I was at this show, my 3rd outta 4 bruce shows. The man is unstoppable. They played like a freight train all night long, and Hang on Sloopy sent the energy in that place through the roof even higher. Amazing show, Bruce is THE Boss.
i am sure it was OHIO. Some of my family was there and I am sure they were screaming it at the top of their lungs like any Ohio State fan would. I found this when I was searching for a post of him performing it at Ohio State - saw him 5 times. Love the Boss!
This was in Greensboro, NC. It was an incredible show, but then, as nearly as I can tell, aren't they all. If you didn't know otherwise, you'd swear he was playing the last show of his life, because he's sure not holding saving anything for another concert. This was an intense show. About two hours, fifty minutes of song, song, song, song, with one song bleeding into the next. Every young band should see Bruce Springsteen. He's the benchmark against which they can compare their own shows.
Not sure if I did this right - I am new to commenting on youtube. I commented and someone else replied - my brother and his wife and friends were at the Greensboro concert - huge Buckeye fans and I am sure I heard the O-H-I-O too so I asked him and he said you bet - we were yelling at the top of our lungs! He sang it while at Ohio State in concert - of course the whole crowd went crazy. I was looking for a clip of that - when I found this. Gotta love the Boss.
Awesome! Bruce is so amazing. I saw him live at Bonnaroo over the summer. One of, if not the best shows I have ever seen. Btw, thanks for giving me some closure on this matter. My family is from Cleveland and my cousin went to Ohio State...Bruuuuuuce!!!!
And i can't get these songs outta my head haha!!! This was only my second concert to go to of his. THE SOUND WAS FANTASIC AND LOUDER!! Haha and he wasn't a little tiny dot this time.
When the boss played an unexpected show at the RHINO club in downtown Greensboro Jan 17 1985, Hang on Sloopy was in the set list, probably the reason for the request.
has anyone posted thunder road, growin up, im on fire, or glory days? please tell me if you can find them I want to get video of every song from that amazing night
This song brought the freakin house down. I was in the pit, about 5 or 6 rows back on Soozie's side. It was my first time doing the GA thing so I was shocked that I made it in the pit, especially with the huge turn out for the lottery (1200+) and only 450 in the pit. One of the best experiences of my life. Thanks so much for posting these videos, especially this one as I felt Sloopy was a real highlight of the show.
My brother and I did the pit last year, got real close, it is an experience, to say the least. They drew #111 and we were 168 and 169, so we were in the thick of it.
The whole show brought the house down. This was my 56th. I've seen every tour beginning with Darkness in 78, and can't remember a better show.
We missed the Pit but I thought the sound was better, certainly louder, than Atlanta in the Pit, just below and back a few feet from one of the main banks of speakers.
I'm hoarse from Bruuucing and my ears are still ringing sweetly. This was the greatest rock n' roll roll that there ever has been or ever will be.
unfortunatly i was pretty far away.. in section 228 row G lol.. but we were still rocking out tho... next time im going on the floor and pushing my way to the front
O-H-I-O

@devil03dawg41 You're 100% correct. Springsteen sucks. This cover sucks. His fans are idiots.
