  • Perhaps the cops just need some good publicity and are using those who oppse them to their own advantage! Its called *saving face* you have apoint but did any cops stick up for a homeschool mother of three contrary they have guilt brimming over! Yoiu should listen to rushdoony he has a podcast all about cops and how the police are corrupt state vs church!

  • No for the protesters to chant to the cops!! Shame to the cops!

  • @thundergrace Why shame on the cops? These people were physically blocking the road and keeping this megaload which had a valid permit to pass through Moscow. They were only doing their job, and did so very well. Calmly, efficiently, courteously to the unruly and disrespectful protesters shouting them down. Those cops are good men. I know two of them personally (they attend my church). It would have been wrong for the cops to give in to this mob.

  • @thundergrace I tried talking to these protesters. They are brain-washed, earth-worshipping, extremists activists (and hypocrites for the most part) who can't hold a conversation or argument. They think they're "enlightened" and actually accused me of being one-sided when I spent the time to talk to them as well as a geologist on the subject of the Tar Sands! They just listen to their own propaganda. I wanted to hear from both sides.

  • @thundergrace You mean for the cops to chant to the protesters?

  • we need thisd in nh come to keene please!!!!

  • You people are stupid. Really nothing better to do with your time then block a road. Let the people do their jobs. Maybe yoi should get one too. (a job) assuming you dont obama pays for you dont he

  • I'm originally from moscow left because of all the stupid police harrasment!!! Idk really see anyone doing anything which would result in being arrested!!! MPD thinks there so bad ass and act god like... been thru the experience many times!!! i'm just suprised there not pulling there guns out first as usual!!!

MPD YOU ARE GOING TO DIG YOURSELF DEEP ONE OF THESE DAYS AND YOUR GONNA GET YOUR WORLD ROCKED!!! THE WHOLE CITY WILL EVENTUALLY COME DOWN ON TOP OF YOU!!!

  • And the megaload was cheered into town by the patrons at the Plantation Bar, only to have these idiots farther into town slow it down. I've seen a video, not on youtube taken by someone in the convoy that shows them cheering.

  • @chill1745 I'd love to see that video! Good for them!

  • @ks65Morgan I agree. I filmed this to show the protests. Notice the link I posted in the video showing that these are not "evil" people. I had one of the guys who developed the oil extraction process explain it to me. It's not going to kill the environment, even if it's temporarily ugly for a bit.

  • The first thing I checked in my inbox was the video response. When I saw this one posted to my tarsands vid I thought you were an ignorant protester and that the video you linked to would be about how "evil" the tarsands are. I'm glad to find out that I'm not the only one who is sick of the lies being told about what's going on up here.

  • @dsglop Thanks so much for that video (I linked it in the video itself). I'm in contact with one of the guys who developed the process used in Alberta, and we're planning to do a video explaining it better. Not that the environmentalists who worship "mother earth" will listen... It really is a religious thing for them.

  • I understand why people protested . . . . however, the truck driver is just doing their job. For that load to have never gone through, the protests should have happened while this proposal was on the table.

  • @lone6718 Yup!

  • I see - thanks. Still not sure how supporting a cause makes her a bad mayor. It would be different if she'd directed the police to not interfere, thereby using the police for her own agenda. But if she didn't interfere with the law then she did her job.

  • @littledelta59 You're right. This in itself does make her a "bad mayor." My point is that she encouraged a protest as "good" when it was in actuality civil disobedience. (She called it peaceful...it wasn't).

I have a host of other complaints about her. She's a very nice lady, don't get me wrong. I"ve had several pleasant conversation with her. I just believe that her policies on business, environment, etc. are very destructive to a small, struggling town.

  • How does the mayor of Mocow factor into this? Was she protesting? Presumably the police employed by the city of Moscow and she is the Mayor, so how can anyone give kudos to the police and then rip on the Mayor? Did the mayor protest or direct police to no interfere? This sounds like another illogical conclusion based on politcal predisposition, which is the norm these days. Like when people vote for lower taxes and then wonder and complain about lack of services.

  • @littledelta59 The Mayor applauded the action of the protest, but she because she is mayor, of course she can't officially take part (without being arrested herself...). Her position was somewhat hypocritical. She supported the protesters, but officially supported the police action.

  • As for the tar sands, sustainable use or reclamation is a fantasy with large-scale mining operations period. Do your research people before shooting off at the mouth. And the tar sands project wouldn't be profitable unless oil prices were so high to begin with. Watch how fast Exxon would drop the project if oil was $50 a barrel. This is about money and the rich continue to get the poor to do their bidding. And people with no imformation criticize those that do. Amazing.

  • @littledelta59 watch?v=AEbRhAMV0E8

  • To Melora72: the kind of place Moscow is? What do you know about it? Do your homework - the police didn't know about the stalker - no police reports or restraining orders. As for the University, their lips are sealed so what you know about any of it couldn't fill a thimble.

  • @littledelta59 this is a pretty rare thing in Idaho (the shooter, I mean - we have plenty of environmental nuts doing crazy things and protesting all the time).

  • They arrest demonstrators but less than a week ago a student was shot by a professor. Neither the police or the university had done little to help her when he was stalking her. That's the kind of place Moscow is.

  • @melora72 The reason the police did nothing is because she did not file anything with the police, just the University. And the University isn't at all likely to do much, other then ask a professor (assistent) to step down. This would be the case of most Universities, they needed to reach out to police for them to have done anything. As it was, MPD knew nothing about the complaint/domestic issue until the shooting.

  • Nice work. Lots of equally peaceful ways to keep those trucks stalled for much longer though. Hope to see more of this!

  • @greenrage247 I agree, though I tend to side with Exxon on THIS one.

  • I just did a little bit of research on what is going on in our backyard. Most people have no idea!

20 Mind Boggling Canadian Tar Sand Facts

    1. It is the most destructive industrial project on the face of the earth covering an area the size of the state of Florida

  • @euphrosynos The research on Tar Sands is tainted with bad research, bad science, and many many lies.

"All those loads are bound for up here in Alberta (the tar sands). I'm just amazed at why this people think the tar sands are 'dirty'. They would have a bird if they walked along the Athabasca river and find out that in some places the oil 'naturally' oozes out of the ground and into the river. Exxon is actually cleaning up nature if you want to look at it that way." - friend from Alberta

  • @foucachon I don't want to be a dick here but I'd like to point out that you say the field of oil sand research has been "tainted with bad research, bad science, and many many lies" and to back that up you provide a quote from a friend which is nothing more than anecdotal evidence. Maybe you should provide a link or something? From my own research this is going to cost us millions in road repair and turn Alberta into the new West Virginia with heavy metals in the drinking water etc. Not good!

    20. Idaho's Hwy. 95 has been designated a major industrial corridor serving the Canadian tar sands.

  • I'm not sure the oil company is doing the environment any favors by scraping and raping the earth up there. It looks to me like it's basically strip mining. With that being said, we need that oil and we need to drill in ANWR and on our coastlines. This will be one way we can make America great again. We can all do our part by getting B.O. out of office in 2012. Also, while were at it, lets get Nancy Chaney out as Moscow Mayor. She's a nice lady, but that stops there! Nice job by the cops.
