@TheFutureViking It's because we're so big. One of our states equals the size of many other countries. We're taught american history first, then world history to a much lesser extent. I'm sure whatever country you're from there are plenty of people who have no idea what the 13 colonies are or who wrote the declaration of independence. That doesn't mean they're stupid, it means they really have no reason to know those things. Just like I have no reason to know the favorite food of Uzbeks.
