  • Good entrepreneurship. It's probable that he will be able to reach his goals, however not as fast as he claims. The great German car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and VW won't let him make the rules, they will determine the speed of this process themselves and they will maybe even realise this whole idea by themselves. Also, German engineers will soon be able to develop powerful batteries which won't require this system anymore. And as soon as this happens, his idea is outdated...

  • taxes this sure cancer in israel . as this cancer kill so many .

its time that israel reduce this slavery .

this israel high taxes killing our people .

big part from high come from arab terroism .

    greenfeld meir

  • @greenfeld5

What?... You are saying the oil tax in Israel is bad?

Get an electric car, boom, fixed.

  • So when people charge at home does Better Place make any money off of it or is it just the power company?

  • @ArcticMayhem13 Power company.

  • DL the audio from this video at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • So when is Israel planning on paying the $103,614,670,000 they owe the US?

  • @The4LA2Baker0 Israel doesn't owe the US money.

In fact, the US owes us money ;)

  • @Traviskolber A Conservative Estimate of Total Direct U.S. Aid to Israel: Almost $114 Billion.

  • Shai Agassi's idea will emancipate the whole world from the 2 major morbid cancerous evils which are contaminating the planet... ISLAM & OIL!

    God bless Agassi!

  • this is way cool

    but i do have one question... and that is;

you know out in texas, new mexico, and arizona, where it says last gas for 200 miles? he needs to answer that, and it is good.

  • Minor question: Why does everytime I share my car I bang my knee?

  • Because when you share it with someone who is shorter than you, he moves the seat closer to the steering wheel. When you then enter the car, you bang your knee because you're used to entering the car when the seat is back the way you left it.

    Get it?

  • @milkarton My dirt mind caught some smirkish joke that wasn't there.I'm so ashamed of myself lol

  • hehe what did you think he was talking about?

  • I don't know, that's why I asked ;)

  • because they change the chair :-)

  • leobons - when he said the words "every time you share your car" he meant when you share your car with your wife, who's probably shorter, and so she moved the seat forward.

  • Wow, there is something really big coming up!!!

    God bless this guy!

  • Reserve me one of those cars!

  • I hope that we (American car companies) investigate this option with vigor. I don't know enough about the topic but this sounds like a great idea. Getting away from gas and coal would be great. It sounds like long distance driving and hauling would still be gas vehicles? Anyways I love the vision.

  • I'm not worried about the environmental issues as much as the economic issues. The economic issues are more prevalent and by resolving the economic issues we resolve the environmental issues.

That means, yes, we'll need to use coal to power these. But it also means that we can begin to pay off our 11 trillion dollar debt! I want that gone so badly.

  • I wonder why Shai Agassi thinks its neccesary to use the power of the state in order to convert the world to electric cars.

The government really didnt play any parts in starting the gasoline adventure. Why is, people call on government now to fix this problem that has been conjured and preached by governments? (Im talking about the CO2 emissions and the potential harm on the climate myth)

  • Without the government, the people will surely fall to gasoline. There's nothing wrong with government helping the people. You just think there is because Ronald Reagan said his famous, but sneaky quote...

  • Because gasoline is slowly killing any country that uses it without selling it.

Maybe you live in a middle eastern country where you can prophit off of it.

I mean, fuck the environmental concerns, we'll perish of a lack of economy long before the environment is an issue.

  • It sounds like a good idea. He didn't get into all the details, but based on what he said, I'm guessing that the government would be paying for the solar/wind equipment & land, wiring, metered outlet stations, swap stations, the swap station attendant salaries, and the batteries. Then that would be paid for through higher taxes or added to the electric cost, and zoning codes would require an outlet for every 6th parking parking space?

  • The desease doesnt come from arab country, it comes from the US it self..

The Us consumes most of the petrol in the world.. mayb u should reflect on that, dont blame in on others..

GM keeps producing fuel guzzling cars, and u blaming somebody else.. get a life..

  • Finally... a Steve Jobs for the automotive industry.

  • I have an Idea! Let's get the entire world to move their automotive energy away from oil, that comes in big part from arab countries, and build an entire infrastructure thus diminishing the oil revenue from antagonist arab states; I supose this is easier than learning to get along with your neighbors. Brilliant!!! I love being informed...

  • I think he is a visionary. We need more people like this in business leadership.. Go Shai!

  • He's Nicola Tesla meets Henry Ford in the 21st century. If this plan works, he's gonna be a very wealthy man... If he isn't already.

  • he's gonna change the world! no more oil imports!

  • Ditto on scamming using US tax dollars to sabotage US undustry. Is that why the so-called "bank bail-out" went through and the manufacturing bail-out is being blocked?

  • geez. it's such a pleasure to hear an intellegence and innovating thinking for a change! this guy is a genius! and israel is an inspiration to the entire world!

  • Money will go to Israel whether there is Shai electric motor or not.

  • Shai Agassi isn't spending any tax money. He's a private person.

  • Well, if everyone listened to you, we'd be on our knees sucking the dick of the Chinese semi-communist government. We owe the Chinese so much money right now because of oil.

  • Absolutely BBRRRRILLIANT :D..... I believe it can work.....

jsut a note though abt these comments... whats the point in bringing religion or politics into this??... were all facing the same oil addiction..and were part of that circle....

  • If they can apply this model to places like china we will be on our to kicking the oil addition. Brilliant presentation - GO ISRAEL!

  • Every day i see stupid videos about solutions to cars and oil. This is the first time ive seen an actual working plan. I really hope that this catches on across the world. The only thing that keeps this from happening is us, as consumers. If we dont demand it, they wont supply it, and so long as we are satisfied with our gas cars, we will never see change.

  • amazing!!

  • So ... ah ... were the Israelites having trouble buying oil from the Muslims? (Maybe)

This is a super plan. The cars will be great. The pollution will be near zero.

Old BEV batteries can have a second life storing renewable energy for the grid.

I want this in my country, and every country.

  • Israel buys it oil from Russia and ex-ussr counties

  • Go Go Go Electric cars.

I know we want it. The oil company lobby doesnt allow it to happened for last 100 years or so.

Lets kick them off those oil industry bastards they are the evil powers of the modern society.

  • Electric cars powered by a nuclear grid = An American resurgence

  • Where does the waste go?

  • If you were honestly interested in nuclear power, you'd understand how safe it is to transport and store the waste. This is 2009. Not 1986 Chernobyl.

  • Let's do it! I'm sick of gasoline vehicles - and our addition to Saudi oil.

  • Very inspirational! Let's GO!!!

  • He's hot

    I'll buy whatever he's selling

  • Simple yet brilliant. Down with oil!

  • Gotta love Israel... The early innovators and early adopters of so many technologies and medicines we enjoy and event ake for granted today. USA says: bring on the electric cars Shai, and lets watch the Saudis go bankrupt!

    ...electrifying! :)

  • the Saudi Royals are not likely to suddenly be poor, micheal. they have diversified assets, I'm sure. They probably own half of the US already.

  • true, but trust me - adding electric cars to the US economy (even just a small percentage) would send shivers down their head scarves.

  • they are not sitting idly is my point, they are investing in solar more than we are probably

  • @cod65 The saudis are not forward thinking enough to do smart things like diversifying their assets. They think their status as kings of oil will never die so they keep all their assets there, in addition to all the other muslim countries who invest in the oil industry. Oil is their everything. With that resource gone, they don't have the innovation to get other revenue. They will eventually fall into debt.

  • Join the Battery Vehicle Society it's already on it's way! We have a charging network already set up. We have cars and we're building a variety of cars too including ones you can build yourself

  • What an awesome plan.

  • Wow.

Why didn't we think of this in the UK.

    The numbers add up!

Clear thinking out of the box!!!

  • Because you are importing Muslims and exporting Jews. Go Israel !!!

  • This is awesome!

Can't wait till this comes to the UK.
