I am plant-based. My feelings are exactly the same. No conflict here. But, we have a dilemma, and that is we live in a farming community. I have hundreds of steer that go to slaughter every 2 months or so. We walk by them when they are grazing and watch them grow from a small calf to an adult steer/meat. One day, they disappear. My heart sinks because I know exactly what happens in slaughterhouses by personal experience. What can we say to touch the minds of the farmers to help them shift?
@ThinkPureTruth I like your post and I like your name. If you haven't already, please take the time to watch the following youtub video: Talk - Howard Lyman - Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won't Eat Meat. Maybe there is something Howard says that you can share with the farmers.
@RewardHonesty Thank you and Peace to you as well. I saw Howard back in 2000 in an EarthSave event in New Haven, Connecticut. He and I spoke about 10 minutes. I was still hemmin and hawin about some meat and was not ready. And so the struggle began. But, at 56 now, I feel great as Tony the tiger says. Fruit, vegetables, starches, grains, (some seeds and nuts(I mean a real small amount, maybe 1 day a week)). I will take your advice and watch this video. Thanks again
@ThinkPureTruth Interesting to read your post. I have transitioned to a nearly 100% raw vegan diet and have gotten rid of lifelong sinus congestion, heart palpitations, sluggish thinking, hypoglycemia, insomnia, and lots of other problems. "You don't know you're not healthy until you really get healthy" Heard this said once and it sure applies to me.
Hope you can reach those farmers. You are doing your part and we all should do what you are doing. We have to try, every one of us.
@RewardHonesty Hi again. I just finished watching the whole 1 hour 7 minute video you recommended. It made me want to go to Law School at 57 yrs of age. Anyhow, yes, we do have a lot of work to do. The people that think in the long run do think differently. Those that live for immediate pleasures only, don't live that long. Eating vegan fresh food, not processed vegan food full of oils and chemicals will always increase the quality and longevity of our lives. I eat lots of raw as well. Who r u?
Something IS strengthened within us when we change the way we eat! John is not only correct but right in the most universal way (and he knows it of course); I have found the same thing... all my clients and friends... have experienced the Power Of Living Truth... as we have changed our diet significantly... John is one of the BEST speakers ever.
John is such an inspirational speaker and the Meals for Health program is such a wonderful thing. In addition to my hearing John speak I also heard several people speak about their experiences from being in this program. It was absolutely amazing how these people transformed their health in just a short period of time. They had been on drugs and getting treatments while still being very sick. It 's truly astonishing what a plant based diet did for them. It is really moving to hear their stories
