1. this isn't really an advantage because you want your fighter to be equipped with air to air or air to ground missiles. land launched or ship launched anti satellite missiles are better off. 90% of the time it wont be equipped with those missiles
6. the raptor has 2d tvc engines so it can be stealthier but its not as maneuverable , the j20 has 3d tvc for more maneuverability but suffers from stealth

The problem is, countries are going to hold back now because of their economies. Another factor is there will be other options open to them and it could be cheaper than the F-35. @panda2hk 你好我雖然不是軍事專家,但多年來對武器和戰術感興趣,所以我以戰術回看飛機性能,首先隱形的目的是視距外接近敵人,比敵人先發射飛彈擊落對方.短程起降表示不需要大機場,可以在接近敵人的臨時機場起飛,支援友軍,主要是陸軍和空軍的地面攻擊機,超音速巡航也是快速投入戰場,支援友軍,靈活性是近距離空戰和躲避敵方飛彈.,這是我的理解,所以F-22是除了要空戰外,也很重視戰場支援,但是J-20應該是以空戰為主,那短程起降和超音速巡航意義應該不大,空戰時最重要的是距離,外界批評J-20的鴨翼和全動式尾翼時,我實在搞不懂,我在視距外接近你時,不會做任何大動作,所以基本上鴨翼,尾翼是貼緊機身,不會被雷達偵測出,一旦打開彈匣艙時,連F-22也無法隱形,至於進入空中纏鬥時,隱形意義不大,是靈活性,這時鴨翼,尾翼的功能就能發揮,所以我認為J-20優於F-22,因為世界没有全能的飛機,既是最佳的空優戰機又同時能戰場支援,我認為美國會重新設計一款完全以空戰為主的隱形戰機.

china and russia are trying to hard to build a stealth fighter, america has perfected the fighter in about every aspect while theyre trying to build a so called 4.5 gen fighter as fast as they can. In stealth design from best to worst- F22,F35 and J-20 about the same, PAK FA
In radar sensors- F35,F22,PAK FA, last is J-20 because China lacks any technology to build a better radar but they may come with a suprise

@lmola501 The thing is that China doesn't need the best fighters because wars aren't won by them these days. They are won economically, and if China can use the knowledge they develop from this fighter in an export version, they can really put a dent in the American hegemony of military exports.

@lmola501 and in 2001 China took apart of the state of the art American P-3C and studied it for 3 month. so Chinese are not foreign to american electronic warfare system and information process. also if you look at Wikileak China has a handful of spies working closly in American military research industry and have obtained vast amount about american military system. including aegis. F-22 was designed in the 80's so some of the stuff implemented isn't exactly that state of the art anymore.

@lmola501 Another thing is, when numerous countries have these stealth capabilities, it will seriously reduce the US power military as well as economically. Will the US sell F-22 to others? they barred the sale even to its closest allies. China and Russia on the other hand will make and sell these things. This will put America's main source of revenue into jeopardy. Unless they are willing to give away their lead by selling their best weapon, they are going to be losing out.

@lmola501 They are saying that they are planning to sell the F-35, however it is still being tested due to numerous problems. The problem is, countries are going to hold back now because of their economies. Another factor is there will be other options open to them and it could be cheaper than the F-35. I don't think America is very happy with how quickly Russia and China is moving ahead with their projects. China and Russia's will be ready in about 5-6 years apparently.

@lmola501 F-22 is an integral to and makes up a good proportion of US's aerial defense, so by selling them they would lose one of their most prized assets. Considering the fact that the US, as the world's strongest economy, is struggling to fund for these planes, what would make you think that other countries who is less well off will be able to pay to buy them? It makes no sense. Therefore due to the high cost of purchase and maintenance, it's not going to happen.
