I don't know, if I would discover a working solution to make things invisible...I'd put up half an hour about how awesome it is, not half a minute of nothing. It's like they're like "Hey we invented a working invisible cloak" "Yeah whatever, wanna drink something tonight?" ... don't get it..
@CINNAM0NCIDER That's not how it works. It bends light around it. If a person wears an invisibility cloak, they would be invisible as well as all light would be bent around it perfectly.
Researchers at UT Dallas make an "invisible cloak" but use a fucking brick to film it...ridiculous. And the video says you can watch it in 480p but even in 480p it looks worse than 240p...fuck this video.
It's funny, there's always invention ideas that are "dreams" that no one thinks we can possibly invent, and over the course of time, we always manage to pull it off. I never would have thought invisibility would be possible, but in time we'll find a way. Humans always do.
Wait - is it only the carbon nanotube sheet that gets transparent or does it actually make something ELSE invisible? Neither text nor video seemed too clear on this :-/
@th3MUTT Well, I could say that it doesn't say 'make other objects invisible' but I accept your point - a bit puzzled how I overlooked it; must've been tired last night :-/. Thx ;-)
Ali Aliev uses carbon nanotubes--which look like pieces of thread--and then heats them up rapidly until the objects beneath them effectively disappear. You can watch the threads disappear as they are heated up. When the road is so hot that the surface bends the light around it, so that the driver sees the reflected sky instead of the pavement. The carbon nanotubes create a similar effect.
The density of air and the specific strength of steel? I shall spend my entire life constructing a colossal monument to myself made from nanotubes. But it may be invisible, so don't expect to see it around.
does this work by running hi voltage electricity threw the tubes and dissipate an insane amount of heat into the air around it which gives it that "invisibility" look?
@odabi13 Yeah, you sounded mad, you called him a fag. And I have better things to do than argue over the internet, so I think we can leave it at that. :)

also, just looks like it is reflective... mirrors aren't usually the best camo.
cool... and probably eventually useful... but i was a bit let down when I came here expecting something a little more... invisible. I guess I should have known better.
not much of a demo… turn it on and stick stuff behind it!… shine a flashlight into it… or just move the damn camera around, I barely know what it is I'm looking at.
You are wrong Kevin, the only thing cool than in invisibility cloak is watching a small Canadian child put a T-rex in a chock hold during a cage match held some where in space
@svenlivingston777 Look up L'Hôpital's rule. Division by zero is a thing, as long as the limits of a function's derivatives are defined and not zero themselves; however, you could always delve into deeper derivatives as well. It has been this was since the 1700's.
