  • I have a Toshiba 32 LCD TV that when I turn it on has no sound and a black screen. The power light comes on and is solid. I am unable to get the menu or any button to work. We did have a power outage a few days and it seems that may be the cause. Any suggestions? Should I change the capacitors?

    Thanks

  • Hi. Thanxs the video. First, i need to say my english sucks. But, i need help because in Spanish nothing appears about technical problems.

I have a LG LCD 32 inches, the screen goes black, don't turn off, i tried with the remote control and the parallels buttons and doesn't turn off still. The channels doesn't change. I really need help.

Again, i don't speak english. I tried hard writing this post.

    Thanxs, from Colombia.

  • @adictoalvicio papo trata el video mio de capacitors.

  • hi i have a samsung 42 inch plasma , it turns on but black screen with sound , and when i change chanels with the sat box it changes chanels , do you think its the capacitors

  • @aharmdiver1 i doubt it. try searching for "lcd black screen sound good" on youtube. youtube is a great reference. just dig through it. goodluck

  • @aharmdiver1 Try checking the backlight of your TV. It will most likely be located on the back of your TV in the Vents. If you don't see any white light, then the backlight if your TV could have possibly went out and needs to be replaced. Usually when you power up your TV & receive audio but no picture it is a backlight issue.

  • I appreciate your redo of the capacitor video, but there's a few things you should note to us. When changing the capacitors, say you change 3 out of 6 capacitors, if you decide to up the volts on the 3 that you changed, is it alright to leave the other 3 capacitors that you did not change with the original volt? It seems like you would have 3 capacitors at 1000uf50v and the old capacitors at 1000uf25v, is that okay?

  • @Measuray yes its totally ok. your 25v capacitors are exactly what the TV needs. adding a 50 wont make any difference, itll just be able to store more. i didnt change all my capacitors either and my TV has been working for a year now after i change the ones that were busted.

  • @Measuray

  • Awesome! Thanks. You fixed my TV

  • I have the same problem my tv is turning on have sound black screen It is only a year and 3 months old Lg won't cover it it not even paid for yet but the warranty is up someone help me please

  • Actually the uF can be 10% + or - and yes the Post Voltage has to be = or higher

Also another way to tell + and - on the post is the shorter post will always be the - and + will always be the longer post.

  • my tv plasma ( akai)have a black screen problem but the sound is good also.. I can change of stations including with remote control>>>>>what could be this problem??

  • @fzaalbert not sure. it could possibly be your bulb burned out. ive never experience this problem to i cant really help you.

  • @fzaalbert quite possibly your TV's bulb has burned out. just like the lightbulb in your lamps, they eventually die. but im not an electrician so i cant really tell you what it is.
