  • Everytime I see this car, I think about actress Stefanie Powers driving an SL in the intro to the 1979-1984 crime drama TV series "Hart To Hart." This was one of the cars to be seen in Hollywood in those days.

  • @MrPman851

nah. Bobby Ewing was the king of the R107 on tv

  • @jwatwater, true but other celebs drove these and drove them well back in the day.

  • @jwatwater, true. But other celebs and people who could afford these drove them and drove them well back in the day

  • This is why Mazda hasn't changed the MX-5 in 16+ years. Keep it sporty, Keep it simple.

  • while driving, tis cae gives you the impression that 'no limits' is something that can be achieved

  • I guess every one wanted one back in the day

  • The BEST SL generation ever. The following was good and handsome, but the 21st century version became an horrible car.

This one had class with sport look and luxury. Good times.

  • @DerAdventurer yep but i like the r129 better

  • @Dantheman13091996 ||| R129 is the last elegant SL class produced. The following generation, already in the 21st century became a sportscar like all others, without MB usual class. ;)

  • These are still a head turner. Definitely one of the most attractive and timeless cars of the 20th Century.

  • i actually own one (its an 87). It has to be the most beautiful car ever built in my opinion. Its got style, class and horsepower like no other. mine has 160k miles on it and it still runs like new!

  • They were $48,200 in 86. That's a little over $95,000 today.

  • @Gorbachev4Life nah, thats about 86k

  • Thanks for posting. Super commercial!

By the way, this 560SL must be from 1986 or 1987. Please note position and large style of the brake light in the middle of the boot/trunk.

1988-89 models had a smaller brake light on the edge of the boot trunk.

  • @bruxellesbenelux very observant..not many know that..
