@MrXXoooXX No BG recording. It's only HD since AVCHD is an HD only format. The uploading process depends purely on your connection. Impossible to put a time on it.
@Sonyrumors : Have you been able to access an external hardrive with it? I have a ton of AVCHD files exported to mine and it doesn't see it. It seems that the logic is to buy a new SD card or memory stick everytime one gets full.
nice review. it seems pretty useless app. Sony should somehow enable video rendering via PS3/Vegas, its a beast at that sort of stuff. this app is just lame
@MusicGamersTV It's only a video viewing program. There is no editing functionality. There is a separate video editor and uploader program though on the PS3 that's for free. Though, I'm not sure what formats and functionalities it really has. It might be limited to the PlayStation Eye?
I've tried it. It's interesting but too much basic. Two days ago, i sent an email to Sony about a suggestion to integrate the function of PMB (the camcorder's software) into the PS3. It looks like they already though about it. But I have an 8 gig card that gave me an hour. What about the other 100 gig left on a portable hard drive? Filmy told me it can't read it, even though it's imported with their software by using their folder classification (using the VIDEO Folder to start)... ARGH!
@jepcote The Filmy software doesnt care about the folder structure as far as I could tell. What it does look for though is that it's in AVCHD. So even if you used their PMB software, if you are not exporting in ACVHD, it wont matter.

@infablu Nope. Just any AVCHD camera footage. There should be a separate and free video editor for the Eye though

£4 for the app? I can already watch avchd clips by plugging my panasonic sd60 hd camera into the ps3 using usb. I will not be buying this.

THERE NOT REALLY ANY POINT IN GETTING THIS UNLESS YOU CAN EDIT VIDEOS ETC MAKE MUSIC VIDEOS ETC ALMOST EVERYTHING THIS DOES THE PS3 CAN DO ANYWAY.
