iphone in the uk comes with unlimited internet. wifi is included in your standard data charge - and is subject to o2 charges. the G2 on t mobile doesn't have any wifi charges.

LOL iphone 3gs is still the most sought out phone. It is belive me alot better than any phones out. It can be unlocked so easily, jailbroken meaning you can add stuff even like game boy emulator. With 1bill apps, u cannot get bored with iphone. Iphone >all

kulosek, the iPhone first came out in 2007, I've had touch screen phones and touch screen pdas like 7 years before that.

Microsoft was there way before Apple, and Palm way before Microsoft. Apple just made it pretty.

How responsive is the touch screen compared to the iPhone?

I hate HTC's touch Flo text screen. I dont want to flick through one text at a time. I want to see as many as possible at once with quick access to all my messages. Its one of the reasons I removed touch flo from my Touch HD. Now using WM 6.5 and Mobile Shell 3 (with some touchFlo stuff)

You sure you know how to use your phone, you can access the inbox from touch flow by clicking all messages. This phone here doesn't have WM on it, it's android and HTC finally can make software work without the restrictions of WM.

reports from the web say that it has got a far better video recording that exists on the latest iphone and it can run much more video formats than iphone at present. Also, it will most likely run third party media players which can transform its potential as a wonder phone as its OS is open. Just see what CorePlayer did to windows mobile....

Far better video recording? Isn't the maximum recording resolution on this phone 352x288? The latest iPhone is 640x480@30fps. Where can I read these "reports from the web"? I hope you're correct, but I'm pretty skeptical.

Thanks again! I have yet to see a comprehensive review of the media playback (music and video) on this device. People are saying this could be an "iPhone Killer", but if the media player sucks... clearly they are mistaken. Also, I think you'd be the first to do so. Lastly, still I notice the UI is laggy. The transition from home-screens and accelerometer "flip" are dangerously uncomfortable. Lastly, is it possible to reduce home screens? Say from 7 to 3? Seems like it would free resources.

Looks are superb on this Phone!

I'm thinking about buying one.

But when i see videos about this phone,

none of them show a perfect flluid touchscreen.

example! when you scroll, it is not always direct as in an iPhone ( the other phone im thinking about buying)

Some say the slow scrolling has something to do with the beta version balablab. But on this phone: Is it running a beta version??

You have to remember that the software running on this phone is still very young. The iPhone runs 3.0 at the minute, and has had years to get up to this point. The software will obviously be updated often at first, just to get the little bugs out. If i was you I would get this phone a few months after its release. Obviously the iPhone is the obvious choice, but its all up to you at the end of the day.

Yes the iPhone UI is great, but does it offer any customisation? No. With the open source android you will be able to change to your hearts content once some of the great developers get there hands on the phone. As i say the problem is most likely software given that the Hero has pretty decent specs. And if im right, it will probably fixed by the time the phone is released, if not it will be fixed soon after with an update.

I hope your apologetics are correct, because if it's still this sluggish upon release, there's no way I'd buy this over an iPhone. (I'm not an Apple fanboy BTW.) Also, keep in mind that people buy the iPhone because it's also an iPod with up to 32GB of storage (included!). Now too, it is a pretty damn good camera/video recorder. The Hero may have an edge phone wise, but in the other areas (and people care about this stuff) the Hero just doesn't cut it.
