No, Asian invented humanism. Narcissism isn't exclusively American by any means but the U.S. is certainly making a majority contribution with Reality television of recent and the "Believe in Yourself" optimism that seems to have forgotten merit.
Ramsays quiet cameo is a far more nuanced portrait of the 'bully' of Kitchen Nightmares. When HE was the student, he would shut the fuck up, listen, and get it done - right. That's what he expects. That's why he boils around these over sensitive, over confident amateurs that argue with him. Narcissism is an American disease, and it's spreading. Those that accuse Ramsay of it favor Sensitivity to Truth, Feelings to Fact, and Individuality to Commitment.
@conzaradikal Again, regardless, that's the proper way to pronounce Restaurant. I repeat, it's of french derivation and the proper pronunciation. I know that because I've traveled enough and got a proper education. Are you quite sure I'm the idiot? Because you're make an awfully impressive case for yourself. Why don't you discover places outside of your woefully limited experience before you judge them?
@DanMcCaffrey Yes I'm quite sure you're the idiot, you seem to be clinging to this same rebuttal that the word 'restaurant is of French origin' Thank you for repeating it captain obvious, but I was aware of that, as are 99% of the population. This doesn't change the fact that the presenter puts on an unnecessarily heavy French accent when saying it. You wouldn't say 'Glockenspiel' in a heavy German accent whilst talking casually either.
@mymentor What are you trying to say? Stop being clever. If you want to criticize someone you don't even know about his personal relationships, which is stupid on your part, at least be straight up.
What's your problem? It was a joke, mate, based on the fact that MPW isn't on speaking terms with Ramsay or Roux any more. Try and express yourself without insults.
I hate how this is a man of obvious deep personal and social problems with a passion that drove him away from what would be considered a fulfilling life and he's begrudgingly trotted out for the cameras for wealthy yuppie's entertainment. I'm glad Marco has calmed down and found what he was looking for even if it was later in life then he would have hoped.
When one gets the time to cook in the kitchen, it is only then you truly realise how much bloody work you have to go through in order achieve even something close to what he is doing. I love cooking, total respect for Marco and he is very inspirational. Wish I had even a few of his skills. :(
I made Marco's Lemon Tart from his book White Heat. It was great, a lemon pie made with real lemons not artificial flavoring. The lemon flavor was very intense and by putting some lemon zest in the tart, the dough tasted of lemon as well.
I also learned that using clarified butter to cook beef really makes it tender. Thanks Marco!

Unless everyone just wanted to kinda move on and forget about it? Not everyone runs around suing other people a the drop of a hat. Bottom line: you're not marco, you're presumably not the waitress either, you don't know for sure.

@SethHesio How do you know MPW is not a nice man? What I've seen he is assertive in the kitchen.....but when on a personal level he seem to be a kind and honest man. I m talking about what I've seen from Hell's K

And yet you judge him by his personality outside the kitchen.
Ever eaten one of his meals?

He's 22 on this show, Marco is 5 years older than Gordon, Marco is 27 here so that make Gordon 22.

Look at young Gordon! Marco has changed in both personality and in cooking style. But as brilliant back then as he is now!

I love how the lobster goes from alive to raw ingredients in literally a minute or so. A true artist, a brilliant chef, and in all likelihood an utter cunt. I mean that in the nicest way Marco, all genius artists are mad and difficult.
