It is way better than the original in my opinion.
Last year, or early this year I thought I saw a homebrew 'nes/famicom' port of the game. But it was never released and was probably a fake.
The thing is that this game could be reproduced - not with all the fancy graphic effects - on a simple 8bit machine and retaining all the gameplay.
