@SaintPhoeniix if you try to exit from the main hall, the shadow will roar and the door will be blocked. he has to stop alexander from doing something evil to become free from the shadow too. so he kind of has to.

@joshua9170 well, in this game the gatherers seem to enjoy human flesh and just because there is a light doesn't mean that you will scare it off seeing as it wants to make a meal of you, also it relies on light for finding daniel and that is why darkness is it's worst enemy, for when we hide in darkness it can't find us.
