    (c^2-8*c*h)/16h, where c is the amount of knee bend (compression below center of mass) and h is measured height. For h=40 and c=6 (even if he compressed 6 inch), the error is -2.94, so he would still have a legit 37 in

The amount of time in the air for freefall is the same for every human at the same vertical height where in this case friction is negligible.

    You can cheat hangtime by landing with bent legs.

    Here it is simplified for you: x = 48.25 * t ^ 2 where x = vertical in inches, & t = air time in seconds.

So If someone like jordan can get a .98 hangtime with a 46 inch vert, someone with a 61 (like Kadour Ziani) could never get more than 1.00 just because of some order of numbers multiplied by some numbers with a couple of letters in there?   • This is the best I have seen...not leg bend to increase hang time. But yeah, the true measure is the difference of how high you can touch and you standing reach. Another thing to consider it that your body stretched....your reach could measure a 40" difference while your feet my only measure a difference in the mid 30's. It's that split second that your body stops going up and starts coming down. the last part to go up goes down first.

  • Frank yang had lifted weights for 3 years and he's average. If I lift over this time period, I'll get to a 600 pounds squat 3 reps. Increasing the reps with the same weight over time, increasing the WEIGHT with the same rep overtime while eating more foods. This time frame is 50 inches run up and what you've seen in this video, justjump measure cheated vert. Maybe now it's clear to you that genetics ain't behind the scenes and hardly plays any factors with rip offs . Fuck Jumpsoles & air alert.

    then just minus the heigh of the rim, off yoru reach plus the inches you never got to of touching the rim.

  • Just set a stick on a particular height, example 9'9". Touch an object at a particular height without jumping and tip toeing (with shoes). Mine is 8'1" with shoes. Make sure you're completely strech up and measure on the very tip of your dirty finger without dirty fingering of course. And minus that to the maximum height you've touched when you jump. Example: 11' - 8'1". The answer is your running vertical leap.

  • Do running vert because standing vert is overrated measure of power. It is weight that is moved and time it takes to do this. So, like I said, just squat 1.5 times your body weight in 1 rep or more if you've seen measurements of 31" running vertical. You do know that you need a ruler or buy this measuring tape you commonly see in carpenters. Otherwise buy a real vertec.

  • So, you're a one foot elastic jumper. Do dead lifts and posterior chain work out rather and step up with barbell and you'll be hitting that rim. Expect less gains on short term goals and expect 50 - 55 inch running vertical on the run with years of lifting experience. Jump is shit. It ain't genetics. Look up that video is pretty much reality of it. For me it's 3.5 times BW squats and jumping high are my desire not just dunking.

  • Yes but you could also be all around jumper, 1 and 2. Usually, it's 2 feet that is easier to be trained since squats and most strength is quad focused. Yours is reactive elastic strength but could be weight trained also in dead lift and step up and other posterior chain exercises like lunges. You are the bouncy ones but through training, you'll and up more strengthy as well with more power on one footed. That is why both 2 type of jumps could be get since it's all becomes explosive in nature.

  • You can always increase 2 feet definitely and one foot jumps got more approaches so it's harder. Yes it's not genetics but survey says black man typically excel on sports that are athletic and I'm talking about white vs black only. It's just the bones and skeletal structures that you can't change, IE length of Achilles tendons, how wide your hips and rib cage is etc. This however doesn't assert that blacks where all this. Regardless of color, other race have same even white through genes.

  • No. Don't do air alert. It's basically just this high volume low intensity plyos. If you're going for plyo and 1 ft, do the single leg speed hop and max singe legged box jumps.

  • I'd recommend heading to theverticalsummitdotcom. A site dedicated for people who wanna increase their vertical leap. Replace "dot" with "." There's lots of people that could help you there. Sign up an account it's free. You don't need programs really. Once you've learned basic proper approaches and physics you could create your own program.

  • lol its kinda of soft for his age , i can jump 30 inches (standing) and im 12 turning 13 , only in gr.6 , going for gr 7 , prob. in gr9 ill get head over rim dunks , and i can almost touch rim like 3 or 4 inches away , the vertical program did i did was Double your vertical jump , its pretty good , 2nd best one the other one is vertical explosion , from that one in 10 weeks i got 10 inches , so yup i think hes soft even doe im black , hes still soft , oh btw the money u spend for it is worth

  • cool. Im 12 turning 13 in dec. i can touch a 250 cm 8 and 1/2 feet. Im only 140cm. Hands up is 182cm. So i can reach....68 cm. Which is roughly about 27 inches. How tall are you? Im in 7th grade btw. Ah nvm ur black. you got those hops born with you! lucky :c

  • Dunknow is a great program you don't have to get the new one its 70 but the old one is fine. I currently have 40.5 standing, but I'm trying to get to 50. My friend and myself have only done dunknow for a week and went up 2 inches..

  • Depends if it's an actual vert, from a standing start, or if it was a running takeoff. LeBron's vert is 43", but it's more like 55 or 56" running off of one foot. Even then, 60 does seem on the very outer realm of possibility.

  • no, lebron jumps 43" with a takeoff. He does not jump 56". that would be 4'8", LBJ is 6'8" which would put his head at 11'4", which would mean the top of his head would be almost to the top of the layup square which is absurd. It's more like 3-4 inches above the rim.

  • I lost respect for the dunk contest this year after what happened with Fernandez, and after the mediocre dunks that seemed to score 50's. Plus Dwight's "12 foot rim" dunk was more like just under 11'6". From all angles it appears to be in line with the top of the layup square. Still impressive, but guys have dunked on real 12 foot rims before and that was not it.
