Kids, time to learn. What you are hearing over the pop station in your local city is 99% untalented, autotuned 'musicians'. Its time for you to listen to what music is really about.
I'm not religious at all and don't care if this kid is. All that matters is this kid is a rare musician that has quality and passion with his work which I respect much more. Its sad that this type of music is hidden from the general public/society. I'm glad that his work is being used in movies and television where people have a slight chance to hear him.

I had the pleasure of spending time with Alexi before he went to California. He would sit and play his guitar and sing for the family. I realy enjoy his music..

Of course, never asking him, I don't know, but I have a hunch that he's Christian and Christians, I'm sure, don't need to hear this after reading the lyrics. "The Grace of God" and "shining your light" are two beautiful things that you really only hear Christians speaking of, anyway. But, as stated, I don't know. Why not ask the author his intentions?
I absolutely adore this song. For the last few years I've been struggling with an eating disorder and this song literally took my hand and walked me through some of my darkest days. I cannot begin to tell you what it means to me.
When I listened I heard the lyrics as "From the corner of my heart, thought I saw a light shine." The lyrics say "from the corner of my eye," but I'm sticking with the "heart" version. :)

Absolutley incredible. It seems no matter what alexi song I listen to, that's always what it boils down to. Incredible. Beautiful music and beautiful lyrics that reach down and touch the deepest part of your soul. Each one of his songs tells an entire story in its own, you just have these images flash in your head that you can't ignore. I've used two of his songs for my past two film projects (on my channel) for that exact reason. The power of music is amazing.

When I listened I heard the lyrics as "From the corner of my heart, thought I saw a light shine." The lyrics say "from the corner of my eye," but I'm sticking with the "heart" version. :)

Absolutley incredible. It seems no matter what alexi song I listen to, that's always what it boils down to. Incredible. Beautiful music and beautiful lyrics that reach down and touch the deepest part of your soul. Each one of his songs tells an entire story in its own, you just have these images flash in your head that you can't ignore. I've used two of his songs for my past two film projects (on my channel) for that exact reason. The power of music is amazing.

I'm not religious, but I don't mind if Alexi or Sam Beam have lyrics like these, as long as it's not every song. God or things in the bible may be used as a metaphor, or when you don't have a better way of putting something. Besides, the song's got a catchy tune to itself :P

When I read or hear someone who uses the word "Religious" or " Religion" it should be in reference to Gods definition, if not then its mans meaning of something gone wrong.
