Having one sexual encounter with one person of the same sex does not necessarily make one homosexual. It could be experimentation. Anyway, the whole thing was a mistake for the two. It's sad really. As for the end of the relationship with Julie, I am talking about "The Truth Is" and Julie did sleep with kd in order to find out if she was really a lesbian and the relationship between Julie and Melissa never repaired. Add to that, the ending of a long-term friendship between kd and Melissa. As for respecting Melissa, I do.

It led to their eventual breakup and the rest is history. You can read it all in Melissa's book about her life with Julie.
