LEGO firmware on the brick receives BT commands from iCommand on a PC with Java.
A Java application periodically translates mouse/joystick input into Motor.setSpeed() on the iCommand API.
Just hoping that this makes some sense to you... either way, it was sure fun to drive it!
Few weeks ago i took it apart, now i am very satisfied with the NXTSkidSteerLoader i made. Will take some time to properly 'document' it. So now you know what's in the works, bye!
BTW if you rebuild it, mind you that this thing is hard to program and drive without the software or formulae i derived, so there is a challenge after building it....
This is from the single LEGO Mindstorms NXT retail set i have. It is very expensive imo, but i have been playing it for years now. That set got me 'hooked' on motorising technic sets from LEGO, so now i have bulldozer, excavator, hauler, truck, front loader (very old as well as new one) offroader...
I try to buy cheap, but still it must all in all be in the upper hundreds of euros.
woah!!!! how did you make it controlled by the joypad?!!!???

@iPhoneSDKDeveloper
it is a long story, see my homepage on MOCPages.
Pity i cannot insert a url here.
In short, i wrote a Java app against various libs to get DirectX input (JXInput) and translate into BT commands to the NXT (Lejos' iCommand).

did you used a difirentail???
skylorz 2 years ago
no differential was used.
the computer calculates the required speeds of the left and right motors each, depending on the steering angle of the third motor.

how did you did that with the joystick???

Hello bazmarc!

legoMan104 2 years ago
yep, a single retail set.
of course unless i seriously err, like i did on the Liebherr MK80, where i overlooked a second long axle NOT being in the two sets we used.
