@SuperCricket60 I can't even begin to fathom the heartache and pain you and your family must have endured!! Plz accept my most hearfelt condolences for ur loss.....the lord works in mysterious ways....You're all in my prayers!!
ho sempre ascoltato musica di grandi cantautori e voglio dirvi una cosa! no mi si leva mai dalla testa : BOB SEGER, E JOHN MELLENCAMP mi dite che cosa può essere ?
i am 16 years old, and i've been listening to him my whole life. I remember as i was on my way to florida to go to dinsey when i was 8. And he made the trip so much better, and worth while. His music is inspirational and changes my mood every time i listen to him. Bob Seger for life!
Whats up, why cant you find any Bob Seger songs that people do as covers? Did he nix the youtube? I love to learn these songs and find that Youtube is the best revenue for this..not with Bob...hmm
6 of us planned to go to Dawson City, YT last summer. 2 of us actually did the trip. my best friend was on his CBR125 R yes..(he had only minimal experience, first year riding) a 125cc street bike made the 6500 mile trip, with no issues ok its a little slow on the hills. The trip was AMAZING. The "Top of the World" highway is absolutely stunning. the farthest we went between fuel stops was only 180 miles. any bike, and anyone with the ability to stay awake, is able to do this trip.
@helovedbigbrother111 Yes it was. The song was actually extended(The chorus at the end was done twice) The real "Mask" kid was into Springsteen, but there were legal hassles getting the Boss's songs, so the movie contained several Bob Seger tunes instead.
I grew up with Seger in Detroit listening to his music, Came out West in 82, made a living on horse back in NV, been a underground coal miner. in 02 I hit the road for the summer in my new truck and trailer with two horses. from NM,AZ to ID & MT. Now I'm here in CO with my own cattle ranch and my wife of 8 years. Now at 52 I still get that feeling to drift, looking down that road.
@strangefire1 Nice. I'm 52 also, still looking for answers with that restlessness in my soul. Learned to ride street bike 2 years ago at 50. Songs like this make me want to just up and ride away...
@strangefire1 What are you waitin for ? Hell shes probably already packed ! Wondering whats the hold up ? The ranch will still be there :) ( when you get back )
@soggybuilders We are planning a trip into "The Bob" (Bob Marshall Wilderness) in MT for 3 months using 2 horses to ride and 7 mules to pack our gear, living off lots fish, prospecting for gold and living free "standing on a mountain top, Starin' out at the great divide"
Opened the Nashville show in May with Roll Me Away, just walked out and started singing. Had my son with me for his 24th birthday.Great night, thanks Bob.
Im 55. Been riding Harley's for years. I get tired, I get sore, but I play this song, watch this video, and my wanderlust begins to swell and I grab my leathers and I go.
I ride till my heart is full, and I turn around and ride home. A day, a week....its just me and my bike, and the road. Roll me away!!
Usually have to park the bike in the garage for at least 3 months living in omaha and always put this one on when I roll it out the first ride of spring... god is great..this year got to ride 3 times in january in omaha with temps in the 60;s.... roll me away//
The ultimate 'wanderlust' song, and probably my single favorite song of all time. This should be crowned the official song of the mountain time zone. Try drivng a motorcycle, or even a car below 90 MPH on the open highway while listening to this.
Someone remarked about the line "next time we'll get it right" and tying it to marriage. And to that poster, I could not concur more.
I say whoever gave the thumbs down should have their handle and comments remain at the top of the posts so we can see who is living with their heads up their asses!!!
Bob Seger...has been my memory songs since I was young! Way back on the year of 1970's! Lots of tears back then. And there still are!!! Never forgotten! ;*
I just know in the summer months, i work and when i get off. i come home and pull out my chief and roll me away so damn deep i hit the perfection. Nothing more per perfection.!!!!
I absolutely LOVE this song ... I think of it every time I climb on my ride and take off. I am hoping to take some time off this summer and take my son for about a week long ride. I have listened to Bob Seger for nearly 35 years and he just keeps getting better. I have almost every one of his albums. Great music ... great times ... great memories ...
Love this song, can't wait to ride again! I Miss it...alot. Spring is right around the corner. Sure would like to take some camping gear and ride back to Breaks Mts. and camp out. LOVE TO RIDE.
been riding and listening to this song many a time..best was actually crossing the divide in montana when this song came on..great moment in riding history!
He would have had to go across the bridge first from Mackinaw City to head down a westbound road, which would be US 2, toward the Great Plains. We saw him on a motorcycle in Alanson about 20 years ago. He had grey hair and reminded us of Kenny Rogers, so we weren't sure until we saw a more recent picture of him a few days later. He reportedly regularly eats at a restaurant a few miles north of where we saw him when he's in town, up US 31 toward...Mackinaw City.
This song gets me everytime. I can feel myself in this song at times. Sometimes I have felt in my life that I would just want to get on a bike and roll myself away, just roll away from all the heartache but the part of this song that brings the tears is " next time we'll get it right" and I tell ya, I hope that I can get it right because we only have one life to do it in. The lyrics in this song are so powerful, very powerful to the heart and soul. One of the best songs ever! :-) ♥
@thecarebearhideaway This song definitely takes one to another place. Brings emotions, memories, very powerful delivery of awesome lyrics and music. You feel happy, sad, and nostalgic all in the same 5 minutes.
@Lesrevesdhiver Yeah, exactly my friend. You really do feel all those emotions when you listen to this song. That is one powerful song if you ask me! Bob Seger really hit home with this song, that is for sure! Thanks for the very kind comment! :-)
I have seen Bob four times, always great. This song reminds me of my marriage, many decisions, many compromises, but the line that gets me is "next time we'll get it right", people usually don't get second chances, so beware of what you do or say..............
Hit 50.. Man Seger was, nahhh, IS the music of most our lives through that era. I'll soon be back up on my scooter, this spring first in many years. This time I'll get it right..
@silverd123 A trip across the US is easy..load up your bike and go.. don't wait for someone else. go alone and be at one with the road and country..find yourself..not how you coexist with another rider..be at peace at your own speed.. sleep on the ground.. murph
With the words "Took a look down a Westbound road - right away I made my choice..headed out to my big Two Wheeler..I was tired of my own voice - took a bead on the Northern Plains and just rolled that power On.." Bob Seger, the Poet, captures the freedom of the vast West and the open Road. "I stood Alone on a Mountain top - staring out at the Great Divide....I could go East, I could go West - it was all up to me to decide" I love those Lyrics. It is just Joy, Freedom and energy.
@mikedeals I just saw him too, at the Staples Center in LA on Wed. Dec. 28. I'm 19 yrs old and I was with my dad (60 yrs old) and my mom (52 yrs). I believe his next show after this was yours in Vegas haha.

@nadmenny Bob paints an amazing picture in words which has been translated into an excellent visual interpretation by the uploader, in other words a great video!
