  • how r u now? I'm a guitar player/ teacher who hasn't been able to play much for almost 3 months. How long did you have numbness before the surgery? all the best

  • @angeloamericano there was numbness about 6 months before the surgery. Now, almost 4 years after the surgery i still have problems moving the fingers, but it did not get worse. if i had the time t'd start to re-learn guitar left-handed, but as my profession requieres a lot of time, there only remains to say bye, bye guitar...

  • I severed mine and the artery as some tendons. Had emergency surgery but I wont know till this time next year if I'll regain feeling back :(

  • Hope you are doing well. Sorry to hear that you're still having numbness. I've been told the SAME thing to look forward too after a year.... My Ulnar Nerve was entrapped at the elbow..

    God Bless You Degeneriert

  • i have the problem. how long did you go before surgery?

  • 8 months. but after 1 year 1 month there reamins still some numbness.

  • I have had numbness now for about 3 weeks. My ulnar nerve on my left hand is the problem, but my right hand can act up too. I have an appointment on May 1 to see a specialist about it. Actually, I hope I can get surgery and get it fixed, and not wait 8 months. But in Canada, elective surgery can take months. How many months did you have to wait?

  • the first numbness occured in June 2006, the surgery was in Feb 2007.

  • Hello friend, I would really like to hear how you are doing, because I haven't heard many positive stories of recovery.

You can go to my site and watch my Ulnar Nerve Entrapment video.

My problem started on May 9 2008 and I had surgery on June 5 2008.

God Bless you & your recovery

    Phyllis

  • Wow, you are lucky. My problem started in April and I have not even been scheduled for surgery yet. I have yet to see a neurologist, who will schedule surgery probably not before Christmas. Welcome to socialized health care in Canada. Whatever you yanks do, don't vote for any candidate promising to do there what we have done here. Sure, a doctor's visit is free, but there are so few doctors and fewer specialists, you will wait months for help. All the while my muscles are wasting.

  • I am so very sorry to hear that Myndenway. But if it is any help, the way that I understand it, it does not matter how long you wait for surgery or how quick you have surgery -The end results are the same....

We'll always have problems with numbness & strenght loss unless we get a miracle from God.

  • My understanding is that the longer you wait, the more muscle wasting you get, which may never regenerate. I have lost a lot of strength in my affected hand. Like you said in your video, the purpose of the operation is to prevent the whole arm from becoming lame, not to fix the damage that has already occurred, so the faster the operation, the less permanent damage.

  • Yea, I understand what you are saying, but I'm just totally lost at this point. Because now, I'm ( for some reason ) getting 2 or 3 differant stories from my doctor & his assistant.. Now I'm being told that any strength lost will be regained over time ??? And that my surgery was so important, because I had twisted blood vessels due to my injury of heavy lifting & straining which occured over a few days ???? I'm just in misery with the numbness & am praying the numbness will go away.

  • Thank you for your videos! I am a guitarist with the same problem in my right (picking) hand. How are you now? I think an update is due!

  • Hey, der HEN!! Gruß vom Harald! :-))

  • Wenn du wieder fit bist müssen wir beide mal ein Metalstück aufnehmen was ich geschrieben habe. Gute Besserung HEN
