The British SAS are the most original Commandos. They are the Special Forces unit upon which all others are based. Greece had the Spartans back in 300 BC who were the greatest of their time.

Economy plays a massive role in war. It is probably the most important part of war. How can you win if you can't pay your army, or re produce lost tanks and planes? Exactly.

@CLICKMEYOULOSER The Stormtroopers were an elite shock force. Germany at that time also had a mountain troop, who were commandos that took out radar stations only. The SAS were trained at a lot of things, making them the first Special Forces unit. Same thing goes for the SBS.

I never said age means everything, age means knowledge and having more knowledge than someone else gives you a huge advantage. Luckily, the SAS and SBS shared their knowledge and thus the SEALs and Delta Force were made.

@CLICKMEYOULOSER SAS training has been improved and refined since their birth. SEAL training is watered down SBS training, and DEVGRU training is the same thing as SBS. SAS shouldn't be compared to the SEALs but to Delta Force.

SAS selection has an average of a 4% success rate. I heard Delta Force is 10% from an interview with a US Tier 1 operator.

The CIA have a special military unit called SAD that consists of Delta, DEVGRU and 24th STS officers.
