  • 4:58 I love Madonna but... How did I know she was going to say that? ugh.

  • MADONNA,I LOVE YOU!!!

I work sometimes in Somalii, see You please:foundation for Somalii

  • people are dying because of AIDS and it 's right to see this reality in Africa .

thank you Madonna to be their voice.

  • Is there anyway I can help them?

  • she is great

  • this is awareness simply to awaken the world to help.. who cares if it is a celeb that is promoting it.. they have money to start up the promotion and help so its up to us to follow and help as well.

  • what is the name of the song used in the end.. ANd I think that it is not "Star of Wonder" .. :)

  • EPIDEMICITY!!!!

  • I AM BECAUSE WE ARE

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song toward the end with the African lady singing or any of the songs in this trailer? thanks.

  • Good awareness campaign by Madonna

  • Good awareness campaign by Madonna

  • 2 comments by viewers, who counter-actively n simultaneously write negatively about madonna while believing they r giving praise. she's a person who's made a name 4 herself, whether u like her or what she's made.. why do some have to put negativity in their words to make u seem positive. just dote on how she reveals what a man made disease has done to africa/the black/gay/subcultures of America, as it was first intended to kill off.

  • Wow, I almost can't believe that Madonna is affiliated with this doc. I've new found respect for his woman. In the past, it seemed like everything she was associated with was a vehicle for her enormous ego or her career; but this is completely different. Perhaps that mystical Jewish thing is finally working for her...

  • @ritter89 I kind of used to think the same about her but she has changed so much trhough time and you can see this clearer in the I'm going to tell you a secret documentary, it made me cry, I couldn't believe it, I recommend you watch it, it's here on youtube, it's worth watching it!!!

  • brilliant!!!! no holywood crap, no agenda, just humanity. i never even liked madonna until i saw this. well made.

  • @nilesriver2 you're right I didn't really had any concept about her before, but after I watched this and the I'm going to tell you a secret documentary wich is here on youtube and I highly recommend you watch it, I learnt as she said herself that she has changed so much trhough time, she's more aware of the World problems now and she's trying harder to make a difference, my respect for her increased a lot since I watched I'm going to tell you a secret, watch it it's worth it!!

  • we whatched this movie at course as a lesson. (for human relations)

"if i stop what will happen to me.

if i do not stop what will happen to him????"

  • Good doc in highlighting the problems - but why is the title a zulu phrase? what happend to chichewa? there are lots of great things being done in Malawi to help the crisis - i hope this film gives them credit. Zikomo Kwambiri x

  • It doesn't matter what language it is in... If we are all one, if my identity only exists because you do, then of what import is it that it is another tongue. If you are me, and we are the same... what difference does it make? I am not Zulu nor even from Southern Africa... But the truth, regardless of the language resonates in my heart and in yours too.

  • Powerful. Evocative. Touching.

  • does anyone know the song used at 3:15 mark?

  • i would like to know too! if you get a answer. could you tell me the name ot that song?

  • I like to know too =/

  • i just want to say, that i was a neonazi, since i was 12 years and until i leave this stupid thing when i was 16 (now im 18) i just have to say thanks Madonna you really change complety my point of view now i know that theres a world suffering and they dont need hate they need help!

after all we get sick the same way, we smile the same way, and we bleed the same color.

  • Yours is one of the strongest testimonies I´ve ever heard. I´m very glad to hear it. And people say Madonna is not important, they have no idea how she has helped and profoundly changed a lot people. And by changing people´s minds she´s changing the world. And also are we.

  • I have been living in Malawi for two years now. The level of poverty is ridiculous. What bothers me is that we are in the 21 century and people still live in such conditions. I work in development and the people of Malawi are really grateful.

  • I have the same thought of this

    HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

If we are living in 21 century and people still living like that and dying so fast cause the AIDS

this is so terrible I can't imagine what life is there

  • heartbreaking. i can't find the appropriate word to describe what Madonna's doing for those people. this woman is just amazing!

  • This was a very important video for me to watch, because it speaks of a truth I would have otherwise never known.

Not quite sure what I need to do yet....but the seed has been sown.

    Thank you Madonna.

  • Madonna is doing a great job out there.

Congratulations to everyone who is part of that amazing campaign.

I AM BECAUSE WE ARE- It's very moving!

  • So so sad and in this beautiful world, this should just not be; there must be more that we can do to stop this horror. The beautiful smiles of some of the children in the mist of all that saddness, how could anyone turn their back on this crisis. Madonna has the strength, power, love and worlds attentions, she may just be what we need to make all of us stop looking away and do something about this human crisis.

  • That's so sad !! Go Madonna !!! I'm with her no matter what !!! AND fuCK bEnOit 16

  • i felt so extremely bad for the little girl who lost her son and had to do that horrible tradition

  • i felt so extremely bad for the little girl who lost her son and had to do that stupid tradition

  • Disturbing, beautiful and very poinient at the same time!

  • This makes me realize I take stuff for granted.

I and I think we should do something and fast about this problem.

    This was an amazing movie

  • Love this video, and the woman behind it. This was Madonna's true calling and it's onward and up. This is one film that needs to be watched. It's a piece of Madonna's greatest vision.

  • do someone know the name of the song ore artist at 5:00

    pleas tel me:D

  • I love the song at 5:00 xD

I think this is a very sad, but also kinda beautiful documentary..

I have some friends in down there, and my uncle help them to build schools, hospitals etc. in Africa..

  • what is the name of this music?

  • MUSIC: Sufjan Stevens - Star of Wonder

  • not the one they're talking about though....it's not Sufjan ....he is in the Documentary , but not the song on mark 3 : 15 and 5 :00

  • That is a awesome movie... Very Strong Message and very well put 2gether. HIV and Malaria kill so many people in Malawi and other parts of Africa. Unfortunatley a majority of the people in the West dont give a shit about what happens outside there own neighbourhood. Hopefully many young kids at school in the west will watch this and realize how lucky they are.

  • Amazing vid. we watched this is geography with my normally out of control class but weirdly enough, every person was watching it the whole way through. Maybe this really will get through.

  • BTW the USA is not a country, it is legally a Corporation owned by the British Crown, (not the Queen, but the Bank of England). Through the "Act of 1871" the USA was newly created as a Corporation. Also, IRS Publication 6209, Articles of Association Oct. 20, 1774. The US was owned by the Virginia Trading Company according to International Law. The land could not legally be taken by another. You are a corporation in the eyes of the Law.

  • It's particularly disturbing since there is a cure for AIDS. Colloidal Silver. Even a scientist at MIT cured AIDS with it, but the HUGH Pharma companies, (like Merck who first brought AIDS to humanity), don't want you to know it. There is a vid here on Youtube of the head scientist at Merck saying, "Little did we know we were bringing AIDS into the country," to which the Merck camera guy responds "Merck will do anything for a profit" (laughing). It was Merck who got it out into the public.

  • it is not only Malawi...there are many countries in Africa...may be worse than this..

  • i am white, i am an american, i am very lucky to be living in this country. but i wish i could live in malawi for one day just to realize their pain they've been suffering through. so what we don't trade with them? so what they don't have anything to offer? in fact, i change my wish, i wish everyone in america could live in malawi for one day to see what it's like

  • i went there for a month last summer im still in high school and it was the most heart renching, life changing experience of my life. And you are right all american kids should have a chance to spend a day there just to see what they have but the problem is they see it on television but it doesnt go in they dont believe it...... its time to make a change i think.

  • I am white, so don't speak for all white people. What you are saying is just as bad as any other group that hates on people. We are never going to get to the road of peace and prosperity until we all think of eachother as brother and sister, because its pretty much what we are.

  • i'm very disappointed at these comments. all i wanna know is: why?

  • what a horrible and rude thing to say. these are people, just like you, you are no better than them. i feel sad for how pathetic you are.

  • why do you people leave comments about her good deeds if you hate her so much, get a life.

  • Does anyone know if this documantary will came on DVD any time soon????

  • God Bless Malawi... God Bless Madonna - where are everyone else's millions going? It's our human duty to help these people.

  • They need help and we can help them.

  • lol

  • We are because "I AM"

  • Madonna is brilliant and I really think it's a great idea to make this documentary. I am getting my high school involved with the Raising Malawi project and plan on showing this documentary to my school once it comes out on DVD.

  • I'm a huge Madonna fan and to me this is her best work yet.

  • Knowledge IS power. I'm glad that there are people that are trying to help and to teach. Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish, he'll eat for the rest of his life. There's only so much one person can do. Donateing funds for food, doctors, medicines and teachers is the best way to help.

  • Africa is the mother of the humanity, plz, dont make negative comments.

  • How can you make negatives comments after watching this? You Tubers are a nation of haters.

  • Whats wrong if she has the money ? Yes shes a millionaire ,so shes helping someone who need her help . Unlike someone here talking because of envy and didnt even care about the people who siffer.

  • I think Madonna should be awarded for Nobel Peace priza.

  • I resent the notion of 'we' as if I am responsible for what goes on thousands of miles away.

The only responsibility or concern I have is toward my own family, community and country.

A strong nation is built from the ground up, it cannot be imposed from the outside.

I don't want all the problems of the world foisted upon me.

People are different, we have different histories, culture etc.

Most of these problems are cultural, not my problem, nothing I can or should do about it.

  • ask ur ancestors whos problem this is. you are sain that its not 'our' responsibility, but if u look bk in history n colonisation, ask yourself the wealth and things that were stolen, which then resultd in poverty. if this had not happened, it would not be a poor nation, needing assistance. so it is the duty of the very same people who took from them to man up and give things back.

besides its a human right that they receive help to preserve their life, where ever they can get it

  • some of these people behind this movement have plenty of $. Instead of putting so much energy in creating awareness w/ the spotlight on themselves, they should take a portion of their $, go their, & help out. Instead they will want to create some foundation w/ their name on it, with only makes one wounder who they are really trying to help.

  • Its funny you say that. They are not trying to throw money at Malawi, they are helping Malawians help build Malawi. Give a man a fish fed for a day, teach him how to fish fed for a lifetime concept. Also... Its even funnier, because the people who have so much negative things to say about organizations who try and help, I would like to say to them: What have you personally done to help. Awareness is very important.

  • Can you please go and spread your negativity and jealousy elsewhere please. Thanks.

  • How can I get the full length movie?

  • It's being released slowly. It debuted at a few major film festivals around the US earlier this year. It's an amazing film. Very real, very honest...

  • Powerful. God bless the people of Malawi - and the Developing World as a whole

  • Madonna is an amazing woman for raising awareness as to how these children are suffering in Malawi, these children need all the help they can get. God bless all the people of Malawi.

  • que bien que madonna hace documentales asi, para apoyar a personas de escasos recursos y con enfermedades incurables, en este caso el sida, no solo hay que ver el video, sino tratar de cambiar eso

  • Well she certainly beats her husband in film making!!

  • What a good idol, she may be a bitch sometimes but she has reched out to these people, and i applaud her for that

  • HKRRising, I completely agree that Madonna's a big-time bitch. But I am so glad that she's helping these people. They deserve so much better.

  • This Is So Sad. Madonna Is An Amazing Woman For Doing This.

  • ilove u Madge!

  • I think it's an exelent documentary, i'm looking forward to watch it !

  • wow madonna you go girl

  • soo moving (U)

    thank you madonna

  • Te amo Madonna, salvaste a un niño de la muerte segura, ojala el mundo algun dia viera lo que sucede en muchos paises pobres y haga algo, pero parece ser que es algo que no quieren ver

  • I admire what she's doing.

It pisses me off that the media have to be so narrow-minded and put so much crap on her for doing a good thing.

Keep up the excellent work Madonna!!!

  • Thank you, Madonna

  • Thank You Madonna. Anyone who doesn't know how to help can donate to Madonna's charity Raising Malawi. At least you're doing something. It's a great start. Send a check. Feel good. Follow up with something more creative next time. Just don't be passive.

  • It baffels me why AIDS is so predominent in Africa>

  • It predominantly due to the transitory male work force that allows it to spread like it does

  • There is no relavence between transitory male workf force and aids. I don't see the cause and effect.

  • The males spread it from Village to Village some of these guys have more than one family & no one there seems to know what birth control or condoms are so its a recipe for disaster

  • I don't know what the causes are; however, Madonna must be praised for raising awerness to this calamity. GOD BLESS HER.

  • i am surprise to see how bad a video can make me feel, my eyes are all teary and my heart is broken. I hope i can be able to do something to make others realize how important it is to look at what the needs of others are, not only shelter but sincere love as well.........AIDS is a disease that exists here in this world but the day god call us we all are cure.........an transform to be what we were at the beginning of formation.....

  • I don't care what critics say, they're evil anyway! If someone tries to help these people who are in need, thanks God for them!Thank you,Madonna.Either they're in Malawi,or Darfur,I don't care what race they are, they are brothers, sisters. If we don't pay attention and help,God won't forgive us.How can you let your brothers suffer? That's the question that will be asked to us.What is our answer? We were busy trying to find out which country we should sell weapons to?Who is Paris Hilton dating now?

  • Madonna really is an extraordinary person. I love the way she had her 'selfish' period from the Material Girl days right up to Erotica/SEX. And then, something in her seemed to change, and she started to be a much softer, warmer person, which seems to be culminating in her philanthropic efforts in Malawi.

It's annoying the that media always vilifies her but any true Madonna knows that in the end this just makes her even more determined to succeed, and more often than not she does.

  • Damn, my eyes are all teary.

I just found out that Sigur Ros and Gustavo Santaolalla have donated music to the soundtrack - amazing artists behind two (gay) films I love the most - Brokeback Mountain and the video to Viorar Vel Til Loftarasa. Score composed by longtime M collaborator, Pat Leanord.

ANYONE KNOW WHICH SONG SIGUR ROS DONATED?

Can't wait to see this film, but I have to say, I've long been inspired to do something about AIDS, as a world tragedy. Africa is hit the hardest.

  • This video was beautiful and makes me want to do something. Well done, Madonna! You have inspired me and many more.

  • If you get the chance to see this film, please do, it's inspirational. It's amazing, informative, & very moving. You can't see it, and not want to do something!

  • "To assume control over a continent one must eliminate its people." But we can do something about this...as you see.

Blessings to all who are spreading this msg and getting involved with the collective salvation of humanity

  • I wish there was a cure for AIDS.

  • There is, that's the fucked up part. Electromagnetics. The info is scatterred out there.

What we need is a cure for greed.

  • there is a cure for aids, just not out there.

for those who do not believe this - do not then. im not here to convince you. but there are medicine that slows down the course of the disease, but the western drug companies dont want to give it to africa. why? beacuse the media never reports this important matters enough, the suffering in iraq/palestine/darfur-sudan. western governments dont ignore and stays passive, so its up to the people to do smthing! wake up and be active!

  • I am one for conspiracy theories and sometimes I believe in Govt. coverups, but there is no aids conspiracy or cure that no one knows about. I used to believe that at one time when I was younger, but the same they said about Cancer. If there was a cure, don't you think famous people, scientists, billionaires with money who have had aids and cancer would still be alive? They have all the money and access to better healthcare. It's a myth.

  • This is why I always loved Madonna,...a real "Human-Being"......Thank You!!!

  • does someone know when the video is coming out to rent or buy it?

  • does anyone know where i can find the music used in the trailer:!?!?!?!?!

  • The piano used in the first is "Star of Wonder" by Sufjan Stevens off the fifth disc of his "Songs for Christmas" collection. I don't know about the rest.

  • Thank you Madonna.

  • I love madonna so much for doing this documentary being from Africa I have always said that am going to reach people in my country. And this video has inspired me even the more am not going to give up and I thank all the people that have helped us also being compassionate be blessed we can all change lives.

  • Re:Leoneldolara...I think most understood what I meant here. Just that "before it gets closer to YOU." meaning that it is closer in your world than you might think, and therefore a risk to all. Hope that helps with your confusion on what I meant. And as far as 'misunderstanding' Madonna...well,it is what it is to each and every one. we each get something different out of the film and are touched by different aspects of it. Good Luck.

  • this just proves how caring and compassionate the queen of pop is. Madonna is truly an incredible human being and this only makes me even stronger fan. she once said her job was to wake people up and this film does more then just that. no one better then Queen Madonna!

  • Yes! I love how she is.

  • I m really moved by this clip and i m glad that Madonna took this job so seriously. I cant wait to see the whole movie, and I love the music used in this clip.Does anyone know where i can find it?

  • Glad Madonna uses her power to help people with aids. Since meeting her at Danceteria in the 80s and all through her career she never gets stale. She is a rolling stone.Much light to her and her family.

    XOXO

  • I am MADONNA's greatest and most loyal fan living on Earth at this time. I urge you all to donate what you can to this WORTHY cause. The more YOU GIVE, the more blessings YOU RECIEVE. We can fight HIV/AIDS. We are more powerful than we think. Please do what you can to help before it gets closer to YOU.

  • Everything right. But "before it gets closer to you" is not the idea baby... It all ends up coming down to what we will suffer, what about start thinking in someone else. I guess you misunderstood her... Take care.

  • I was so moved by this clip. What a fantastic job Madonna has done to highlight the plight of the Malawi nation. I want to help but how can I?

  • Spread the word. Educate yourself. See if you can help raise resources for Malawi.Start something in your school, every little bit helps.

  • This film looks fascinating. Very sad, and moving. I hope plent of people get to see it. Looks like Madonna did a good job.
