To the fuel: Not as early as you say, this will probably happen. Reason not to happen: Improper funding (Hint hint world leaders!) The 797 looks like a mix of the XB-70 and the F-14.
Reason: Fuel and Pollution, once that fuel runs out how will the planes survive without? Using electricity. Won't be powerful enough i'm afraid. Sorry but planes arn't the future.
my hope is that future flyign machines will be below 500ft of altitude. ANything above 500 ft makes it impossible to see anything in great detail. That is the one thing about flying which really does limit you that you don't see anything in great detail with the execption of mountain flying. flying when its totally cloudy is not very good as you see nothing but cloud. I really hate when its cloudly for the entire flight. It would be nice to fly at 5000ft for long journeys
why replace the 737? It works and carries 1,000,000s of passengers safley every year. The only reason to replace it is to make it lighter and more economical.
The 797 as shown here is awesome! I think Boeing is going to decide in 2011 whether to build it or not because the 737 REALLY needs to be replaced! like RIGHT NOW!
My gawd....I still can't believe that people would actually think that Airbus or Boeing would consider building a Super Sonic Airliner! The technology behind Super Sonic Airliners is over 40-years-old, and ya' ever wonder why Boeing or Airbus won't build them? BECAUSE THE OPERATING FUEL EXPENSE WOULD BE TO HIGH & NOBODY WOULD WANT TO BUY IT!!! Look at the Commercial failure that was Concorde for a clue folks!
The way things are going, there will be no engineers, scientists or teachers in the USA, as nobody will be paying any taxes and all the schools and universities will close.
But that doesn't matter as pilots will have ceased to exist as their wages will be cut to zero.
YOU ASSHOLES, HES SAYING THE A360 AND 797 BECAUSE THEY'RE CONCEPTS!!! stop getting in his face because you think he spelled it wrong to get us angry! the 797 is Stated to be a Twin Deck Blended Wing Body type desing like the B-2 Spirit! who knows what the A360 is going to be, probably a triple decker. stop getting in his face and learn to get a life by learning respect, hes not making stuff up!

@TheMarkOfTheBeast1 THEY ARE FUCKING CONCEPTS STOP MAKING A FUCKING COW ABOUT THE THING, IT CANT BE RELEASED YET AS WE HAVE YET TO FIND THE BEST MATERIALS AND IDEAL ENGINES!!!! shit make a fit about the concept blueprints somewhere else instead of spamming a fight on youtube.
None of these are actually planned for development. They're only concepts to the person who made the video. The person who made the video has put together his own ideas, not the ideas of aircraft companies.
There are NO plans to produce ANY of these aircraft.
You're the one throwing a fit. Apparently you can't understand something very simple...
@Dumbrarere Boeing is considering a 737 replacement soon, might as well go with a shrunk 787. Airbus as already choose the path: re-engine the A320-sucky move.
@ivanchiang827 well right now they are considering leaving washington. If they do some chinese company will come here, or they will come even if boeing is here cause they are building a plae to compeat with the 737.
The "open rotor" or more correctly, the unducted fan was tried on an Md-90 and deemed a failure. What these new single aisle planes and maybe new versions of the current A320 and 737NG series will likely have is a geared turbofan, which powers the fan through a transmission like a turboprop or helicopter, thereby eliminating the extra turbine stages found on current turbofans, which saves you pats cost, weight ,etc. Less complicated and more efficient.
Actually, the 777 is to be relaced a the 787-10 if Boeing choses to go along with it in and around 2020-2030, it has a good 16,000nm range and is set to replace the 777-200ER and the a330-200 and a340-300.
Boeing planes can't 'replace' busses... they are two different companies... they CAN compete. You misread wiki. And the 787-10 is not meant to replace the -200ER, thats just when production is schedualed to hault. the -200ER will be in service for many many decades to come.
The concorde- type plane they showed was Boeing's supersonic airliner. It was never made. We don't build a totally new design because we are advancing far in our design now, like the 787. Check it out.
Nope, wrong. Solar powered takes WAY WAY WAY to long, and the sun doesn't produce much power. And I have never heard of the electromagneticaly powered one.
For everyone saying that they aren't going to replace the 737, just look up Boeing Y1, part of the Boeing Yellowstone project that will replace all of the current portfolio with more technically
who in the world would want to replace the 737??? It is the best selling twin engine passenger aircraft in the world for over 25 years????????!!!!!!!!!
that was not a 787 in the vid as it had over the wing exits. The 787 is not a direct replacement for the 737 as not only is the 737 still in production (and will remain to be for the forseeable future) but the 787 does not nearly have the same specifications as the 737; the 787 can seat up to 330 passengers in a high density configuration, the 737 can seat just 215 in high density.
Boeing will likely replace the 737 with an aircraft of similar seating capacity to cater for the 737's markets.
Actually it seems that you are the 'fucking moron' as the Boeing 737 is most definitely still in production. Boeing have yet to deliver 365 -700's, 872 -800's and 120 -900ER's. They are still taking orders for the Next Gen. models of the 737's
Get your facts right next time or you will just end up having it thrown back into your face.
The 737 is still in production. The 737 next gen aircraft. 700-800-900 are still being built and have a ton of orders. They wouldn't stop building something that made them billions lol. And it is still the most popular aircraft even though the a320's are rising.

yeah, the u.s. military has a 747 that has a laser that is used to destroy missles in flight... not confirmed by gov't but theres a video of it, experts and all on youtube
Hi friend, very nice your proposals, they seem like the boeing 737 and airbus A320 succesors, really they are lovable, i think you are right, very cool planes, really i love this all this work, very nice im agination and creativity. Thanks. i Hope to see sooner some AirFrance and some American Airlines planes like the planes of the vid.
what have boeing and airbus done i hate both of them cockpit windows why can't they stick to the original ones i like the A330/40 and the B757 cockpit windows. oh wait i cant call it the cockpit anymore it has to be called the 'flightdick' oh i mean 'flightdeck' XD

Boeing and Airbus could be interested in this kind of proposals, really are beautifull and functional.
Ravaedar 3 years ago
Hi friend, very nice your proposals, they seem like the boeing 737 and airbus A320 succesors, really they are lovable, i think you are right, very cool planes, really i love this all this work, very nice im agination and creativity. Thanks. i Hope to see sooner some AirFrance and some American Airlines planes like the planes of the vid.
Ravaedar 3 years ago
what have boeing and airbus done i hate both of them cockpit windows why can't they stick to the original ones i like the A330/40 and the B757 cockpit windows. oh wait i cant call it the cockpit anymore it has to be called the 'flightdick' oh i mean 'flightdeck' XD
DjHardaFasta 3 years ago
Actually, These designs are very similar, The A360 has A350 cockpit windows. The 797 has 787 cockpit windows.

Last time I checked an a318 didn't look like that
