  • It good to know that I am not alone in the amount of time it take to edit my videos for my channel. I will have to keep these programs in mind for the future. For those balling on a budget, do you know of any open source programs that works as good as these. Let me know, thanks.

  • I have the camera, the Sony HD. All I have to do now is collect the guts to stand in front of it, lol.

I use it mostly to make videos of my dog. Although not even those are great Youtube material :) Awesome job, as always, Lisa!!!

  • @LiveYourLoveBlog You can do it! You already got over the fear of interviews... next up for you.... VIDEO! I'll be waiting. :)

  • Thank you for the info.this will help thanks

  • Hi Lisa! How do you make the red box appear on your videos? The red box which says "I am still using thesis!" Sorry, to bother you but I really need help on that. :)

  • @eherothundergiant It's the Annotations feature on YouTube.

  • Teach us how to use Final Cut!

  • Amazing Video Editing Software that's also extremely affordable

Windows: Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD(forty bucks only!)

Mac: Final Cut Express(this one's for fancy video editing) or Screenflow(this one's for simple and quick video but it's still pretty impressive)

  • Gimp is free and better than adobe photoshop. Trust me its amazing

  • Hey Lisa, I've seen all your videos, and you inspired me to do what i like (:!

  • yeah i hope you can do a tutorial on how to use final cut express! i bought it few months ago, haven't had time to discover it:)

  • Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro (or Express) seem to be amongs the most used video editing software.

    Thumbs up!

    G-Phi

  • I have hope that someone in me subscibe wound do a video like this Thanks very much for sharing

  • Hey i was wanting to know how hard is it to do adsense on my web-site and if you think that anyone can do this.jonathondeese@hotmail.com

  • Mac all the way! :)

    Thumbs up!

    G-Phi

  • @prelepabeceda which is what i use atm, but it does not have enough editing features to be worthwhile for good videos.

  • Thanks for the lovely tips.

If you're just starting out it's a good idea to use Camstudio and Windows Moviemaker. Both are free and easy to use.

    Thanks again!

  • Like the video tip, but why not just use Quick Time if you have a Mac computer it's totally free

  • hey Lisa, I was reading your book on how to get more traffic and one idea you gave was to host a contest, you said some people would be unsure to give out things like their address, so is they're a way to host a contest without asking for information like that? please answer back!

  • Lisa,

I know this is off topic but I need HELP!!! I've been studying your principles at your site (and Yaro's - he's great) but I'm conflicted. I have blogs at blogger and wordpress but I really like WP variety. However, I can't put Adsense or Amazon or other ads on my blog b/c its against their policy. Am I missing something? If its about changing to a domain name then I can do that. But if not, I may as well try to work it out with blogger. Please inbox me your response. I'd appreciate it!

  • EXCELLENT video Lisa!

  • Thank you Lisa Adobe looks great. Do you ever use V.A.s and what do you think about using them?

  • great video lisa thank you for thre info

  • thank you ;)

  • great video lisa love your videos and site

  • If ya see this Lisa ((Hugs)) Thank You!

    Les

  • Great info, specially for beginners. Please do more videos like this. Love the way you explain everything. Thanks!

  • Lisa: I wish I could have a Mac. D8 Oh well.

  • Hey lisa... LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

So.... Im 15 and applying to be a youtube partner!

How did you apply to be a partner... when you aren't 18?

P.S. Is 86,000 views enough to get accepted?

  • lol @ 1:51 ....or you can just download the torrent

  • For screen capture videos, I use CamStudio, which is free. I tested Camtasia, but found it's not worth paying for what Cam Studio does for free, and the video editing features on Camtasia were a joke. For editing, I use AVS Video Editor, which was either free or dirt cheap and works better than many paid programs I've used. Also fond of using Excel to create slides and then record with Cam Studio. I'm off ot watch your WP plugins vid...

  • Thanks for the video Lisa!

  • I am using premiere elements. 3 years now. great video, informative.

  • camtasia rocks. i needed two minutes to understand the workflow.

  • Mama you don't need camtasia on the mac.

  • The ending music sounds like from lynda.com

  • c'mon, lisa, did your actually buy camtasia?

    just wondering =)

  • Thanks You Saved A lot Of Our Time Thanks For Sharing This

  • Sony Vegas Pro 9 is a good one, use it on XP. Does green screen too.

  • You're right. Video editing is time consuming yet rewarding.

In Windows, an easy to learn but yields professional results: Adobe Premiere Elements. I have the Pro version too but Elements is built to generate lower thirds, has green screen capabilities and is an excellent piece of video editing software. Since using the Mac, I do most of my edits in iMovie '11 but I can see how I have quickly outgrown it but it does produce slick productions!

    Great video Lisa!

  • Love your videos Lisa

  • lol I love it how everyone edits video on the Mac :D

  • As a video editor and motion graphics designer, I personally favor Camtasia Studio for Windows and ScreenFlow for Mac as the Mac version isn't that great for Camtasia Studio. If you need a video editor, use Final Cut series for Mac and Premiere/Elements for Windows (:

  • @XVSProductions You're the 2nd one to say they didn't like Camtasia for Mac. Hopefully they have a free trial. Thx for the heads up.

  • @XVSProductions glad i saw this comment too! downloaded the trial version of ScreenFlow and its pretty amazing stuff! Buying full version right now! Thank you =) (oh and yes I have a mac!)

  • screenflow is much more efficient and cleaner and better to use than camtasia for mac

  • I recommend Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. But I do more effects and stuff.

  • @bbabybry And also Final Cut is AMAZING!

  • @bbabybry Isn't it though? I've only scratched the surface and used the most minimal features. Can't wait to really take it to the next level! Thanks for stopping by!

  • You mentioned green screen on the Mac.

I have done it with WinXP and Windows Moviemaker.

w w w . papajohn . org has a lot of help for Movie maker

  • @Fraznor Sweet! Yes, there are many options for green screen on both systems. Thanks for sharing.

  • @lisa3876 the most important thing about making godd videos is making your small brand with a logo on the bottom right or left .......an intro that can be best made with flash .........and repeat the same intro at the end....makes the vid look very compact. Hey lisa btw chk my blog...wont write it here cause i am nt a spammer.....tc....:p i use weebly.....wordpress is so HARD!

  • Thanks for sharing this! I'm new to using Macbook and I'm enjoying it a lot. I haven't purchased a camera yet, because I'm still researching that and I'll also be looking into software too. Very helpful! Take care! Evelyn

  • Sony Vegas is a decent video editing software for windows users.

  • @GamingXpert Great, thanks for sharing. I hope people post what they like to give other people options. I've also heard this software is a goody.

  • Could You please make a video about using iMovie? Thanks

  • 2nd :P I would like to say I Like it:):)

  • first !
