied under jigoro kano after all.

  • more like juijitsu

  • Basketbrawl. YES.

  • sambo represents judo before judo was turned into a sport, sambo kept all the techniques that judo is not allowed to use in competition, to my understanding some judo schools teach these techniques but not alot of schools do since the popularity or focus on olympic judo.

  • umm no, the founder of sambo learned from jigoro kano the founder of judo and basically combined that with the native wrestling arts of russia with along with some other things but judo is a big piece of the pie

  • Comment removed

  • Sambo was invented independantly ..

  • lol samborgy.

  • lol club Borac, then means club Fighter :D

  • i don't know why so many people always compare one martial art with another one. why don't you just enjoy what are you watching and shut your mouth! i can't understand that so many martial artists have so little humility and are always trying to show others that they know very much about fighting! sorry for my bad english and greetings from Argentina! (i have practiced judo for the last 8 years but i love Sambo too)

  • @johnsalchijohn sure, you're right. I myself like Sambo for the quick knock-outs and Krav Maga for the versatility in modern day life going from disarming to self defense to knocking out. Also like Capoiera because of the elegance

  • @johnsalchijohn People who brag and boast about Martial arts and being in martial arts, usually arnt very good.

  • @johnsalchijohn I Agree with you, When two fighters fight, Its not a fight between the styles, but between the Fighters. so people cant say which style is best, but which suits you most.

  • @johnsalchijohn

I agree with you 100 percent. I train in MMA and would love to learn it all.

  • @johnsalchijohn I agree... and it is this bickering and macho posturing that should only exist in the bad guys schools in movies like karate kid, it goes against the modesty and humility that martial arts teaches us!

  • basketbrawl looks frickin fun

  • @MrEpicc

it is! i thought we were the only psychopaths plaing that game ... lol

  • lol basketbrawl. They should bring that here in the US ^^.

  • odni chypki v zale lol

  • I used to do BJJ for some time, then moved back to my country and started doing combat sambo...and i got owned..

In sambo you do a lot more physical work than u do during the BJJ warm up...and therefore sambo guys are much tougher over-all IMO, BJJ guys seem to be more technical sometimes

  • Agree. I wish there were more sambo schools where i live since there r alot of russians. lol, i can hear em even though im not russian. Sambo even looks more brutal since russians r toughest

  • Mix Judo throws with Ground and pound or BJJ and you have a good strategy.

  • What if you get rocked before you even clinch up, far before going to the ground on your terms?

  • Why would you get rocked, unless they got a cheap shot or you weren't paying attention then you shouldn't get tagged or rocked. If you do get rocked then keep backing up and wait til they chase then go for clinch and lay on top after you got them down. I really don't know since I haven't gotten rocked in a few years and that was before my training.

  • Ok what if the likely chance you fight multiple opponents? Wheres you grappling going to get you then? You want to go to the ground?

  • Its called a Uzi!

  • Basketbrawl does look fun.

  • Yeah. You can do fouls and get away with it XD.

  • the way some ppl play pick up basketball is just like basketbrawl because they dont know how to play proper defense lol

  • the scissor takedown looks damn cool when executed fluently, like Russian did it.

  • The scissor takedown is a banned move in judo competition, it's called Kani Basami in japanese.

  • Well Judo is designed to take an opponent down without hurting him. That's not a concern in Sambo.

  • Yeah, Judo was way too soft for my taste.

  • judo is a sport, sambo was originally designed to be used in real life situations.

  • Normal Ju-Jitsu is what you need.

  • japanese ju jitsu? or Brazilian jiu jitsu?

  • Japanese in my opinion is an all round better art to learn and it works better in real life - On the street, the last place you want to end up is on the ground... Yeah, you have one person in a very bendy looking body lock, but the other ones kicking you in the head might sway the result.

  • If that were so then the japanese police department would still be using ju jitsu instead judo dug their grave.

  • Yeah, but judo gets them down and holds them without any real pain to the person. If they did jujitsu they'd probably break limbs... Only my opinion.

  • Ok, your opinion is your opinion. But you described wrestling(takedowns and pins. Judo does have chokes, shoulder locks, and arm bars and can be applied unlike wrestling. I understand Judo gets it's roots from ju jutsu but opinions are opinions.

  • you missed out the leg locks and necklso taught in judo just not used in comps. cranks that are a

  • Your opinion is wrong wrong WRONG since Judo is an evolution and distilation of the non-streangth based techniques of ju jitsu, and has been proven more effective. Watch the damn episode about it before spouting opinions that arn't opinions, but just misinformation.

  • Judo has ground and throwing game. Your post makes no sense, you don't know what you are talking about, so I can only conclude you are a dumbass.

  • While true, I've experienced some signifigant pain from expert Judo users, they can do mad damage if they choose too.

  • Man, basketbrawl looks fun!

  • yeah
