Well, GameFAQs game a user rating for Dawn Of The Dragon that was 9.1 which is a higher score than Year of The Dragon on the same site (which gad an 8.9 but unfortunately, DOTD lost it's 9.1 standing). The TLOS trilogy are masterpieces.

An epci storyline, great and complex gameplay, 2-player mode, collectibles that are useful (like the armor), the gameplay has physical combat 9which was needed for Spyro a long time ago), with Cynder's breathes and the Fury, they're 9 breathes and it's not for little kids anymore, the only thing i like about R&C better is that there's a btter sense of comedy than the old games, the old games had a horrid sense of comedy, Crash's was and is better.

No, Spyro WAS mediocre, now, he's epic, he has cool attacks, like has a great storyline (instead of that kid's thing that could make normal adults vomit), and he's got a love interest of his own species instead of that inbreed, Elora.

You proved the same thing with the new games. What's so awesome? Gliding and shooting a small puff of fire doesn't give much euphoria, does it? The new games have a great story making Spyro someone who is very important. The gameplay really shines; The physical combat is very fun, the breathes are more complex and fun to use, and the co op is brilliant. The only reason it's not as popular as the old games is because people can't accept that the games NEEDED to change for the better (continues).

yeah well i do like platformers they're like my favorite genre of games and i grew up with spyro and i guess just never got tired of it i like the new ones just like i said not as much. the old ones were pretty much platformers, and todays are RPG's i really just don't like what they did with the game changing it and all.
I understand where your coming, but i, personally like change, most of the time, better than the previous format. This goes far beyond Spyro, this goes for the Crash Bandicoot and Sonic the Hedgehog series too. RPGs? I believe the newest Spyro game is beat em' up, not an RPG. RPGs are like the Pokemon games. They stopped making Spyro games because they did everything they could with Spyro. Being a dragon and being that he didn't have hands, there was only so much they could do with the character. Sure, you can fly, breathe fire and charge but that gets old after three games. Also, Universal Studios owns the rights to Spyro, and when Insomniac left to become independant they had to leave Spyro behind. They even said they don't want to go back to Spyro because R&C allows them to be more creative.

No, YOU STFU! I am NOT a "new kid" i grew up with it and had th gmes since i was 4 and i liked the games back then, but now? Why would a teenager want to play a kiddish game when Spyro has grown up into something worth loving, unlike the old games.
Spyro is NOT dead, he's a hell of a lot better. you're just to blinded by your stupid childhood memories to see the real Spyro. The glorious one, i only have 3 las words to say; JUST GROW UP!!!

Why are you bagging on the old Spyro? Those were classics. The originals were good because it was more simplistic and open to explore. They don't suck, they're great, you just think it's childish. That's like saying pokemon is horrible because it's childish. Last time I checked, the pokemon games have a concept lots of children actually fail to understand.
Also, I'm a teenager (15) and I love the oldies, and think the new ones are kind of dumb in a way.

It's just not my style. Think about it: A kid dragon saves the world with only a charge attack and flame attack and it's like he's the ONLY kid dragon in the world, couldn't someone else help a little? And i'm talking about someone from his own species.
Pokemon is actually cool despite being a little kiddish and it is hard for kids to get but pokemon is a little different because it has a more grown up concept and is harder to understand than the old Spyro.

Oh, i get it. Your right, we shouldn't argue. We just have different tastes, i like fighting and being powerful in games (along with some puzzles and a little platforming to mix it up) and you probably like something to relax with like the old Spyro games. I grew up with them too, but i just grew out of them and started to like other things and didn't really like what the old games had for me as i am older. Thanks for being civilized so we could be on good ground. Thanks.

yeah well i do like platformers they're like my favorite genre of games and i grew up with spyro and i guess just never got tired of it i like the new ones just like i said not as much. the old ones were pretty much platformers, and todays are RPG's i really just don't like what they did with the game changing it and all.

I understand where your coming, but i, personally like change, most of the time, better than the previous format. This goes far beyond Spyro, this goes for the Crash Bandicoot and Sonic the Hedgehog series too. RPGs? I believe the newest Spyro game is beat em' up, not an RPG. RPGs are like the Pokemon games. Oh, just so you know, my favorite type of game is a beat em' up/ platformer.

I really loved Disruptor.
Back then, it was a good game, just simply not anything "special" like a system seller.
Up until the PS3 their games were amazing.
Now, I like the PS3, but their PS3 games.... like Resistance..... sooo mediocre........ Ratchet Future is just not fun. His facial animation looks like utter crap, and instead of taking the first 4, and sticking to it, they instead REMAKE it with a completely boring storyline, about 2 stupid, humorless cameos, and crap character animation.

no ismoniac wanted to be an independent devloper and universal owned rights. So when they decided to move on they had no control to where spyro went. Then universal sold it to someone else who completley destroyed it. Samething happened to naughty dog and crash bandicoot.

Yes, Universal owned both Spyro and Crash. Insomniac left Spyro, not the other way around.
similarly, I'm pretty sure sony owns Ratchet & Clank, so if Insomniac ever wanted to work on another platform (Sony doesn't own Insomniac) it couldn't be a R&C game.

They stopped making Spyro games because they did everything they could with Spyro. Being a dragon and being that he didn't have hands, there was only so much they could do with the character. Sure, you can fly, breathe fire and charge but that gets old after three games. Also, Universal Studios owns the rights to Spyro, and when Insomniac left to become independant they had to leave Spyro behind. They even said they don't want to go back to Spyro because R&C allows them to be more creative.

Your exactly right. Spyro rocked but if they kept goin then it would just get repetitive and they would lose some fans.When they created it they honestly didnt think it would become so big. I will always love the original spyros and want them to come back but really its probly better if they dont. And at least they went on to another great franchise instead of making a sucky one. COme to think of it all their games rock. Havent played much of resistance though.I really should since i got a ps3.

all of you have a point, if they didnt drop the franchise of spyro, it may have been repetitive but have you seen what other developers have done? THEYVE ENDED IT! and now it cant go back and never will, this is something that insomniac shouldve regreted. Whats wrong with working on several titles at once, nintendo are making like 8 or more at the same time. In my opinion, insomniac shouldve kept spyro and used their imaginations a bit more, whilst working on the other great games they have made

I can see what your saying and I wish they would have kept it too.But their are two main reasons they let it go.1-Spyro had no hands so he could pick anything up and like everyone says it would get repetitive.I personally wouldnt care because at least the game wouldnt be ruined.2-They didnt own spyro.Universal Interactive owned part of it.Isomniac wanted to become an independant company so when they decided to, spyro wasnt completley theirs to take.

i understand but how did universal interactive own the rights to spyro if insomniac invented it in the first place? maybe because the target format was playstation? And why did insomniac agree with the other stupid companies to make the spyro games in the future that wouldve ended up crappy? Look at spyro enter the dragonfly! Not one boss! I miss spyro too and i hope someone stands up from the crowd to beg for spyro not to end.

Im not really sure how they owned rights. But isomniac sold it to sony telling them to find a good place to go with it and they sold it to someone else thinking they would keep it up. But instead they completley changed the game and made it go multiplatform.
