  • This was back when the big "E" played Emmons. Anyone out there know when he changed brands?

  • This video represents the masterful touch and tasteful playing that is so much a part of Buddy Emmons......just listen to his execution and you'll see why, like Elvis and Buddy Rich, there will never be another like him. Thanks, Bill, for sharing this with his fans.

  • I don't play no steel, nor any instrument, but I know a genious when I hear one. The best steel player ever, bar none.

  • Buddy Emmons is the KING, and he is the reason I love the steelguitar so much, and I love my 86 Emmons LeGrand and it still sounds and plays wonderful.

  • I would have loved to see the two greats together, Buddy Emmons and Chet Atkins, is there a video anywhere of them?

  • @firstalberta1 Not to my knowledge.

    Bill

  • buddy is so good, I play an emmons also, bought it from bobbe seymour in 1990, it is cherry, black, 8pedals, 7 knee,

  • I liked the song very much. I am a steelplayer in al. I own a emmons lagrande # 008L I bought it in ST.Louis in 1983

  • When I first started learning to play the steel and built my own, coming to a Earnest Tubb & Ray Price dances I was allowed to sit or stand next to Buddy as he played, He always made it seem so effort less, smooth, sweet, pleasant also great to talk to if not playing or involved other wise, really a great guy.

  • Buddy at his best. And nothing can beat the sound of an Emmons guitar.

  • @mauricefan you couldn't be more right!!!

  • I love buddy's playing more than any other steel players and I have loved it for almost fifty years. And I lope to love it for another fifty years.

  • Sweeeeetttttttt!!!!!!!

  • We're so lucky to have these recording done by people at steel guitar shows, and wherever of this great player. Thank God, somebody had the mind set to record it on vido and audio too. I saw Buddy in Dallas and remembered thinking, gee wouldn't it be great to have one of those vido camneras. Glad someone did. Marc Trainor.

  • my dad was always a big fan of buddy emmons and talked about all the great musicians of his time. this is the first time that I have had the pleasure to listen to him myself. I wish my dad was still alive to enjoy all this wonderful music that you can get on you tube. thanks to all who put this great music on here!

  • I played steel for 10 years until I hurt my back and can no longer play. This song was my inspiration to play. Buddy makes it look so easy, but most can tell you it's not.

Thanks SteelPicker Long Live Derby Power!

  • i like! hurt me.

  • Buddy can sure make that steel sing. So soothing.

  • This is one of my favorite solos by Buddy and is one of his favorite too

  • I am spending way to much time on you tube.... but to get to hear some these great cuts by the Big E... is worth every hour I sit here...thanks Bill for the time and hard work you have put in to all this...and to Buddy... for his great playing....as always... keep'em comming....

  • Such a great song. I found this just now, after having found another video, just earlier, of John Hughey and Bill Ferguson playing it.

  • Thank you. This is Buddy, el magnific.

  • One of my favorite pedal steel solos done by the master himself. Thanks for the posting Bill.
