abras- Bad English was a JOHN Waite Jon Cain project. The bassist was not David Coverdale, who is English, but Ricky Phillips who played with Waite/Cain in The Babys. Neal almost didn't join the band because he was in New York at the time working on a solo project. Not sure about Deen. I think Neal knew him from Frisco.

because if you listen carefully to the lyrics this song is about reincarnation and finding a Love you knew in a previous Lifetime. In the video, the previous lifetime was a long time ago, and with a castle. John Waite (the Lead singer) has written stuff along these lines a few times now. he is a great writer.

As much as the fans may want for Steve Perry to rejoin Neal Schon and Jon Cain--or for John Waite to work with them again as well--it's important to remember that's a decision that fans simply can't make. We don't know and really have no right to no why none of them are on speaking terms. You don't always want to get back together with someone who hurt you. The splits John had with the Babys and with Bad English were Johns creative destruction. John has to be in control. Jonathan Cain took him a song that he had written and John turned it down and said he didn't think it was very good. Jonathan took it to Steve Perry, Journey recorded it and it's their biggest song ever. The song was "Open Arms". He should have been so much bigger of a star but he made the solo records on his own terms and you have to respect that.
