@LilJay7015 Joey was not in this performance. That was Mervyn Warren the original member that Joey replaced in late 1991/ Mervyn went on to write and produce for groups like NSync, Boyz II Men, For Real, AZ Yet...did the whole Dream Girls soundtrack arranging. Joey did not join until the release of the third Album, " He is Christmas". That was the first album with Joey's voice on it.
I have loved music all my life, listen to a wide variety of music, ecletic even and I don't know in my lifetime if I will ever hear again A display of vocalism like Take 6's Mary don't you Weep.
I LOVE Take 6's rendition of this African American spiritual. It's both very skillful and very soulful (that description may be redundant).
I also love Maria Gibb's (the female host) short Afro (natural) hair style. It looks great on her. estylish a Maria Maria may be best known as The Jeffersons' maid Florence.
The male host is also an actor & a singer. His name escapes me (Sorry. I'm having a senior moment. I think his first name is Cliff.) Someone please post his name.
@Centaursdream@Centaursdream Thanks for your correction and also for posting Clifton Davis' name. I knew both names but I didn't remember correctly remember Marla Gibbs' name, and I didn't remember Clifton Davis' last name. Here's some more info about Clifton Davis from his wiki page: [Davis] "appeared on the television shows as A World Apart, That's My Mama and Amen. Davis also wrote several hits for The Jackson 5, including "Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Lookin' Through the Windows."

I love that second call to Mary. If the first call to her didn't get her attention, I know the second call did!

I am trying to figure, at 2:35, how everyone was able to stay in their seats? If I had been there, I wouldn't have been able to contain myself!
