Both your uncle Mick and Laurie done some of the best guitar work in the world with Home.I have told Laurie about this stuff and he was well pleased about it.
yes they did,it is a shame mick did not get to play on the big stage after home.he made some new songs and played around london in different pubs.he alwaysput on a good show.
I can not believe both Mick and Cookie died so young the world has been robbed of their great talent.I do think if Home had some how stayed together they would have been massive. They have given me pleasure for over 30 years and i'm still playing their stuff.
listening to home, i also agree they would have been huge band if they had stayed together.if they had released a ifollow up album similar to the home album .
Amaninasuitcase - that is indeed my good friend Cookie on the drums. What a lovely bloke. Mick Stubbs was a nice bloke as well. The last track on the Alchemist is one of the most beautiful songs. After Stubbsy's funeral I went home and played that track over and over and cried my bloody eyes out. RIP Cookie and Stubbs.
I loved Home in the 70's but sadly never got see them. See my comments above re Micks kindness. I think he was suprised and pleased that a complete stranger had rang him out of the blue. I had a great chat with him and sent him the first Home CD and he also sent me a couple of singles of solo stuff
It it Mick Stubbs on vocals. I loved Home in the 70's. I got in touch with Mick in the early 90's probably as I was amazed that he had seemed to disappear off the music radar after Home. Anyway he kindly sent me some tapes of solo demos stuff, a live Rondos recording and Paradise live & studio his post Home band. A great man. Now if anyone has any live Home recordings please get in touch !!!
Thanks. I only recently found out that Mick Stubbs was in the Blue Rondos. He was a dear friend and I knew him and his family when he was in Home in the early 70's. Is that Cookie on the drums? Both have sadly passed away.
