  • If I tried to put any of my little ladies like that on my knee they'd jump all over the place. Lolol. Nice cresties.

  • what is the type gecko that has the tiger like pattern

  • @Theguitarwhiz Her color is a rust/orange, harley pattern.

  • um, one more question: would a 18"18"36" be big enough for 3 cresties, or a 24"24"48"

    please respond!

  • nice cresteds!! :) i couldnt hear anything but hey... great geckos! :D

  • Thanks!

  • do you know of any other speicies of geckos that can be kept together year long, (male and female) not (females together bacause i know i can keep my femals toghether with out worry, anyways , im looking for a pair of geckos (breeding pair) that can be kept together year long, any ideas?

  • Tokay geckos, White lined geckos and Giant day geckos can be kept together BUT there is always a chance at sometime that a pair needs to be seperated. If you notice bite marks or weight loss the pair will need to be seperated for a few months. My white lined geckos have been seperated once in 4 years. My pair of Tokay geckos and giant day geckos have never needed seperation yet but I have not had them as long as my white lined gecko pair.

  • thanks for the reply, my tokays geckos live together also but i have a trio, i think i might breed my crested geckos. but i was just wondering when you breed (if you do) your crested geckos do you keep your eggs at room tepurature?

  • There is no specific time to breed. Just put the two geckos together for a month and then separate them. Be warned that some males are aggressive during mating and sometimes bite off the female's tail which never grows back. I will tell you how I do things at my house, every gecko has their own plastic bin the equivalent of a 15-20 gallon tank, I put the male in the female's bin for a month, They usually start mating right away, after he is taken out I check the female's lay box everyfew days

  • When I find eggs I gently take them out (without turning them) and put them in a little rubbermaid container w/ a lid filled with hatchrite and incubate them at room temp. The laybox is just a small plastic sandwich size container filled with moss. To find eggs I just lift the box up and look through the clear plastic bottom. When I see them I just move the moss aside on top and pick them up. If you have more questions feel free to ask and I'll break it all down to you everything I do.

  • @TheReptileWhisperer what would you use for a lay box?

  • @Hedgehogs24 Watch my video on crested gecko care and you will see what I use. It's shows how I care for them and their babies.

The 24x24x48 would be big enough for 3 cresteds but make sure they are all female. Males stress out females if you have them together longer than a month. All the boys wanna do is breed and the female gets mad and will start biting the male in the head:(

  • @TheReptileWhisperer thanks, you helped me a ton! that kind of answered another question i had. like, if you had a male and female, would you need 2 put them in different tanks? then, if you wanted to have crested gecko babies, put them in the same tank 4 about a month, then seperate them again...? thanks, again!

PS: caould you put the male and female together, just if you wanted to take them out and let them both crawl on you?

  • @Hedgehogs24 Yeah if you want babies put them together for a month but beware because once they start laying eggs they don't stop. One mating can give you a whole year of eggs over and over. This is problematic if you do not want a whole bunch of babies and also the female if she does not get enough calcium will get metabolic bone disease. They will die from it if not treated and become deformed for life.

  • @Hedgehogs24 Oh also crested geckos will breed while you hold them if you are not careful. I never knew they would do this until I held both of mine once and the male all of a sudden decided to grab the female and try to mate. I had to seperate them and got bitten by accident. Crazy geckos! Who would have thought they would breed on a person!

  • do you keep your geckos together for the entire year or just for the breeding season, im asking if i would be able to keep my femal with my male yearly?

    please respond, thx

    5 stars

  • I only keep them together for a month. Anymore than that is stressful for the female because she will start laying eggs and he will continue to pester her for breeding. Females retain sperm for a long time and even though they breed once the female will lay 2 eggs every 3-4 weeks for 5 months or more! Mine are still laying eggs and I have heard they can do this for over a year before they stop.

  • ok, thanks for the reply.

    =]

  • very nice

  • Thanks:)

  • they are beautiful!
