  • Rolkur has had alot of research done on it - horses ridden in a rolkur often have higher heart/stress levels and is a highly unnatural thing for a horse. Additionally in many of ankys clinics that can be viewed on you tube the horse in the rolkur does not track up in walk or trot and it isn't a pretty picture with her hanging onto the curb..... would be interesting to see how she trains them to do a rolkur as id put money on it that she yanks them round.

  • Weet iemand hoe het lied heet na 2.4

  • she is the best

  • I hate her because all of the things she done are so bad. It is just unforgivable.

She isn't a fair sportler. and even less a horse's friend

  • Do you know what is the canter music please ?

  • @helenemich Roxette, fading like a flower

  • I will tell you the sercet of Rollkur, trainers use this to restrict oxygen to the brain of the horse the horses throax closes up. With less oxygen to the brain the horse then becomes calm and lightheaded and slows down because of to much carbon monoxide in the blood then the horse learns to be submissive to the rider's every comand because of fear of suffcation. Just like when a lion attacks a zebra it will go for the throax and then the drop down so liken these people to beasts of the feld.

  • @Aleks27 Oops, didn't notice that :)

    The walk ?

  • @Aleks27 could you tell me where that is ? I want to see but I cant watch the whole thing.. blegh.

  • just love how the commentator at the beginning says, Anky vann Grunsveennnnnn........... Nederlandeehhh

  • Goodbye all Australian Dressage riders, Anky is on top now!!!!!

  • @BadPony312 jks Edward Gal is..

  • Goosebumps, really! This is amazing!! For me, this is the best performance ever! Even with Edward Gal and Totilas on the top now. Bonfire is the best!!

  • you can tell if a dressage horse is happy- they're relaxed, ears forward or flopping around, foaimg at the mouth becuase they are playing with the bit not fighting it. If the horses weren't happy they wouldn't be behaving

  • I just want this music XD

  • who could be jealous of her haven't seen her on a happy horse once does she even have fun or does she do it to win

  • ze is gewoon de beste EVER!!!!

    i love der soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Haha... yeah there's a reason you guys aren't performing or haven't done a quarter of this shit anky has.. stop hating because your jealous of her.

  • Bonfire was known for his bad walk. Remember not all grand prix horses have amazing paces.

  • @JADWAR1

SORRY HOOR MAAR BONFIRE WON ONGELOOFLIJK VEEL!!!!

    DOM MENS!!!

EN HIJ KAN VERSCHRIKKELIJK GOED LOPEN

ECHT HOOR HOE KAN JIJ ZO DOM ZIJN?!!!

  • @themultihanna

Sorry my dear but I have no Idea what you have just said? x

  • @themultihanna

  • wauw, echt prachtig!

  • But her horses heads don't touch or almost touch there chests? What is wrong with you people can't you see? If her horses were not happy they would show it, a horse will not do the work propley if it is being forced?

  • @Cowgirlleah its called the competition line which means its head is at about 90 degrees and she did a clinic that explained EVERYTHING about it. she is an expert and trust me if she was hurting the horses she wouldnt do it

  • Comment removed

  • Hoe heet de muziek vanaf 2.04? Ik zou dat graag willen weten.

    Groetjes!

  • WAUWW!!

hoe heet de muziek vanaf 3.00???

  • @MsSpriet: Roxette - Fading like a flower

  • die dürften international national garnciht mehr straten .!

    -.-

  • Her horses are stiff, they don't come underneath themselves...why have we made her one of the top riders today??? THIS IS NOT RIDING! This is forced, and painful to watch. I'm glad she doesn't represent my country.

  • @warmbloodsmaximus: I wonder why she is three times gold medal winner????????? Hmmmmmm... explain please....

  • Comment removed

  • haha no problem :)

  • what I said was a reply to "dressage1xx", not quite sure how the confusion came in that it was for you haha. i had actually agreed with your comment and gave it a thumbs up :)

  • Does her lower leg ever stay still? I'd suggest for her and for anyone else to watch people like Courtney King-Dye ride, I've NEVER seen her ride incorrectly. However, when I watch Anky it's sadly all I can think about.

  • Kendallar, Have you been invited to be on the Olympic jury yet? Surely you should be, given the very expert opinions you have....

  • how is that giving an 'expert opinion'? i was commenting on her position. i also have had problems with my lower leg staying still, but riding stirrupless has been helping a ton.

  • But who says a loose lower leg is bad? Its not, it means she allowing her leg to move freely with the movement of the horse.

  • I'm all for moving with the horse. But I don't think Anky really cares about a horse being "free", although that is just an opinion gathered from watching rollkur. I realize you are a huge fan of Anky by watching your video, and I'm not trying to change your opinion of her at all, I'm just simply stating my own, so I hope no one's taking it personally.

  • Im not taking it personally :) Thats fine that its your opinion. From my point of view i think it the independent lower leg allows everything to move freely.

  • K good I just wanted to check to make sure, I'm not here to offend! :) I agree a leg should be independent, but at the same time it should be strong and supportive. However this string of comments has gone on for a long time and I apologize, hondadiva, for all the notifications because of me!

  • @kendallar I'm sorry i saw your comment & i had to 'defend' Anky. At this level of dressage the seat & leg of the rider are completely indipendant, and leg movement is needed to help give various aids- you can't ask for forward movement & flying changes in the same place, it would be confusing for the horse. If you watch you will see a lot more leg movement in top level dressage riders than is alowed of lower level rider.

  • oh no I didn't mean that type of leg movement, of course that's neccessary. I'm talking about a "shaky" leg, just a little loose, that's not asking for anything when it moves.

  • @akebai horses are not overbred like the dogbreeds you mentioned. they do not have these kind of problems because sportshorses are bred to be healthy, strong and athletic animals, nothing like dogs who are often only bred to have a certain look without any funtionaity besides looking appealing tho whomever likes the look of the animal. horseowners want a healthy, strong animal.

  • @merryoxox i agree that horses are generous, but mistreating them will only amount in fighting against the riders force wich will mean you as a rider will need more force to win the horse over. this will show in their performance ,My own horse used to be a dragon when i just bought him... found out he was "broken in " in a rather harsh way and he ( good for him)decided to fight everything. we had to start from scratch. it already cost me half the stable...with him tearing everything down.

  • And exactly what are they suffering from??? Exactly, they are not suffering, how are they suffering?

  • Question:

    baltocribs,

you say that you believe that if the horse shown in the video does not respond to the leg aids, you say he suffers.

Please define suffering, i agree with you but cannot understand how he suffers.

    Thank you

  • i have been a dressage rider for 20 years now, trained young horses, worked with stallions and grand prix horses. I can tell you now that no horse will perform for you if he or she is being mistreated, not at this level. impossible!! i have been to several competitions in wich i saw anky perform with bonfire or other horses and they simply want to work with her. bonfire never missed a beat because anky spent hours searching for the right tunes for her horse's movements .

  • I think horses do perform for you even if they are mistreated. I am not saying that is the case in this instance. I do agree that horses at this level need some innate talent. But, sadly and amazingly, horses are such generous and willing creatures that they will perform for us regardless of whether or not they are treated fairly. I'm not trying to argue or anything. It'd be difficult to get a horse to perform well under poor circumstances, but not impossible... (unfortunately for the horses).

  • ROLLKUR has been banned and put under penalty by the FEI today!!! Thank God!

  • Nederland(L)

  • Balto you REALLY need to get over your dislike of her. Its unneccessary to put her down as this is for people who LIKE and ENJOY watching her. As I've already stated to you my horse was trained Rolkur and was NEVER FOR ONE SECOND in pain. He was checked over by vets and my trainer sells horses to Olympic teams so I do know what I'm talking about. NO rider is stupid enough to LET their horse be in pain. So it would be appreciated if you stopped criticising a WORLD CLASS ATHLETE, which you arent.

  • for christ sake!!! i would love it if I could watch at least one nice video of anky WITHOUT having to read all the stupid comments about rolkur!!!! Cant people just appreciate the amazing stuff that anky does for a change!!!!!!!!

  • why do you have to read the comments, if you're watching the video?

  • Bonfire was such a beautiful horse. He dances across that arena! Look at him, he enjoys every second

  • Bonfire is a true dressage ledgend

  • Bonnie!!! This horse gave me Goosebumbs! One time i saw him at the EC in Arhem! And the whole crowed was in Ohhh and Ahhh when he was doing his passage!

anky sucks!?? Hahaha 3 time olympic champion, 2 different horses! She and Sjef are doing something reaaly good i Think! Whehe

and for the German! We don´t have to drug the horse whehehe!

ANKY She made Dressage To another Level!

  • Anky, you're my idol.

    You rock

Yes, I know I'm only 9, but I am truly inspired. (Lol even tho I'm only at training level lol)

  • Wow. People are so critical. It isn't like you guys have never done something cruel to your horse in your lifetime. I don't see how cruel hyper-flexion is anyways, it stretches the muscles in the back and neck just like a person does with their hamstrings and stuff. Get over yourselves and spend your time complaining about something worth while such as poverty or famine.

  • Scientist have proven that hyper flexion which was thought to stretch the muscels really just withers them. In the wild you will never see a horse in the wild running in hyperflexion do you? I do not care if Anky has the best resme in the world and goes to the Olympics 30 times. Just because someone is famous doesn't mean their good. How about Michael Vick? Should we ignore him and just say oh theres worse, lets focus on poverty and world pandemics cause thats more important than dogs.)=

  • how DARE you compare those two! there is a huge difference between the two. Dog fighting is ILLEGAL where as "The FEI called a meeting of trainers, riders and vets in Lausanne in February of 2006 to discuss the issues arising from the allegations made by the press. The meeting concluded that although potentially damaging in inexperienced hands these methods were acceptable in the hands of experts. "Hyper flexing of the neck" was officially condoned by the recognized regulatory body the FEI."

  • Yes I dare. Just because hyperflexion is not illegal doesn't mean it's right. Tobacco is legal if your 21 so once your 21 does that means its right. No, tobacco still kills no matter the age samw with Hyperflexion and same goes with alcohol. Hyperflexion makes a poor seat for the rider a horse that cannot see and it has been proven fatal by surgeons who say "A horse who's chin is touching or almost touching his chest is fatal." Iv'e never cared for FEI personally, there just show savy's.

  • @baltocribs Actually, Hyperflexion IS an illegal training method within the FEI, I believe it is punishable with suspension, similar to doping offences, but that's just off the top of my head.

Anyway, it's a shame that it seems impossible to get high quality videos of Dressage at the Sydney Olympics.

  • That's because the people in the regulating body are afraid to "rock the boat", knowing that if they say anything against Anky, Andreas and their supporters they will never work again. The system is corrupt and horses are being destroyed every year because of these weak individuals.

  • but shes famous BECAUSE shes good

  • @dressage1xx No she is not good, she is a very ambitous and poor rider. Having her as an idol is like having Hitler as an idol because he was almost ruler of the world. I do not see what you guys see is amazing, all I see is a horse with eyes begging for some compassion that we humans do not seem to see since were so mesmorized by the leg movements. Anky is no better than a circus act. SERIOUSLY! You prove to me scientifically that rolkur isn't abusive then I will start reasoning with you.

  • @baltocribs well it has been proven scientifically that it has no physical side affects

and WTF?! how can you compare anky to hitler?? thats just crazy and seriously inappropriate!

  • @dressage1xx I compare her to Hitler because she does torture horses! You see her as an idol, a queen. She doesn't kill millions of people I'll give you that, but she has the same blindside to suffering just like him weather you see it or not. All you people look at is the horses body and see a robotic horse obeying commands, never missing a beat. You know why? Cause if he did miss a beat he wouls suffer. FEI said there are no side effects. Who are you going to believe? Show savvy's or surgeons?

  • Whoever told you there was no side effects is lying unless you email me the article where you found that. I have heard of only FEI saying that there are no side effects. But those again aren't surgeons and they know little of the anatomy, their just show savvy's who study biomechanichs of elements. Not that that's bad but you need to know science before you make assumptions. I suggest you drop looking up at anky as your queen and pick up an anatomy book and look for yourself. horses dont lie.

  • It isn't until you compare these robot horses to the true classically trained examples that you can see they are working behind the vertical and hardly using their backends. Where is roundness of this horse other than its neck? The judges need re training! Compare with R Sato Invasor

  • @Safwentay Correct you are! I am more of a Nevezorov person personally. But your right, these judges really need some re-trainning. Your also right about how a horse never engages his hindquarters in rollkur and remain flat. Only the head is round, and it's not even correctly round.

  • Some people also believe that pugs and bulldogs are correctly bred, despite their various genetic problems(hips,skin,overheating,breathing... the list goes on) This is kind of what i'm seeing here =[ It's a shame that show people have become so fixated on certain parts that they refuse to or can't see the horses suffering.

  • il ny apas grand chose a dire juste a regarder

  • all i can say to all those haters that the proof is in the pudding, she still wins, no matter what training methods she uses.

  • could everybody who doesn't know what he's talking about please shut up! Can't you see how beautiful this is! especially 3:24

  • hhm i don't really like anky because she is doing "rollkur" or "hyperflexion" and that's really not good for the horses - so i think she really sucks!!

  • To all you haters.....The proof is in her Resume!!!!!

  • Bent Branderup is better.

  • I am Ken van Grunsven its my family :D

  • kennisman1, are you serious? i'd be ashamed to admit that.

  • To ponyf3n the worlds best ridder ever.

    UGH UGH she thinks!!!

I'f never heard of her,did anyone?

You sure think alot of yourself, don't you?

If you don't now what you talk in about, than don't talk or write at all.

  • rosevillmb! here you are again. "what you talk in about" ... "ridder" was already awesome but that put together with you post on the other video is enough to wet my pants. I have already been VERY doubtful about your claims about your horse experience & now I'm left to also doubt that you're really any adult like you claim to be on your profile. Other than that I can tell you that I have the right think good of myself. Any riDer that puts their horse before any attention or placings does.

  • O.O what a twisted walk. my gosh, i dont think ive seen a worse walk in my life. what does she do to that horse to make it walk like that??? :O

  • She needs to relax a bit more and not be so tense.

o.o the horse picks up on it so much.

  • Anky sits so stiff in the saddle that its no wonder Bonfire has NO movement through his back or hind end at all. His tail does not relax once in the whole ride. The parallels of his legs at the extended trot are way off. She has him cranked into a frame so past the third vertebra that he cannot pick him self up off the forehand once. Those three "olympic riders" that you supposedly train under probably ruin horses the same way Anky does. I wish you the best with ruining your horse ;)

  • Ponyshy do you know how sad you sound when you say that you know what your talking about because you "train" with 3 "olympic" riders? Please give me the names of those riders, and please give me at least 10 reasons to justify Ankys riding. Point out where you think she is riding "correctly". Cause apparently you know what your talking about right? Ankys riding is a disgusting display of dressage. Do you know why she wins? Because she is a very COMMERCIAL rider.

  • what's the name of the song at 3.03?

  • Roxette is the band i think.

The name of the song i don't know.

    Succes.

  • Anky is the most amazing her work is fantastic bonfire is just amazing i love her work and watched her since i was little and didnt ride now i am riding dressage

  • This...Woman..Is...GOD

    This is beautiful

  • This is Bonfire's Westside Story. From Atlanta to Athens.:D

    Have the whole album.

  • can i use this super vid for my movies?

  • This is most beautifull thing I have ever seen . I am 13 and I see that one day my dressage riding will be near that If I keep going forward. I need to thank Anky for what she has done for me in my riding life ...

    Thank - you

  • Wow Bonfire is a great horse.

  • Wow. I'm not very interested in doing dressage myself, but Anky makes it look absolutely beautiful. If I did dressage, she'd be the reason!! You know somebody is a great rider when it looks like their horse is doing all the work. xD Anky is wonderdul. Won. Dur. Full. xD

  • anky the best. she's got an sweet heart , her horses loves her too.

and I can know that, 'cause she lives in the same street like me. (:

  • lol id luv 2 do dressage!

  • we as spectators can't ethically comment on anky because we only get to see random videos of her. in reality do any of you know her, see her at her stable ride. no. so whatever you do say is an amateur crap thrown at a youtube video. doing no good to the horses she may be abusing through her techniques. so if you do feel bed about her do something real. not a pathetic comment on the net :)

  • WOW, chill out............

  • I Totally agree with you!

  • i dont know anky but i pent a bit of time a top barn in germany where i watched the technique ued by people who were reagrded a ome of the bet. not a good way to ride, ill put it that way. apology for bad grammer, lap top copped a flood of water from a burt fih tank and now a few button dont work

  • No Why What Does She Do Badly?

  • She train her horse with hyperflexion!!!¨(rollkur)

  • lol shes doesn't do badly, why do you think she's one of the top dessage riders

  • actually horses foam at the mouth because they have clear airways and its the salivary glands working overtime, but yer, unhappy horses won't foam because they are so tense that everything is constricted, a ''happy'' horse is soft and willing, therefore they foam so much.

  • The best in the world(L)

  • FEI on frame. How is it, might I ask, that a horse breaking all mentioned "rules", the FEI's own, and others, can still win the gold medal at the Olympics? This combination doesn't even show anything of what the FEI itself deems as correct. Can someone give me an answer besides "shut the fuck up, you're just jealous"? Or does no one have a reasonable, legitimate answer? And come one people, his walk is disgusting, he looks like a pacer in shackles, and they gave her 9's for it!

  • I Dont Know Were Your Goin With His Walk! Its Perfect!

  • yea, sure it is...

  • if you dont know anything avout dressage than i understand the goal for the walk is free and marching forwmard while keepining a stedy tempo and slight over track so her walk that she is executining is ideal an dont start statining FEI until u are riding 3rd level

  • hahaha well i got my laugh for the day out of you. third level...try training grand prix. but im not here to preach my credential. bonfirez walk iz awful. period. why dont you try reading up the FEI rulez etc and try to learn a bit about equine movement. maybe then youll notice many the faultz they mention az major degredationz of movement are all prezent in bonfire

  • How can you even be so ignorant as to try to tell me that that walk is ideal. He is nowhere near tracking up in the collected walk, it is lateral and he is constantly behind the vertical. In the extended gait he is still lateral and barely tracking up at all. There should be a large over track in the extended gait and ideally in the collected he should, at the least, be tracking up. lateralizing of the walk is described by the FEI as a serious fault and degredation of the gait.

  • And anyone with any knowledge what so ever should be able to recognize a lateral walk. If you want a reason to do dressage, why dont you look up phillipe karl. Or Reiner Klimke. Their work is something to aspire to.

  • you know how sad you are i laugh one your criticizing a 7 time gold medlest 2 i dought you are at grand prix level 3 your just one of those morons that has no clue and no trainer i train under 3 olympic riders so i know what i am talkining about

  • Im apparently sad enough to recognize what a lateral walk is, if you and your trainers are as great as you seem to think you are then you should be able to recognize it too, and for what it indicates-bad training

  • i agree. his walk looks awful. looks a bit tense in walk too. and kinda had the over all impession of 'walking on egg shells' in his walk. def not a 9! i swear judges just give her really high marks cause of "who she is"

  • I've got a funny example for you of bias judging ouside of the top competition rings of europe. A woman over here purchased Prestige VDL, I horse that I always loved and said to mum she should've used even when he was in the Netherlands. She's had him for 18 months now and he's going beautifully but she said no matter what she can't beat our only 2 dressage reps from the olympics, Kallista Feild and Louisa Hill. Even at HOY, where there were guest judges from Europe who marked her ahead of..

  • of the both of them, the kiwi judges wouldn't place her ahead of them. I imagine possibly because there is a stigma attached to having competed at the Olympics. It might just be a conspiracy theory but I reckon that bias judging happens a lot, everywhere. Dressage is not a fair competition by ny means because it's all based on a certain panel of judges opinion and no matter how "well educated" these people claim to be, they will always be affected by there own beliefs, likes and dislikes and..

  • not nessacerily judge what is actually correct. Example above. They are only human, but it's gotta stop. It gives the green light to people who try to emulate what she does and that leads to the ruin of many, many horses. The fact that her horses are not correct by even the FEI's terms is bad enough, but it makes her practises OK, desirable even, when it's far from acceptable..someone once said when we ride, we borrow freedom and that should always be remembered :P

  • getting wide behind or in front, moving too much forward or double beat rhythm are serious faults" FEI on Piaffe

"swinging the forehand or the hindquarters from one side to the other, as well as jerky movements of the forelegs or the hind legs.." FEI on passage.

The head should remain in a steady position, as a rule slightly in front of the vertical, with a supple poll as the highest point of the neck"

  • The walk is a marching pace in a regular four time beat. and When the fore leg and the hind leg on the same side move almost on the same beat, the walk tends to become an almost lateral movement. This irregularity, which might become an ambling movement, is a serious deterioration of the pace. FEI standard. "crossing either the fore or hind legs, or swinging either the forehand or the hindquarters from one side to the other..

  • Brilliant!! The horse is dancing!!!!

  • nice xD

  • ouch

  • One thing I love about Anky's performances are that the horses look to be having so much fun.

  • they are! have you noticed how the horses foam at the mouth? do you know why they foam at the mouth? no not because they have rabies. its because they are having a good time and are happy! isnt that great!?

  • lol no its not. its a sign of acceptance of the bit. but there are actually many resons why horses foam at the mouth.. some been good (as here i imagine) some not so good i.e because the bit is too thick in the horses mouth and they cant swallow properly ( not the case here) but ya get me.. horses dont foam when happy LMAO.

  • Onze Anky...geweldig!!!

    Met tranen de kur gekeken.

  • Yes GOLD again for the 3th Olympic in a row. History legend is made!!!!!!

  • Geweldig =]

    muziek van Black Beauty nietwaar?

  • jaaaa beautifulll <333

    ik hou van ankyy!

  • marc slings zeker hahahahahha

  • Echt waar !

    heel mooi!

  • It's really inspiring that Bonfire did so amazingly well at such a level of competition in dressage. I own a mare quite similar to him, very hot (1/2 TB) leggy and very elegant, but a really hot gal! Some days she's the most frusterating horse in the world, but, I know it'll pay off eventually. :)

Thanks Bonfire, for being a great role model.

  • Jacko, anky and salinero are the 'best' some days and not others. This hero worship thing is wearing a little thin! They are very good, but attacking anyone who doesn't agree verse and letter with you is childish!

  • Bambalovertjeeh relax the horse's official name is changed when the rider's sponsor changes. Gestion, Keltec, are just sponsors of riders.

  • don't believe everything you read. Some people are just bloody jealous and will use anything to bring her down

  • Well spoken Saatjre05

  • o wrong one xD

  • dammit all i read on page 6! the REAL Name from Salinero is: Keltec Salinero they calling him IPS Salinero or Salinere UNDERSTAND!?! And bonfire his real name is: Gestion Bonfire and there calling him: Camelon Bonfire or: Bonfire so happy now!?! you're so stupid Jaccko14 and the most SUPID of you all (xD) is: piaffe1 damn evrey1 think Anky is the bad onest no she is the BEST of all! on number 1: Anky van Grunsven with Keltec Salinero on number 2 Isabel
  • Keltec IPS Gestion and Cameleon are all just sponser names. It's usually the sponser that goes first and THEN the actual horse's name.

  • cameleon, IPS, Gestion, keltec and olympic, is a name of a concern, it's not the name of the horse.

  • ja vast nathalieke moeten wij geloven xD
