I wanted to ask u a general question regarding my bench, if ok? I'm sure it's good to vary it, but I feel that I get much more of an overall upper body 'pump' using DB's opposed to a barbell. Like most people, my dumbbell press is slightly lower than my barbell press.
If I chose to focus my flat bench around dumbbells would that be pointless? I would surely switch it up occasionally, but I would like to incorporate one or the other as my primary bench. Thanks!
@4806577005 either you body holds the last bit of fat right at round the mid section, measurment of your bodyfat is off and/or you development of your core is not strong enough. Just my opinion off my experience because most of my guys that I measure at 8% bodyfat have solid abs development.
@4806577005, treat your abs like every other muscle group and over time you'll develop deep enough separation to make them more noticeable. That or you might not actually be 8% bodyfat. No offense, could just be measured incorrectly. Even with minimal ab separations 8% should be showing pretty nicely

Thus, kinesiologically, I believe, given such shorter-limb range of motion than men of the 5' 11'-6' range, he's the type perfectly capable of lifting such heavy freaking weight loads.
I am not reducing his results to the work of sheer genetics either; hypertrophy can only be causes by a stressor upon tissue...NOT drugs.
Tuan looks so beautiful here. His skin has the tone and sheen of optimal health. He also seems, from this clip anyway, to be perfectly proportioned, thick and powerful. Not just another beautiful body, Tuan is a true, true athlete.

It's not difficult for me to believe that you are natural. Lots of guys are as big as you without the use of any drugs. Even Arnold was big at the age of 16 before ever touching steroids. Compare natural guys like you and Jim Cordova with the behemoths at elitefts who move massive poundage while taking d-bol and consuming lots of calories. Eating big and lifting big are the keys to getting big without drugs, but to get huge like today's Olympians, you need drugs. Screw the keyboard warriors.
I've been watching the Tuan Tran vids for years, and what I've noticed is an athlete dedicated to lifting, to powerlifting, to bodybuilding, spending what appears to be endless hours practicing his posing, doing a hundred exercises that no one else has done (except fighters). And the result is that awesome body. Men in their 20s have abundant testosterone and growth hormone, if they're healthy and get the right nutrition -- this guy works out hard, and it shows. Kudos to Tuan Tran!

Tuan, I have another question that may test your knowledge as a personal trainer. I am well toned and muscular everywhere. However, my belly still protrudes. Unless I suck it in and flex it. But it feels solid. Someone suggested it might be fat under and around my abs, that is pushing the ab muscles out. Any thoughts? Yes, I can pinch more than an inch around my midsection, but I can't explain this rather "solid" protrusion. Anyone else have this problem? Do I just need better diet and cardio?
Its called Visceral fat. Visceral fat is different from other body fat. Visceral fat, also called intra-abdominal fat, refers to the fat that surrounds the internal organs. Subcutaneous fat, on the other hand, is body fat that is close to the skin's surface and is considered less dangerous, and easier to lose, than visceral fat. I think I've seen this squat version before called a "goblet" squat. But yeah it helps you learn to balance so that your squatting technique is good. Great vid and good luck for your contest.

mostly fat burning (low intesity) cardio. biking or walking. no intervals because the resistance training has been burning up most of my glycogen, so the cardio is pure fat burning

@roughneckasian Tuan, this is an extremely interesting statement. So with your HR monitor I guess you are able to choose the zone you want to do your cardio at but with glycogen gone, I still don't see where you find the energy--I just bonk at that point.

Don't mean to be rude but how can your heart rate monitor actually be measuring anything with it so low....its way down past your heart and sternum. If it was just for show, for the video...understandable.
@roughneckasian Wow! I use a polar one and I have problems with it picking up a consistent heart rate if it slips slightly. Maybe there is a big price and quality difference between yours and my £70 one :)

But it feels solid. Someone suggested it might be fat under and around my abs, that is pushing the ab muscles out. Any thoughts? Yes, I can pinch more than an inch around my midsection, but I can't explain this rather "solid" protrusion. Anyone else have this problem? Do I just need better diet and cardio?

Its called Visceral fat. Visceral fat is different from other body fat. Visceral fat, also called intra-abdominal fat, refers to the fat that surrounds the internal organs. Subcutaneous fat, on the other hand, is body fat that is close to the skin's surface and is considered less dangerous, and easier to lose, than visceral fat. Hope this gives you a better understanding of what you may have

I think I've seen this squat version before called a "goblet" squat. But yeah it helps you learn to balance so that your squatting technique is good. Great vid and good luck for your contest.

mostly fat burning (low intesity) cardio. biking or walking. no intervals because the resistance training has been burning up most of my glycogen, so the cardio is pure fat burning

@roughneckasian do u do ur cardio when u wake up on an empty stomach to ensure using stored fat for energy to burn? and are u saying low intensity cardio burns fat faster and better than HIIT?

@roughneckasian Tuan, this is an extremely interesting statement. So with your HR monitor I guess you are able to choose the zone you want to do your cardio at but with glycogen gone, I still don't see where you find the energy--I just bonk at that point.

Thanks, I hadn't seen this version of squats before. When my knee recovers, I'll give it a try. Thanks also for showing it from both the side and the front. Too many demos show only one angle, so you can't always tell what's happening.

Don't mean to be rude but how can your heart rate monitor actually be measuring anything with it so low....its way down past your heart and sternum. If it was just for show, for the video...understandable.

believe or not, it picks up the pulse with no problems even when it is set that low. it never gives me any problems

@roughneckasian Wow! I use a polar one and I have problems with it picking up a consistent heart rate if it slips slightly. Maybe there is a big price and quality difference between yours and my £70 one :)
