  • GENIUS :)

  • Well, "Dutch" and "Danish" are most difficult foreign germanic languages for native english speakers.

  • lol they must think hes a tard.

    -

mwhehe is it just me or does the guy sound waaay Belgian with his huge accent!

  • yes, you are right ;)

  • whats the name of that "nederland song"

  • Schipper mag ik overvaren, ja of nee?

Boatsman, can I cross the river, yes or no?

    Love this comedian.

  • was war das jetzt? welche sprache?

  • Niederländisch, natürlich.

  • I am Dutch and have little trouble reading Norwegian or other Scandinavian languages. Some Dutch are actually shocked to find out they can read it! I just like it. Many words are more similar than german. Don't know why. we say "praten" and regionally "snakker". We say nodig (Danes nødig) Etc.. If you want to see a fantastic Dutch cabaretier, in english, look up "Hans Teeuwen London". Subtitled in Dutch. God, Ronnie and Dwight are the best. But in Dutch he is 10 times better. Hilsen!

  • @govpavlicek can you tell me what he is singing about then?

  • What Antonsen says is almost incomrehensible.

The final words in the song atthe end are:

"Schipper mag ik overvaren, ja of nee" =

Boatsman can I passover the water, yes or no?

Do I have to pay money than, yes or no??=

Archaich Dutch"I have to say, Amsterdam-dialect gone in the 70s or so.

  • @govpavlicek Yeah reading Norwegian or Danish is pretty easy, but understanding the spoken is a whole different thing ofcourse. Nevertheless, I would love to learn either Norwegian or Danish. Germanic pride! :D

  • dude im dutch and that wasnt dutch :S but that song at the end is dutch :D

  • @Armadijl can you tell me what he is singing about then?

  • i think i understand:

this guy learned a part of a dutch comedian out of his head and talked to dutchman exactly that words and was checking if they should talk back and so he conversated and he had no idea what about.

can somebody from the host country of that man tell me if i´m right?

  • That's correct. It's a monologue he learned by heart and presented in different settings (I think they're all here at Youtube), this was the final one.

  • yeah you are right :) he made up that song and used sentence from it

  • You are indeed right, yes :)

  • @jazpert1981

    you`re right

    i think

  • @jazpert1981 jes indeed u are exaktly right ;)

  • @jazpert1981 yes, that is correct. He have no idea of what he is saying

  • @jazpert1981 you are correct idd, he made alot of shows where he did different things to the words and the music

  • @jazpert1981

    You're right...

    He Is Norwegian...

    His name is kristoffer Schau

  • That's right, he learned some sentences from a dutchman over a CDrom:P He probably don't know what he self saying, in other words, he can' t speak dutch at all!

    Vikingskippet= Vikingschip på Nederlandsk. Schipper=Skipper??

  • @govpavlicek skipper er kaptein, skipper er bare gammaldags

  • what happens to the guy at 1:40, he turns to another guy walking the other way like he told him his mother's a whore or something :/

  • Hvorfor skriver du dansk?

  • goed nederlands :P

I'll settle with that.

  • Lol. I think for a norwegian person he really speaks nice dutch :)

  • lol at the dude who is wearing the weed beanie xD

he obviously says that he lives in the netherlands and then he sais that u are in the netherlands, then u have to speak dutch like french people speak french in france.. dutch = understandable to norwegians

  • kan dere holde kjeft? seriøst..

  • haha...I really have no idea

    ündersbændersnød

  • it is the language from holland in the song

  • Yes (It's Dutch by the way)

  • ahaha awesome song! What's it called?

  • I dunno the first part, the second part is called ' Schipper mag ik over varen'

  • Schipper mag ik overvaren ;-)

  • hvor fikk du denne filmen fra?

  • den er bare bra da!

  • så jævlig eid!!

  • eid? hva skal det bety?.

  • ...-.- get with the times xDD.

  • i think the song i translated to:

Skipper, may I cross over; yes or no?

must I pay, yes or no?

  • the two guys didnt understand a word of it. what did he say??

  • fun!

  • Could someone translate the rest of what they are saying? How's Christoffers pronunciation? :P

I can translate the first verse of the wastskeburt song:

Washing busy busy, lots of talk, seriosly, Lots of fat ladies, but cannot wash cage, but I was gay before, are those people coming, Arne? You mother at the cinema, Jo-bent is boss just absurd while you make me wash cage, wash cage..... Jo-Bent is one page to go while you don't need Dr. Crow, Dr. Crow... Jo-bent is one page with cream

  • hehe, klassisk

  • Jo-Bent is a giant without clothes, no one knows what it is...

    The end is specially funny:

Wading wading wading wading, whats with my ouch ouch, cannot cannot, seriosly Rex wants to talk to you, but cannot, talk me clean ass, whats with auch... perioud is correct because, serously lipgloss consetrate, come the junky, night, two for one, the ears, the ears, look, screaming at ètui, sensetive deo, Finne... envelope, oh yeah coming now.. come now, craterworkshopvisit.

    You'd think it's norwegi

  • I understood ja or nej and that's about it!

  • Sondrety I think you mean Danish is Germanic.............

  • anyone that can translate this into norwegian or english please

  • "I prefer to sing in Dutch, you know.

After all we're living in the Netherlands and why would you perform in English or French?

Look, in restaurants I think its different.

A good menu should be written in French, because then it would taste better. If you read in a menu, in Dutch, 'breast of veal', you'll think: 'breast of veal', don't you?

But if the menu reads "buste de veau""

Could anyone explain the humour in this sketch? Is it just that Dutch sounds funny? Saying Norwegians?!

  • Yeah, dutch sounds funny. It sounds like pigeons on speed.

  • Dutch sounds funny and this song has been made many sketches of in the show team antonsen. And in this scene he goes to netherlands to try to have a conversation with the lyrics ;D dont know. I find it funny.. check out watzgeburt here on youtube with norwegia subtitles ;)

  • I guess so. The replies from the Dutch people are funny; they start on rambling away or dont have any clue where he's talking about. Still its funny to hear the remark from Norwegians. No offence. ;-) Always thought Dutch must sound weird to other languages, especially due to our deep 'g'. Ever had a couple of Dutch 'Grolsch' beers?! If you drink too many of them; the result will let you hear how to pronounce it properly! What does the Norwegian subtitles say at the watzgeburt video?!

  • yeh ducth sounds very special. But its cool though:)

and I found another word in this song here we use too. Vetu..(vettu) = you know.

did you find the video . just search for vaskebur then youtube suggest the right video :)

the norwegian subtitles are just crazy. Its just words we think they say in norwegian ;)

jo bent er sjef helt absurd while he makes me vaske bur = jo bent is the boss, totally absurd when he makes me wash the cages.. wash the cages.. wash the cages!!!

    hehe.

  • I've often thought about it, I'm Norwegian myself, and I think the tone Dutchmen use seems very similar to our own. I'm sure that if I heard dutchmen on the street in Norway, I'd think they were norwegian if I didn't consentrate on which words they actually used...

  • yeh. hehe. And it has some of the same words. : smake... lekkert. :)

    Tsjaha, teeh linj paer?"

  • guys, you don't even know where your language comes from, they are all germanic languages, like the latin family, which includes french, romanian, spanish, italian, catalan...

  • Germanic language, not German language.

  • Danish is german

  • I t

  • Germanic, not german.

  • yeah.. it was a typo.. I reckoned people would understand that

  • It would also be an understandable mistake.

  • They all came from the germanic language.

  • kristopher schau er ganske söt da ;)

  • HAHAHA!!!

  • "k singe helst in Niederlend weet u?"

It's "Ik singen heit liefst (song or something) in nederlands (dutch) weet u"

Meaning "I sing heit liefst in dutch you know

  • Hva sier han? VIL VITE!!

What do he say? WANNA KNOW!!

  • Lattis!!

  • If you understand Dutch its even funnier ! :-)

  • i wish i did

  • I understand some of what he says:)

I speak some German, and something is like Norwegian:P

    Is he speaking good Dutch?:)

At the first I didn't think it was real Dutch

  • yeh...its pretty good! Norwegian and Dutch are both 'germanic languages' the sound is very close. If I do the same thing in Oslo im sure I can fool the Norwegians too :-)

  • Hehe, that woud be fun to see:)

In the start he is saying " Geth est schön gewohnen in Niederland? It means is it nice to live in Niderland?right=:)

I understand about 30% of it.

Did you see one of them "I don't know what he fuck you're talkinga bout":)

English is also "Germanic language" right?

  • english is also a germanic language, but not as "germanic" as german, dutch and norgwegian

  • A german said he coud understand most of it.

  • german sounds a bit like dutch (like norwegian and swedish)

from the start he says, "I actually prefer singing in Dutch you know!!"

  • something like, ik singe helst in Niederlend weet u?:)

Im able to understand almoust all Swedish:)

  • :-)

  • German, Danish, Hollandese (Not the sauce), Swedish, Icelandic and Faeroese is all based on the langugage spoken by the orginial Germanic tribe, thus they're alike. (The Norse which was used in Norway and Sweden was grammaticly identical with German)

  • Hollandese ?? hehe...come on, there aint such a thing as that except for the sauce !! its DUTCH :-)

    or Hollands/Nederlands(as we say it)

  • I have german family and they can't even understand a single sentence in Dutch. Its weird and it vary's a lot but usually german people cannot make out more then a few words because Dutch and German just are not mutually intelligable. In my opinion, when I see a Scandinavian article I can make out words that look like Dutch that are completely different in German otherwise.

  • A dutch guy I know reads Norwegian papers everytime he visits. Doesn't speak a word norwegian.

  • konge!

  • Ik been Nederlands weet je...

    Hoe gaat het met je?

    Ik ben een jongen..

    Kristoffer is een koele jongen..

    Goed schot...

    U bent een mens..

    Tot ziens....!

  • ... You just told us that you 'leg Dutch'.

We're supposed to believe you, right?

  • niederland ist ein super land

  • The bald guy with the Amsterdam accent "I don't understand him" hahaha

  • hihi =)

  • ikke dru

  • no entiendo nada - niente - nothing

  • ahha nederlenderen er best
