  • @ aneuryzm im wid u bro!!!!

  • Been here a long time ago in 2004, snuck up at around 2am... believe what you see with your own eyes.

  • time to listen to welcome home sanitarium by metallica

  • I've been here. It Is AWESOME !

  • Fuck if i go in here Im thaking chuck norris with me

  • @stuartpatto1976 So am i!

  • I LUVVV places like this. Am hoping to visit in the near future, and depending on funds at the time, I hope to spend the night.... but it is a 9 hr drive... .....How I wish Asheville had places like this......unfortunately we are too "mamby-pamby" for the bad stuff.....everyone votes it down......I do not believe in ghosts, but I am all for the thrill of seeking out the haunted.....ANYWHERE !!

  • @lilbear1967 me too!

  • i hope when i die i become a ghost so i can scare the shit out of people and be on paranormal tv i would also like to have a ghost of my own (prefuribly a girl) that way we can have paranormal slumber partys together ^-^ (don't anyone replay if your gonna ruin my fun) i'm looking on the bright side of death :)

  • @ThePngwn When I die, I wanna become a ghost so I can walk through walls and then giggle in delight.

  • i wanna make a group of people who will go with for the whole night anyone in

  • What's the tunnel like? only one way to find out, go down it...twice...once in daylight second time at night, find out whats at the bottom of the rabbit hole....

  • I went there a couple of days ago. It might be big and creepy, but it is sure not scary

  • The ghosts try to tell you, that u have to grow up people....

  • 63,000 dead? NO it was 6,000 go read it on wikipedia.

  • Is a shame how the owner makes a living like this. I also agree that this building should be blessing so dead could rest in peace.

  • i live really close to this place an it is GIGANTIC. its ridicules. going there this halloween! cant wait!

  • I live 45 minutes from waverly and yes it is haunted I went with a few friends way before a film death tunnel was ran and yes it is very haunted. Some of the things though now that is owned are put in. Yet When I went paranormal activity the film no sad this is real. Don't believe me take a ouja board in you will not like what happens within a few weeks. peace and it is open for tour all year it is booked for now you can sleep there now for Halloween. Peace the film is good.

  • Yeah me and my friends were there every night in the late 80's early 90's one friend actually lived there right out side in a mobile home. We played man hunt in there alot and one guy,a close friend, liked tohide in the morge in the fridge lol thats one thing I never did.

  • This place, reminds me of Danver's Insane Asylum, ecspecially the dark and creepy hallways showing all the rooms. How come the ghost show on A&E Paranormal State has never visited this place?

  • @stonerguy19666 because they don't have the balls to

  • @stonerguy19666 cuzz they are to scared

  • I suggest to burn that place to the ground. Bad vibes comes from that place. It was a place of sickness, blood and despair. Bad energy though. There are some people who survived it but still its less compared to the many who died. The ground must be cleansed after that building is destroyed.

  • echt gruselig- glaub daran 63000 tote da sind bestimmt noch welche!!!!!!!!

  • the full documentory WAS on youtube but for some reason anyone who had a copy had to remove it...

    stupid youtube always ruining things

  • what they did to the people there was an atrocity and inhumane. it saddens me to think of all the people who died there as part of "medical treatment". of course that pennhurst state hospital in pennslyvania was no better either.

  • I agree with RevolutionaryTea...

  • ive been in that slot ive never coming back.. it was insane!! it scared the shit out of me,u know i pissed in my paints when i was in there!!! (that was not funny!!!!)

  • I stayed the night there not to long ago and saw some creepy stuff and even had a door shut of course i go with the logical reason and say it was the wind but you never know. I kind of agree with RevolutionaryTea i think we should have more respect for those who died there also i dont like the way some of the workers there force the ghosts to do stuff.

  • 0:52, did you see the eyes of the woman laying in the next bed? Its very freaking spooky.

  • @sandor139 she is wearing glasses

  • This is already out right?

  • i dont particularily beleive in ghosts but i wouldnt want to stay there. If i did i would somehow convince my mind into thinking there is something in there and freak myself out.

  • My friends & I would sneak into the Waverly at night all the time as teenagers. The scariest thing to ever happen would be getting chased off by police or running into another group of kids. This was a popular place to party in the early to mid 90's. I think the only people that see ghosts period are people that believe in that sort of thing. People hear noises or see shadows they don't recognize & their minds fill in the blanks with all sorts of silly things.

  • my dad and his friends would run up and down the body chute alot as kids and would knock on a wall or make a noise then run and would scare the shit out of people there lol

  • exactly. confirmation bias is a bitch.

  • This seems to be some kind of tourist attraction. I think that only the bad reputation of the establishment makes people "believe" in the phenomenons. And the in that video, the clips from the horror movie "Death Tunnel" decrease the trustworthiness of the tape:D

  • @aneuryzm about 4 guys lived there for years! each time the police came they just hid, they were interviewed on local tv, never did they enconter anything, one guy was living there for just about 10 yrs! mybee homeless or addicts, paranormal activity could care less! anyway, just wanted to post it! who the hell would live there!!!!!

  • @hop21537 I would

  • @aneuryzm exactly! but then again...sometimes you can't be rational enough to tell your mind not to do that. even if you know how the whole thing works...

  • @aneuryzm And possibly people who don't want to "see things" write them off as "noises" or "shadows" and chalk them up to other people "seeing things". lol

  • @aneuryzm

  • @aneuryzm I use to feel the same way about the belief in ghosts till I had an unexplainable situation happen to me in my own living room. But it was not scary at all, just a bit startling. And when I say unexplainable, I mean, there was no way for me to understand what had happened. I just remember laying on the couch saying "huh...ok...that was weird." I then rolled over and went back to sleep...lol

  • I will be working there for the next 5 weeks, for Halloween..I will be posting some pics that I will take inside Waverly Hills, on my blog page. Last year I was a Doctor. I seen people wanting out before there tour was even done.

  • they were thinkin of puttin a hotel in this place witch is very bad they also have now security cameras runnin 24/7 in this place

  • wow...people actually believe this superstitious crap?

  • yea well apparently graffiti artists are ok 2 ghosts or maybe ghosts tag in there free time anybody believein in this b.s. not me!

  • I remember watching this, it was really good! Someday, I want to go there!

  • I seen this!

  • does sanitorium mean asylum?

  • i LOVE SEX

  • That place is freaking HUGE!

  • @AshandSmoke its realy big i know

  • yeah yeah yeah it's not scary at all i've been there in fact i live 3 blocks away

  • What street do you live on? What is the name of the neighborhood you live in?

  • Dude, its in the middle of the damn forest.

  • this shit is not real at all, i mean ppl have died there, but i live by waverly and i havent seen any ghost. and ive bn in there too.

its all an act. the stupid ass tour guider said, "hey u wanna see a ghost?" we all said yeah, he pointed and there was nothing there no one else saw it either, how can a ghost pop up on ur command?

  • what ever weak ass place isnt worth your money fools

  • damm idiots that place is not haunted

  • dont fall for this con of it been haunted cause its not they will tell you anything to get you booked in to get your money your and idiot if you belive this crap

  • i am from Czech Republic and i wanna see this place.i want to go there!!!!!!!!!!!!it's very good!

  • trust me every bit of this is true ive been there, it costs 50 bucks a night, but if u stay u get ur money back.

  • What, to sleep there or to take the tour?

  • idiot.....you cant stay the night.....you never could. stupid rumors. its being turned into a hotel

  • how do you go about doing it?

  • If they made a movie about Waverly hills hospital.

  • I have one question? What is TAPS cause if its a documentary is that an abbreviation of another ghost documentary, just wanna know cause i love these and wat to see any i missed. Cheers

  • TAPS is a ghost hunting team.

    "The Atlantic Paranormal Society"

They have been to the sanitarium i believe 2 times.

  • TAPS is an organization. They have their own tv show on scifi called ghost hunters.

It stands for The Atlantic Paranormal Society

  • TAPS is different from Booth Brother's Spooked TV. TAPS is The Atlantic Paranormal Society. TAPS actually does "Ghost Hunters" on Sci Fi, which is real in my opinion (people vary on that note), and it's really not a documentary, most of the TAPS shows are actually investigational... Most of the Booth Brothers' films are paranormal documentaries.

  • If they turn the Waverly Hills Sanatorium into a hotel, i wonder what the people staying there will hear at night. I honestly think they shouldn't touch it.

  • i see part of the structure collapsing before to long.

  • i live right down the street from that. it is freaky. ive been in there and i was pregnant and i passed out,.

  • anyone up for a night at Waverly Hills Sanatorium xD

  • that face is fucking scary.

  • The living ( especially the ones who cause death) scare me alot more than the dead do. I'd stay there in a heartbeat. Sounds crazy, I'll give you that, but think about it; imagine how great it would feel going home the next day knowing you helped one of those tortured souls move on to a place of peace.

  • Attention everybody! Waverly Hills will be remodeled into a hotel/casino/spa. It will replace much of the original building (walls, etc) ruining a lot of history. This will also eliminate the great tours and all-night investigations that are currently provided there.

  • They can't be serious! With the place as active as it is now, I can't wait to see what happens once they start the renovations!

  • they aint gonna build it because by the time its night time and there still working they gonna be dead :P

  • are you fucking serious this is one of the most awsome places in the world

  • That sucks so much! This is history we're talking about! I hope the construction workers get injured while turning it into a stupid hotel for a greedy CEO tycoon asshole.

  • i heard they will turn it into a park

  • so you hope the hard-working construction workers who dont have a choice on the matter get injured rather then the CEO?

  • Why the hell would you wish that on someone? What good is this ugly old building doing this community now? The history is very neat but its just an eyesore in the citys eyes

  • well its a huge attraction. just like a theme park the new owner charges people to take a tour around the place. it's historic

  • dude the buildings old architecture is beautiful are you smoking crack. also noone can even see it unless you go right up on it because its in a private area, its not like its a bilboard like hanging there in the middle of the highway. do you even live in louisville, or even kentucky???

  • @xXD0m1nato0rXx yeah, it can't be seen by everyone, it's up on a fucking hill in the middle of nowhere, you know where's the Bobby Nichols Golf Course, there's a road there that leads to the sanatorium but it's up there, it's private property and no trespassing signs warn you......

  • i went there last summer cause my familys lives in louisville i go there every summer and there were so many ghost stories told y there but it was a blast

  • wooow! very cool vid...

  • I went on an overnight hunt last night. It's definitely not for the faint at heart. Very, very scary and at times, terrifying.

  • It's going to be torn town this July!!!

Paranormal groups are paying lots of money to get in there before the cut off date! They are booked solid!

  • bullshit...i went last night, they arent tearing it down, i talked to the owner myself

  • its abandond...

  • its crazy but i do fell very sorry for all of these poor souls died and they are still there

  • I have been to Waverly hills i live 45 minutes from it. Its an awsome place and the movie death tunnel really don't show the place justic in my opinion its diffrent. My friends and i did an investagation there and its total worth going you guys will love it .

  • i heard its gonna be a hotel soon

  • Seriously? That's not a good idea lol

  • im from southern indiana across the bridge to luoisville and i had to doa report on this.. i know live in canada...... and it is really spooky k i wanna go there someday

  • I hope that the ghosts of waverley hills rest in peace.

  • The place needs to be torn down, it looks unsafe.

  • i want to go there! XD it would be fun

  • damn i really want to go there, i saw the movie death tunnel a few hours ago.

i like all that spooky ghost stuff, but i dont think i can ever go there any time soon, rofl

  • I don't want them to tear it down. I think it'd be great if someone bought it for historic purposes like so many have already said before me. But even then, I find my wanting that selfish. The cause of death and afflicted life of these patients was tragic enough. But to be stuck in and constantly living it? Horrible. I hope they find peace. Whatever it takes.

  • When you buy Resident Evil 5 you could win 2 tickets to this place!

  • I'm going there on spring break! I cant wait!

  • man if thed make that into a haunted house for halloween they would make a fortune thad be one scary haunted house haha

  • Honestly I could never see that happening because in real life so many died that the place is considered in many circles a forbidden area because of so much death. Kinda like a Native American burial ground, or a church cemetary. Except at Waverly you went in and didn't come back... Ever.

  • They actually kind of do. I live within 20 minutes of the place and I know the owner, Tina Mattingly somewhat personally...

  • they do, ever year

  • You know what if the owner of Waverly actually did that she would have the money for restoration in no time soon

  • She does...every Halloween.

  • yea she can restore the wonderful history of the hospital into a new one for the ghosts. even the structure represents alot from the past

  • they have halloween tours every year, you should check it out!

  • When you had TB in those days you didn't go there because you wanted to, you were sent there. You were ripped from your family and friends and sent among strangers that really didn't give a damn.

  • man i would be so scared to sleep there.

  • u know as much as creepy this place is i heard they made the best meals when this place was still working ^_^

  • "either i go where there is peace or else i get better, hope is all we have... hope for a cure." when i hear that for some reason i think of AIDS O_O

  • i heard they are making waverly hills into a hotel?

  • Yes, the owner wants to make it a hotel.

  • If people wanted to stay there they would be out of their fucking minds. o.o

  • yeh fuck tht id never st@y there not @t night or d@y nope sc@ry pl@Ce not @z bad az black star canyon its out in calli oe az idk but its spos 2 be home 2 some pretty messed up shit like there is satanic rites th@t go one out there @ll the time messed up h@ve @ good 1 pe@ce

  • I hadn't heard that. I know they open it every Haloween to tours, though.

  • WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT BLDG.?

  • wait is this place real? if so i saw a movie about this but i thought it was fiction o-O

  • bullseat leyer

  • busheat

  • Is it true that this documantitation is faked? because the movie death tunnel to say thats true? And I think those gohst find things are faked allover^^ I dont understand that everyone see just the gohsts and not the nice and bombastical house.

  • its funny , the owners of the building are the only ones who say they are scary, everyone else admits there realty but not that they are threatening , greedy sobs have to screw with the spirits and change what they are with there constant prodding , i honestly hope a spirit kills the owners one day to be completely serious , theyd have it coming....

  • I am from Louisville and I am disgusted with the current owners of Waverly Hills. They have NO respect for the thousands who perished there. The building should either be purchased by a historical society or torn down and have a monument to the dead erected in its place. The building itself is amazing...I don't believe it's the scariest place on earth. The owners just want money. Horrible.

  • i agree to a point but isnt that the point in life to make monney if you had a building that big would you spend 50000 or try to make 50000 i know wot i would do

  • @RevolutionaryTea I'm from Louisville too, and I don't agree with what you're saying......c'mon are you kidding?? A building like this, with its huge historical value, and its beauty, torn down??

And then, this place has really something weird in it, I've been there and saw and heard things that I could never explain, because they just can't be explained......

  • @RevolutionaryTea I agree with you 100% They should bless the building so that the ghosts can actually rest in peace! D:

  • @RevolutionaryTea Very well said. Our society scarcely respects the living, let alone the dead. If there is anything there, its name is grief and sadness, and shame for trying to capitalize on it.

  • @RevolutionaryTea i see where you're coming from, but the majority of the money is going towards restoring the building, and giving ghost tours like they're doing now gives people who are fascinated and want to experience the paranormal a good chance to have an encounter

  • @RevolutionaryTea so you believe its haunted, cause i plan to go there soon, i want to find out?

  • @RevolutionaryTea monument of the dead " ERECTED"

please sir there are kids on youtube XD

  • People can say what they want of what they've "heard". Historical records are correct and the present owners only want to conserve it as a historical site. We went last spring and enjoyed the tour. It was very unique and not scary at all. There was definitely something there but no one can know for sure. Check out their website for details, I can't remember much more than that.

  • Jeeze.. scary.

  • i live close to there im a louisvillian ive been there many times it isnt that scary but the ghosts are real and they really do still scare you just go and see for yourself

  • I know I go there alot even though I live in cincinnati and the Ghost are crazy real

  • I think they're going a bit overboard I mean 63,000 in one hospital Bah maybe 6,000 but not 63,000

    I think they're exaggerating there.........

  • This is retarded. Making it look like these spirits are scary. Yes people died there but all the spirits are either friendly or just ignore you. The staff that was killed is no longer hanging on to that place. God sent them straight to hell. Why He left some of the victims behind only He knows. But in all the reported cases no one was hurt, felt threatened or saw anything completely horrifying.

  • MercuryBB I think your also right but lets not forget demon entities and shadow people

  • Thank you. Someone who has some sense about this. Too many people say it's scary or dangerous, etc.

  • I wonder which one is scarier, Sloss Furnace or Waverly Hills Sanitorium...?

  • I live near Sloss Furnace but i'm not sure which one is more scary well at the sloss furnace they add more stuff around halloween to scare the crap out of you but it depends on the type of spirits that lurk within. And Sloss has some really creepy places to explore but i'm not sure about Waverly

  • maigda22 that is false you do not!recieve your money back, whoever told you that is misinformed. The money goes to the restoration of the property. i,ve been there twice and going back nov 7 to spend the nite again.sry you were misinformed

  • My mom spent a yr at Waverly Hills when she was 17 back in the 50's. She graduated high school there from her hospital bed. Her dad passed away there. They used to bang on the pipes to communicate with each other as they were 1 floor apart. When i was growing up Mom told me many stories about Wavwely Hills. i have many b/w photos of their time there. The wildest thing, i believe, is the body shoot! I do feel that Waverly Hills has some significant value to our history.

  • i went there and stayed the night it was so scary!

  • how did u stay there where u alone or how and did u see anything?

  • yeah over 63,000 people dead theres bound to be ghost everywhere

  • ATTENTION EVRYONE WHO CARES ABOUT WAVERLY HILLS!

People might turn this place into a fancy-shmancy hotel, forgetting its history.

Please sign this petition against it at the link below. Type it into the URL bar (copy & paste won't work).

  • what town is Waverly Hill is actually in cuase i want go there and see if i can get that 502 off that room

  • i went there i felt cold spots everyehere and a door opened by itself i also herd a laught of a man on the second floor

  • WTF its an Historical Monument....So I seriously doubt it.

  • bombing wont help anything,kelly8815! just tell them to go see the light!

  • they should bomb the building, so all the souls of thousands of children go to heaven.beccause all the staff is in hell all ready. god bless the children souls. may they find peace soon.

  • WTF its an Historical Monument...so I seriously doubt it.

  • your right about the kids finding peace. but not bombing history that reminds us we are not alone when we think we are

  • good answer

  • owned at the same time

  • bible says DNT JUDGE

  • yes it possible to stay the night there.i've done it. you play 100$ and you stay 8 hours/considered all night cause you leave to go there around 8 or 9...you CANNOT scream, run, or hide, because overnight, they have control over you. if you leave, scream or hide, you do not get your 100$ back. but if you dont....you get your 100$ back.

  • thats friggen awesome, I think I might pack the fam up, and take a trip there. Laugh be kinda cool, since I don't scare would be nice to do it for free. Laugh

  • sorry maigda that is false,i,ve been there 2 times and going back on the 7th of nov ,i never ran or screamed lol .the money is to renovate the property ,really there is no refunds for bravery lol thnx mick

  • Actually. It's been demolished I've heard. the Asylum technically no longer exists from what I do know and have heard.

  • Actually, I've been reading that it's being restored and renovated.

  • your kidding right? D:

  • yes its being restored and renovated on one side of of the buliding on one end has new windows i live about 45 minutes from waverly. It is such a beautiful building

I have pictures of it that i took about 3 months ago.

  • I so want to go! Is it possible to stay the night there? It's better than renting a hotel! =D
