  • very smart dogs these are this is what there breed for :D

  • you should have yourself a locator collar and a camping shovel. ya dont wanna loose your dog if its to deep and the hole collapes. looks like hes having fun!

  • Good thing there wasn't a earthquake...

  • That stumpy tail and puckered anus amuses me.

  • its fun watching dogs dig with only their tails sticking out n dirt flying out ha

  • Looking at this makes me claustrophobic!

  • @spankMAbooTAY GO GO GO DIG DIG DIG YAY DOGGY. . . . . XD

  • My dog does the same thing in our back yard- our whole yard looks like this now- we have gophers and I can't put out any traps or certainly any kind of poisons because of our JRT.... too dangerous for his sake. I don't know how to get rid of them, id like to have a yard for my 5 year old to play in without twisting her ankle, yet our JRT has a blast and brings in "gifts" now and then! What a joy! Yuck... LOL! LOve your JRT- too cute. Thanks for sharing <3

  • Why would anyone let the dog they love go after something that can hurt the dog or have rabbi's

  • @Lenaandron rabbi's huh? so jewish people are more dangerous to JRT's than diseases? XD

  • @Lenaandron and that is why you would be useless at hunting.

  • i wish my Jack can see others do this and get into it too

  • cute

  • gay as didnt get anything :(

  • Good dawgie

  • I have a jack russel 7 years ago and now im still feeling super lucky for having him. They have so so much positive personality to offer you

  • @DannyFromBallyroe they're meant to do just this: dig and catch foxes, gophers, squirrels, etc.,

  • CAN I HIER UR DOG

  • My place has too many BIG rats. They eat my chicks.

  • i love it.

  • my chocolate lab did that but we had to put him down a couple weeks ago :(

  • hes so cute i have a jack russel named Skit

  • eh wat are de meant 2 b doin like

  • My JRT looks almost exactly like yours does with the black markings, long legs, spot on his behind... He just turned eight, so he's turning a bit gray but still loves to hunt!

  • wow, tough little bugger, too bad you didn't have two, one for each end.

  • @spankMAbooTAY Lol, i can't imagine what you must be like in real life, hahahahaha. Very annoying i imagine

  • Next time He goes to ground like that, try to remove His collar, He'll either get stuck or lose it down the hole

  • @Fongolitus The dog is a nice worker. He's determined. If you send him down holes it's best if he wears a locating collar(take off his regular collar). If you need to dig him out you will know exactly where he is and how far down. Some groundhog holes can be 30 ft. Also there is a program called T.R.A.P.P.E.D., if your dog ever disappears down a hole and you cant get them out there are volunteers to help. go to trappeddog-dot-com

  • Yep that's my dog alright

  • I love how cute his butt is when it sticks out!

  • @spankMAbooTAY

Yes he dug most of it. It was just an gopher entry hole when he started digging. He wore himself out and never did get the gopher. I think sometimes it's just the scent that attracts him not live gopher. This is my second JRT and this is what they both love more than anything....well except for food.

  • gophers have ticks, lice and other things we have never heard of.....but its up to you, its your dog.

  • he seems huge for a jack russell

  • He's like a G.I. Tunnel Rat going after the V.C....lol

  • i freaked when i saw a dog come up from the hole:o

  • i have 2 jack russels 1 is a shorty and named peanut and another named ginger they are bad cuzz they digg upp everything and eat everything you can think off!!!! but right after i give them a bath after they get dirty they roll right back into the mudd

  • are jrt ment to go in small holes

  • @Fongolitus sweet

  • nice dog

  • lol "dog on a mission"

  • aww my jack looks really similar but the personality is exactly the same

  • 3:08 looks like hes shitting dirt!!

  • dere is a burrow near my house and my jack russell wont go in is this because theres nothing in it or shes jst fckin awkward

  • my jack doesn't hunt like this! i wish she would, but she gives up as soon as its out of reach. she will watch squirrels in our yard, and be really still, and wait to run at it, but then she doesn't get close enough so the squirrel always gets away because she starts running from too far away. and as soon as its in the tree she gives up! silly silly

  • Have u noticed these dogs tend to rise thei back legs, especially when they go downstairs....

    Well, my jrt does that....

  • i got a lab. when i find fresh gopher holes in my ditches or see them around... i fill up a couple 5-gallon pales with water and flush them out. when they come up my dog gets em

  • mine too :D

  • I don't get it. Is the dog farting dirt?

  • @sjktss no hes kicking it O_o

  • @sjktss are you serious?

  • @wizdumbb No. Just wanted to post something stupid. The internet is great, isn't it?

  • Reminds me of my Jack Russell POPPSY they are clever dogs no dought ,and such cheeky little charactersand very loyal,.But please what does a wheaton look like ive never heard. of it.

  • yep JRTs are the best dogs ever. just that most owners are too impatient and sissy so they just want a lap dog.

my JRT is one of the smartest dogs i know so i hate it when people say they are the worst dogs ever when they havent even owned one.

my eats spakrs and isnt afraid of any other dog... just the hose. haha.

  • I was worrying tht the dog would tht stuck in there

  • Quite similar markings to mine.

Treat them right with attention and hunting activities, they will reward you for it in and out of the house. Being pc glad mine cant climb but certainly will dig.

Absolutely no behaviour probs, maybe i understand his needs and supply, not bad as a first timer.

  • i cant wait to get a jack russell it will be my first dog

  • A jack Russell should never be a first dog. Very hard to deal with.

  • @FattyFignon

Do you even have JRT? I do, and she is the best dog ever. People say they are too much. I think there the ones that don't have one.

  • Yes Spankey I do in fact have 3 JRTs. Terriers have been a part of my family since I can remember. You are right they are the best little dogs. However shouldn't be someones first dog. As a "claimed" Jack Russell lover maybe you should know better than to lead a novice into the world of JRTs, Offen these dogs are abandoned by people with good intentions. If this person really wants a Terrier maybe he should start with a Wheaten.

  • start with a wheaton? really?

How much do you really know about terriers as a whole? Wheaton terriers are one of the toughest of all terriers, way beyond the capabilities of a jrt.

  • Yes Frenchy my family has bred Jack Russells for over 35 years. I would say a first terrier should be a Wheaten or maybe a Yorkie. Yes and we have had Wheatens too

  • I agree I had two rat terriers and a Lab before I got my first Jack still have the two Rat Terriers great first terrier or 2nd or third love my Jack but she is a lot of dog too much for a beginner

  • Indd. when we got our jack russel ( male)

he was very playfull, kinda scared to go outside.

Now it's a 2 yr old hunter, with 5 rabbit kills and he trashes mice nest's.

It's hard to explain to people why I let my dog attack and kill a rabbit.

Well, the dog runs away from me after he grabbed his prey.

    Taking it somewhere quite.

jack russels tend to do what they like, there proud little doggies.

They swim, they run like crazy, they are never afraid, nomather how big the dog is.

  • This is what Jack Russells are bread for.... It must be very fullfilling for him !

  • wow thats one determined dog

  • and aren't they all determined.....so cool

  • Hell yeah what a great dog!!!! Good to see a family letting their dog do what it was meant to do - makes the dog much happier.

  • great dogs love them :)

  • I have a Jack that is also named Ozzie. He's a Texas Bear Creek Russell (shortie) with almost the exact same markings as your dog. He is definitely a ratter. Amazing dog and Good markings. My dog is kind of freckled. I really love your video. I will let you know when I post a video of him here on youtube, so you can check it out.

  • The guy who made this video should't let him play in holes..

I also have a jackrussel, and mine got stuck in the ground once when chasing a rabbit.

It's fun at first, but the dog can suffocate when he gets stuck so watch out with that.

Also haha jack russels are the best dogs, there so small but still they have no fear for larger dogs and they feel big.

You must love there attitude haha!

  • ive got five and i love all of em there great dogs

  • Or as they're more appropriately known "Richardson's Ground squirrel."

  • Russells are killers !!! true killers !!

  • i have a jrt

  • ozzie is a true fighter. The jrt:s simply never give up

  • i ahve a jakc russell named ozzie too i actually have 2 jack russells and a golden retriever
