Just because u see these thugs in the video getting all hot and bothered doesn't mean that there isn't another part of Taiwan that wants status quo or even unification. I think people are forgetting the other point, which is that not even all Taiwanese want independence. Just because u see these thugs in the video getting all hot and bothered doesn't mean that there isn't another part of Taiwan that wants status quo or even unification. It's easy to take this out of context and say that China is going against the will of ALL Taiwanese, whereas if independence was on the table, it would actually cause a big commotion within Taiwan on the issue.

Taiwan is complex? I don't doubt it, every society has complexities, but no way is it more complex as bigger countries with more minorities. A lot of older Chinese can't speak Mandarin as it is only a dialect of Chinese; it doesn't make them any less Chinese than someone who can.

Taiwan uses the traditional Chinese characters while PRC uses simplify; this argues for Taiwan being even more Chinese than PRC. The aborigine makes up 2% of the population; moreover, there are Chinese on the Fujian coast and Hainan Island who are the same as the aboriginal Taiwanese, so this argument doesn't fly.

Taiwan must educate chinese people in main land what Democracy is all about. It appeared to me that chinese people (main land) were completely brained washed with cars, cell phone, Coca Cola.
