Did you know that Australians are, per capita, better spellers of the word 'marvellous' than any other english speaking nation? Most Australians should be able to tell you why. (I think it went to #1).

Also, for obvious reasons, the class system was arrested earlier, and more successfully in Australia than in Britain. It is always interesting to observe, through British TV and the like, the prominence of the subject.

We have rich, poor, etc. but the birth right stuff has gone.

I love the bit where you turn to the camera at 0:12. Professor Emeritus is a retired professor though. Perhaps Professor Alice is so stubborn he keeps coming in and giving lectures despite no longer being employed there.

Howdy Bob, luckily the good professor had previously explained that posh came from the British upper class travailing to India by ship. P.ort O.ut S.tarboard H.ome. (Posh) It had something to do with the position of the sun and the comfort level of cabin temperatures.

It is sad, because whenever I've seen Brown speak (well only twice) the only references he's made to anything close have been about getting people out of poverty - the child trust funds, tax credits, fuel allowances, minimum wage and all that. There's enough there to go on without any negative campaigning, Tories are slimier so they'll always win at negative campaigning.

Yes, I think the Class System still exists, but it matters less.

I live in Australia, and there's no Class System as such, but it is still referred to as an existing factor in some situations, usually statistical. It just doesn't really matter for most of us.
