As can be seen on other times when the Million Dollar wedge is in play, Pat always shows afterward where the Million dollar card was located, just to show the chance to pick it was there. So he must know beforehand in what slot the card has been placed

So, in this instance, he knew she had the million dollar card as soon as it was picked. He went the extra mile to make sure he had everyone's attention before revealing the amount.

@glaked23 You are almost right. You spin the wheel a land on the million dollar wedge, you have to call a letter that is in the puzzle, you have solve the puzzle to maintain the million dollar wedge. After that you cannot hit any bankrupts for the rest of the game, and you have to have the most money. If you do all of that you will play for the million.

-pick up the wedge, which like the gold 10k is just the center sliver.

-solve the puzzle in the same round you pick it up to retain it.

-never hit a bankrupt the rest of the game, or it's gone.

-win the maingame.

-hit the million (1 wedge out of 24) on the bonus round wheel.

-solve the bonus round.

Michelle hit the MDW on the very first spin of the game as noted here.

It almost feels like it's just for show with the incredible amount of obstacles they set up to stop you from winning the million.
