if you watch closely, gabbert, lowered his head at the last second to avoid the hit. All Osborne did was start a tackle, and if the player lowers his head, you can't stop in mid-tackle!

That hit is made EVERY week in football around the country and 99% of the time it doesn't get a call. WHY?.....because its legal. There is no way to completely prevent one players helmet from hitting another's unless you want to completely dismantle the game of football.

Gabbert will get drafted because he is a prototypical QB built for the NFL.... but, if he can't see a blitzer coming from 10 yards away on his right side, he will be a long time backup. It wasn't an illegal hit, Osborne did not leave his feet, he did not target Gabbert with the crown of his helmet... if anything, Gabbert ducked right into the line of fire. Had he not, Osborne would have hit him square in the chest. Gabbert is 6'5", Osborne is 6'0"

The B12 refs, and Ed Cunningham, are clearly favoring anyone that isn't Nebraska. The refs, who didn't call a penalty, should have been more concerned with reviewing the play and giving Nebraska the ball at the spot of the fumble since they whistled the play dead.
