@Luchient ... yes you can and it creates a different ending again, if you send the girl in, she dies and you live.....But if youve done alot of side quests before completing the main story quests, the ending story is longer and more detailed (there is over 55 quests if you bought the GOTY version) for example; if you completed Oasis, The wasteland could be green again or if you kill the tree, Harold the wastes stay radiated......cool huh, ENJOY

Then, you frantically go back into safety, and see Sarah pressing her hand against the glass. You open your pip-boy and search. Then you find it. Your shoulders slump, the answer so obvious now, but obscure through all of your odyssey. You close it, and walk back up. upon entering the keys, you fall to the ground.

Perfect ending. The way the narrator told our tale when we lived. and all those picture of our memories and the background music. It just amplify the feeling of fulfillment that you could only receive when you sacrifice something important for the sake of everyone. even though it just a game it actually bring me to tears when i see this endings, im happy just to know that even though the character die in his journey, but he lives forever in the memory of everyone that he saves along the way...

If you ask me, I don't mind the ending. The only thing they could have done is add more scenes to the ending.

E.g.

If you killed all the slavers in Paradise Falls

They are taking them to Vault 87 to turn them in to Super Mutants and when they are hungry they bring them to the Germantown Police HQ to eat them. But consider Vault 87 the main source of super mutants because of the experiments that were taken there before the Great War, they used the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). Play Fallout 1 to understand more of FEV.

I did the good male/I died/ no virus ending but I agree with StokieStallion that you should live after you skip/watch the credits.....like you should wake up from a coma and you ending up in a rebuilt city thats like 30 years in the future and you can explore the world after the ending or you just wake up in a clinic in the citidel/clinic or wake up outside the radeated chamb
