On cassette you can change the abbount of teeth very fast and its easier and better than freewheel. Freewheels are gay and i dont think they are availble in 8t or 9t. The smallest i have seen was 13t freewheel.

@dryice129 on a freewheel, the driver is threaded onto the hub shell. these can currently only get as small as 13 tooth. they are generally much cheaper than cassettes, so they are commonly found on lower end bikes.. generally anything under $300 (there are exceptions) a cassette uses a driver that floats over the axle on bearings, or on a high end hub, bushings. the hub shell will not be threaded on a cassette. a cassette can go as low as 8 teeth, so if you want smaller gearing, get a cassette.

I also have a Shadow Rant v2. Best and loudest hub on the market. Best engagement too. Take off the rubber seal or (Silencer) and it rolls smoother too. Ive heard those odyssey cassettes and there about half as loud and lower quality. I say if you are gonna buy a cassette buy the shadow. Worth every penney

The cassette is the one on the silver profile frame. Cassettes let you run run smaller gears in the rear enabling you to run smaller gear on your cranks. They last longer and have distinctive sounds yet the white industry freewheel is just as good as the cassette due to the pawls and has quick engagement is CNC machined and you can rebuild this freewheel. What type of BMX bike are you riding or going to build? street or track?
