  • I'm Italian and still feel bad looking at this. Still think of the families who lost their dears that day, and in that horrible way

  • there is 1 good thing that came from this disaster rammstein

  • are people really trying to say this wasnt an accident?

  • I was living near there at the time, and if we hadn't been on holiday in Spain that weekend, we could well have gone to the show. I still hate airshows to this day.

  • Has to be the worst air collsion ever sadly today we lost RAF Red arrow red 4 today RIP John Eggin :(

  • just a little mistake,ans a disaster come out

  • I was there, it is difficult to forget. I was very lucky to have left the front of the crowd and walked back to my friend's further back when the Tricolore had just started. Mayhem afterwards...I feel for those lost and wounded.

  • Thank you Italian buddy for your support ! When I say "no" : It means no need to be sorry, the French are also responsible in Ustica in 1980 because they wanted to kill Khadafi and both incidents are linked... but the public can never be sure of the truth... as always... James Bond and spy films wouldn't exist if everybody knew everything...

  • I was there, I was 7, my brother was badly hurt, I thought he had died. He was sitting behind a plastic rope that cut into his arm (pulled by the plane advancing far on the left) and he was almost paralysed falling back! Now he has a thin arm full of scars n metal inside! This video makes me cry. I suffered in my childhood, had nightmares seeing planes crash!! And Rammstein music (so many people love) sounds like evil magnetism, enthusiasm about horror films. The group hurts me so much.

  • @cindyinde sorry to hear that man im so sorry you had to see that, that day

  • @left4james thank you !

  • @left4james thank you !

  • @left4james . Now I read better what you wrote :) ! I am a woman in fact ;) (nice one according to what other men tell my husband). My name is Cindy, I am French and I live in India right now. Don't know if you will see that answer :)

  • @cindyinde I'm sorry love I just wouldn't of expected a women to watch a video of this thats all I can understand you watching it though as like you said you were there on that dreadful day.

  • @cindyinde

The group hurts you? The self titled song by Rammstein was in commemoration about the accident.

  • @cindyinde As Italian, I'm still so sorry about what happened so long time again. In Italy none has forget what happend in Rammstein and we are still so sorry for all victism and survivors.

  • @attopaca . No ! I am sure it was not an accident, it was not the pilots' fault! I don't blame Italy at all! (I learned Italian for 2 yrs, go on holidays, eat coppa...). Check out Ustica 1980 ! These pilots were the last witnesses. All the other people had died in strange ways! My father used to go to Germany (we are French) to meet Sybille Jatzko (manager of a victim group) and she told him she sent letters to a journalist and they never arrived... strange things happened to her family also !

  • @cindyinde I know exactly the problem concerning Ustica and the fact that many strange deads happen to witness of Ustica night I know that the night of Ustica these 2 pilots were flying in F104 in Thyrrenian see and the give general alarm but nothing happen except for the Ustica air crash Probably Americans French Lybians and Italians in some ways were all involved in that orrible night In absence of evidence seems a fatal crash We are so proud of our FrecceTricolori but still so sorry and sad

  • i think the cause of the disaster is that the solo pilot flew in the direction of the public.

  • We all want to fly , Hearts in the sky , Slipping through the air , But not going to happen without gasoline !

  • @xtralog you should burn !

  • This is very saddening. The dear victims and families.

  • I bet most Americans here just say "those poor people" and stuff because they believe there were just American victims. Too bad most of them were "evil German krouts".

  • @DrakeWeAreLEAVING

Self-loathing? The regular people from the US/UK hate ANYTHING that is related to Germany.

  • @DrakeWeAreLEAVING

O rly? Sure, Britons love Germans. No, my dear, you're best advised not to go there.

  • Comment removed

  • @DrakeWeAreLEAVING U probably think no one here cares about what people in the UK think but coverage on Germany in the British media including massive Germanophobia is very well known here. As long as politics and business between both country is good there is no problem with that but keep in mind that these "We are so sorry for WWII" people are gone some day. Speaking of younger Germans nationalism & pride is growing faster & faster and any attempt to put us down will be reciprocated some day.

  • Comment removed

  • @DrakeWeAreLEAVING That's good to know. The sh*t these tabloids publish has always been presented as the overall British opinion by federal authorities and respected news networks and papers. Most Germans have little insight in the British society and I hope you forgive us for knowing little from each other. Peace.

  • @DrakeWeAreLEAVING

    All right then. ;)

  • It is Ramstein AB Flugtag (Air Day). It was an airshow hosted at the U.S. Air Force installation.

  • fukkin' patetic us-pseudodocumentation. most victims were germans so why they dont interview any german ???

  • @staplesInk probally cause it was broadcasted in america smart ass

  • @staplesInk Si, hai ragione. Yes, you're right! Molte condoglianze ancora. Many condolences again.

  • Rammstein. Ein Mensch brennt.

  • I remember laughing at this oxygen show disaster on the news!

  • Do you think that Till Linderman of Rammstein was at this event that day?

  • A big part of italians think that this was not an accident, but a sabotage to kill Mario Naldini (pony 1, leadre) and Ivo Nutarelli (pony 10, solo). Why?

Because they was on flight with theyr F-104G on Ustica's skys in the night of the disaster, on 1981. Certely they saw something, but they hadn't time to say. In fact, one week after Ramstein airshow they had to testimoniance to G.I.P. Fabbri, that was investigating on the Ustica disaster. About this, read Wikipedia...

  • I was there on the runway that day.

  • It was a sad day for sure, but in high-risk events such as these there's always a chance something can go wrong, it's amazing that nothing usually does.

  • So over-dramatic, fucking yanks, they even stopped the german ambulances from entering the airbase. They can't do anything subtly or right

  • According to quantum physicists, the most basic structures of matter: Quarks and Neutrinos, are constructed with Strings, a bizzare type of material that these experts describe as "Chaotic". If this is true, then we must live in a kind of set-point of order and control. Kind of like the eye of a mega-storm. Occasionally, some of this chaos makes its way into our peaceful existence; hence: Ramstein.

  • I remember seeing this feature on a TV channel, I really liked the music from the beginning, anyone could tell me what it was called this series of tv?

  • @AllesFurrDeutschland wow you are.....wow how could you say something like that! :(

  • @sirjohndsas because he is an idiot! his nick "AllesFuerDeutschland" (Which means "Evereything for Germany") probably should show his "patriotic attitude.. a real patriot is proud on his country and people, and he doesnt make fun of other countrys!

  • someone could tell me what it was called the television series where he presented this report?

  • @Alles fur Deutchland: I hope u and all your dear ones die in the fire, hit by a fucking german plane.

  • @AllesFurrDeutschland nen Krieg kannste auch nicht gewinnen mit denen oder kennste das Buch vom Italienischen Kriegsheld?....gibts ja gar nich>>>>

  • Blondie was obviously having a serious affair with the Italian dude.

  • lol she was gettin that big greasy dick all up in it

  • @MadisonSkeet

76 people died in that disaster. Some survivors carry scars to this very day. You disrespect the victims and you disrespect yourself in this childish behavior.

    Grow up

  • Es tut mir lied. Ich war ein bisschen hoch. I will grow up.

  • Pretty sure it was that kid's fault.

  • me too kids a fuckin d-bag

  • I hope you won't hate Frecce Tricolori for this awful tragedy...

  • wot the fuck do u kno about it

  • I know you spell words the "cool" way and it makes you look like a pre-teen girl texting on her cell phone.

  • i was there... brutal

  • @budheadlimp

so was my dad, he said that the italian pilots were drinking the night after the first show

  • @budheadlimp

my dad was there too, and he told me the italian pilots were drinking the night before after the first day, and at 4 31 when the plane crashed is where he was standing the day before, so he got lucky

  • @budheadlimp

my dad was there too, and he told me the italian pilots were drinking the night before after the first day, and at 4 31 when the plane crashed is where he was standing the day before, so he got lucky

  • @killianhennessey yea like when me and mom moved there in 98 she was like do they have any airshows? and they showed her the pics of the crash very graphic.

  • little spastic retard. dont talk shit about. you are only 25 and live in the usa.

  • Jetplane aka flying bomb ;) it is basicly a chair straped to a rocket lol

  • It was not a matter of if but when.....

  • awesome, nice footage!

  • "awesome"???How can you be so stupid...You moron...

  • for don't forget...........from udine (rivolto)

  • I was on the way to this show with my family the day this happened. We stopped for food, and within an hour the ambulances started coming by along with buses filled with burn victims. I was very young, and could not look as it was too disturbing.

If we had made it in time, we probably would have been right where the second jet crashed.

Whenever I think about that day, I am grateful for the meal we decided to take before going to the show. If we hadn't my family and I might not be here.

  • sniff

  • What the fuck is the point of this woman saying: Italian pilots like women of all shapes and sizes? Fucking fat pig was probably fucking half the Italian Air Force. Sorry about her "friend" Mario. With the way she was talking I was shocked to learn at the end of the video that see was married. This woman makes me sick.

  • Brin--I have to agree. That was a really odd and awkward comment for her to make!

  • Nice to be a jerk. Already told you that though... Why exactly does she make you sick? I can tell you with absolute certainty that she wasn't "fucking" half the Italian AF. Bet your mom is just as heavy or worse. And to the comment, Italian pilots do like women of all shapes and sizes and the comment helps to put more of a human face to people involved. Lord you people make me sick...

  • Have you watched this video? Your mother makes ME and others sick as well. Learn to read between the lines.

  • Who are the others? Only person spewing hate here is you pal. (ginger thought it odd and awkward) Same crap you said when you felt the need to send me a PM about it. Why exactly are you being so hateful? Do we know you? With your PM and the posts here, I truly wonder what your motivation is? The pilots were our friends. The year before (1987) Mario, his wife and two other pilots and their wives joined us for dinner at our house. I was at the crash, I very nearly died...what's your deal?!

  • LOL! If you can't see that your mothers comments were a bit "off" then I don't have much hope for you. Good luck with your life. *rolls eyes*

  • Hey, I never said I agreed with them, I just questioned why you felt the need to openly attack me directly for them in a hostile way. As far as my life goes, it goes fine. Just from my experience, once people hit a certain age, they tend to stop behaving like adolescents and start acting like adults. From your profile, you past this age over a decade ago. That's OK I suppose, it just makes you look bad. Good day to you sir.

  • Yawn.

  • your so cool copying what i said...

  • I was there with my family. When it happened, I was hit with disbelief over what was happening. Thankfully the battery on my video camera had run out and my son and I started walking back to the cars. My wife at the time had taken our daughter back to the car and heard the explosion of the aircraft. My son and I were showered with pieces from the burning aircraft. We will never forget it as long as we live.

  • Ramm

    Stein

    ...

    A man is burning.

  • Whatever..they are build to fight...NOT to stunt with.

  • HAHAAHHAHHH xD

  • You sick fuck. If you were there, you would not be saying that. You deserve to die in a fireball like that.

  • They were in the USA one week before and were refused permission to do this manuever. There has been no Fatal incident(s)involving the people attending airshows in the USA in over 40 years

  • I'm currently living on Ramstein air base, and i have a lot of friends and teachers who were right on the flightline when this happened. I think it was stupid for them to allow the italian soloist to fly right at the crowd. but had they pulled it off, it would have a beautiful stunt.

  • im not saying tht in a bad way it was a horrable tragedy and i know they were just trying to entertain but use some common sense

  • why does there need 2 be an investigation! 11 planes cross in three different directions at high speeds feet from the ground inches away from each other!dont take agenious 2 figure out whats gunna happen

  • how awful. what a tragedy

  • Fast planes flying at hish speeds, just feet from the ground, that is, from the crowds, crossing each other at extremely close distance. A ticket to major disaster. How can people, military and public, be so stupid? Is it worth risking your (and your relatives') lives for just see that "show"? Airshows should be forbidden everywhere.

  • It would be nice to look into things before you make such comments. There are many precautions taken at airshows. Especially in the states. If you want to sit on your safe little couch, go for it. Don't pretend to know what's good for the rest of us.

  • I repeat: Fast planes flying at hish speeds + just feet from the ground, that is, from the crowds + crossing each other at extremely close distance (considered dangerous in any flight rule). Which are the precautions? Flame retardant clothes for the crowds? Blast-proof bunkers? None of that.

  • Precautions such as the 'aerobatic box' which outlines the distances aircraft have to be from the crowd during the display. Precautions as very strict rules as to how the direction aircraft can be flown in the 'box'. Not directing any energy toward the crowd. This was the problem in this accident. The soloist was directed right at the crowd. If this wasn't the case, only the pilots would've died.

And flying aircraft at one another isn't the danger I believe you think it is.

  • pulsejet1, rva1945, u r both right. X-low altitude, N of planes involved, N of flows converging (3!!), X-small altit diff btwn these 3 flows, and above all the plane towards crowd; an American team would never have been authorized so. All that was clearly violating all rules, was charged as such on pilots by air authorities, but seems overshadowed now - sure because they were Italian (If American they would be bashed 1st page media-wide world-wide for decades)

  • I life near Mainz in Rheinland-Pfalz. So, Ramstein is about 100Km away, but i remenber myself on this day. I was just 4 years old. The street was full of ambulance and police, driving to ramstein as fast as they can. I will never forget that...

  • RIP

  • 20 years ago today, I was 12 years old and was in the audience when this tragedy took place...I will never forget those planes colliding and the plane that hit the audience. RIP Victims.

  • 28th of august is the 20th anniversary. after all this long time the pictures are still in me awake. my condolence the survivor of this disaster. many germans and many americans...

  • Couldn't have said it better :(

  • Thank you for your kind words. I am one of those survivors (luckier than many) but I still have physical and mental scars. This year was not as bad as other years, but I still didn't sleep well. I tell you what, an incident like this really forces a child to grow fast.

  • and 3 italian pilots too. RIP

  • 70 people dead 2000 injured

  • *cry*

  • very touching, thanks.

  • those poor people :(

  • so are you.

  • R.I.P for all the people that died in this crash......

  • I had a friend : he deads in this show.

    I remember you Thierry

  • it should be sad

    am sorry about him

  • :.(

  • when did they crash?

  • anybody kno what kind of jet they are flying?

  • Aermacchi MB-339

  • They fly Aermacchi MB339 PAN

  • Horrible :s

    Rip

  • R.I.P.

  • I come from Landstuhl its about 3km from Ramstein and my Dad was a paramedic there i saw some videos and its really scarry to see that. R.I.P

    greetz ffw

  • Scarry?

  • Get a life dude. This video is interesting. Stop being so money hungry.

  • Yes. Fuck off asswipe dickface.

  • Amen. xD

  • amen.. que demosnios dices?

  • yes and no.. :O

  • How do you think you can control information that is freely available on the internet? Scare tactics won't work I'll tell you that much. BTW, if it's not about the money, then release your photos under the creative commons or a similar license. Also, your photos document an historical event of high importance. People are interested in the event, not in who took the photo. That may sound harsh, but such is life.

  • C'mon, dude. Be serious. It was a documentary he recorded. If anything, it's the show that HAD the documentary that should be at fault.

  • Ramstein is not the largest Air Force Base outside of the United States. Its Kadena.

  • I witness video. This program aired originally in 1992.

  • May they rest in peace. The Frecce tricolori are daring pilots who entertained a lot of people. It was an accident.

  • does anyone of you remember the original name of this documentation or which channel aired it first? would be very helpful.

    thanks,

    mm

  • How the fuck can so many people here be so heartless?

  • You're a fucking monster pal

  • I feel soorry for you

  • incredible tragedy

  • when you see the plane crash at 4.52 is that it hitting tht crowd

  • Yes. I was there, all my hair was burnt to the inside of my clothes.

  • shit happens

  • amico jarrelana sorry but the frecce tricolori are best of the world, always. Patrulla aguila??? :D

  • :):)...yes!! Patrulla Aguila

  • si si la patrulla uhauhauhauhauhauha oh my god :))

  • how many planes crashed into the crown/ground

  • 3 crashed on the airfield. The one crashed toward the crowd and hit a freezer truck which kept the deaths from being in the thousands. 2 other craft crashed on the opposite side of the field near the rescue chopper.

  • Thank god our Red Arrows have never crashed

  • Obviously, when you make SIMPLE things....
